Sandro asked, As a matter of possible future personal concern, what's the FSUW's attitude towards ironing

When my Moscow woman came here for a couple of months, we advanced only to step 2 of the 5-step process: 1. washing, 2. drying, 3. folding, 4. ironing, and 5. putting away.  She was not domestic, which did not bother me as I am the "laid back" type.   When I spent a week with a Ukraine woman, everything seemed like a Chinese laundry except for the blue-eyed laundress.  That bothered me somewhat.

Point taken, Gator. Should my brown-eyed Philipino help quit, cancel Moscow and concentrate on Ukraine ;).

When it comes to ironing, my Russian wife would have nothing
other than the Sapporo Gravity Feed SP-94, replete with a
demineralized water bag that resembles a clinical IV. She takes this task pretty seriously, along with seamstressing - at which she's very professional. Thought you dudes might get a chuckle when things are taken to an extreme:

It seems Russian/Ukrainian women place a lot of stress on a man's shoes.  I remember one female friend here who was immediately turned off by the style of shoes a visitor from American wore and that was the end of it.

That would also be true of my wife - she sizes up a person's dress habit by the shoes he/she dons. Fortunately for me, I was wearing a nice suit with black oxfords when we met. The brown/tan suede saddle shoes I brought along were forgotten and abandoned at a riverside dacha - and I never saw them again....

My wife ironed my suit. She said it makes no difference whether they are ironed or dry cleaned. It still fits me ok and is still in decent condition.

She put the suit in the washing machine before ironing it. I should have mentioned that too.
