deden,

Great post.  I was laughing may arse off about the apartment.  I could well picture it in my head.  Only thing I was waiting for was the giant sewer rats!

I have not heard anything back yet.  Maybe within the next 2 - 3 hours.

I was always shoked when I saw how Americans acted being in public - they let their wind go free in public with a smell and some noise :?, eructation and etc. Maybe that was the way to show their disrespect to all Russians... ?

TheArrow,

No offense to any country.  When I was reading the story I was actually picturing some places here in the US that fit that same description, including the sewer rats.

Oh about the farting (breaking wind) - no that is typical guy behavior.  That to knows no boundaries of country. :D

E-mail update for today.  Sorry got busy earlier.

So I get the e-mail from RW and now she is thanking me for inviting me over here and accepts my offer?????  What the F***!!!  I never invited her here.  I just told her that I would like to go and meet her and that we should discuss the details of meeting each other.  I guess she took that as an invitation to come here?????

So in this last letter back I specifically spell out that it would be more practicle for me to go there, go to her town, than it would be for her to get a visa and come here.  Then I told her again that I would come there to see her.

So maybe tomorrow I'll let you know the outcome.  (I told you about two letters to get to the bottom of this.)

No, I never did see any rats, but cockroaches were a whole 'nother story.  On later trips I did notice that there was much improvements on the apartments.  Lots of reconstruction and not near as many crumbling buildings.  You could really see the changes happen before your eyes.  I love it over there and quite honestly, after being there for a week I start to feel that I fit in better there than I do here in California.

As to your current situation, truly, its time to move on to your pursuit of finding the right women.  I think this is most likely a scam and you should be looking for sincere ladies to start getting to know and just forget screwing with fat Yuri.  I know its kinda fun to play with them, but really you need to stay focused on the the goal.

And for Elen, I have learned a lot in my 8 years of this, both about myself and RWs (as well as soviet apartments).  That's why I'm now planning on taking an early retirement and moving over there to live as an ex-pat.

Sometime I'll share with you the story about how the bathroom had a view and a stove, lol.  The whole first experience was a culture shock to say the least.

Very sweet of you TheArrow.  Can I take that as an invitation?  I don't want to be like my so called friend.....hahaha.

Check you PM, I sent you my address to where you can send me the taxi money, wink, wink.

Ok, for everyone else, I received an e-mail on Saturday.  Nice and sincere, lovely as usual.  No mention of travel plans here or there.  Also heard the three little words this time, I LOVE YOU....so there you have it.  Asked her again for her address.  Have not heard anything in two days from her.  I'm done.  I'm not sending another e-mail to her/him....hahaha

Moving on.

Wow-wow, you wanna get too much money, boy. *wink-wink*. If I send ya this sum you could go home by this taxi then. LMAO *wink-wink*. Sorry for my sense of humour. Hope, you are not offended by it.

It's a strange thing she DID NOT give you her address. No plans of meeting, no address - but SHE LOVES YOU. Well.....I have been cheated once :( so I understand you a lot.

I think, you could be a good friend.

Is it typicall that you swap a few letters, you both ask a bunch of questions and get answers and then it seems to take a good leap forward and all of a sudden you feel it taking off?

You write a letter or two then mover her on to a messenger ap,

Back in the day I made all contacts via email.  Only one email a week with each gal for 6 weeks before trip and maybe 3-4 for each gal the few days before I landed to lock up specific meeting times.

I told tons of stuff about myself in the 6 standard emails, so that there would be no KGB type grilling when we actually met.

As result, many gals mentioned they felt like we had known each other for several years when we were first together.

Trench you think that you want to skip Skype type interactions.

A little history.
ICQ was released on November 15, 1996

Skype was first released in August 2003

The concept of "web webcam chat" emerged in the early 1990s, with the first widespread commercial
webcams becoming available around 1994, allowing for basic video communication over the internet;
however, it wasn't until the early 2000s with platforms like Skype that video chat through webcams
gained mainstream popularity and became widely accessible to consumers

Today is November of 2024, I didn't make the comment in 2005. Go find an old thread
about something that someone including yourself might have a new perspective on and
wake it up. That was my purpose. Why don't you do that?

AND we all know that MSN from Microsoft was never an original thought, they were
copying someone like they did with everything in the last 30 years.

I learned VisiCalc then Lotus 1,2,3 before Excel was a thing.
I used word perfect before word.

CU-SeeMe was available on Mac in 1992 but I never used Mac/Iphone/Apple stuff.

Yes I also remember Borland compiler :) and Lotus 123
That said I like microsoft :) I worked for them for 5 years!
They had great benefits, no deductible or co-pay for their health plan (Premera),
when You sick the doctor would come to Your house.
They also paid for on call nanny when the child was sick on had a school break
I think the copay for child care was $3 or $4 an hour!

I have never had such benefits since not at Google, not at Apple either!
Google has free food and massages though :)

I worked on the Redmond Campus for a year in the printer group designing Microsoft's laser printer controller boards in the early 90s
don't remember which building it was
I was the Pink Pong Champ on my floor
free Perrier!!!
free over time meals
stock option millionaires

grocery shopped on main street in redmond at the big Asian super market
gorged myself on cases of pickled baby octopus

it didn't get dark until after 10:00 PM!!!
just like in Russia, first really nice spring day, and everybody FREAKS OUT!!!

back in the early 90s you could buy an ultra modern townhouse whose backporch sits directly on a giant lake and have a small boat docked next to yur back door
for like $150k
Redmond subways were the only subwyas in america with salmon salad subs

if yur in Redmond, don't tell ANYONE yur from California!!!
they'll be pissed!!!

I used Lotus and still use Word Perfect.
Word Perfect is superior to Word.
