Thanks, I/O ad TG.   I talked to my brother who had food poisoning last year, and his suggestions were good.  Key is to drink lots of water, as I/O suggested. And~No more Pelmeni for me!

Back on topic, it seems to me that guys come to their ladies in different manners.  So this thread is good because it highlights different pathways to success in this pursuit.
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.  michelangelo

Patrick,

Thanks much! We hope all is going wonderfully with you and Maryna!

Michelangelo,

Really sucky timing for this with your friends coming over to watch the games. Hopefully you two are quick in the recovery and still are able to work a good day out of it!

TG,

I used to feel like that old Cream song "If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have no luck at all" and I felt the same way before my first marriage happened. Too dumb to know better and too dumb to run!

On Topic: If I was in the early stages of this I would try to emulate some that I see here who are doing it right. Momus, Kuna, Jerry, and others I cannot think of right now all seem to be listening and paying attention. Taking what works with their style and using it to get the best results out of the resources they have.

I am quite happy with the way things worked out for me even though I went through a lot of disappointment and frustration as I learned.  It was worth every bit of it, however anyone who starts with the knowledge and techniques that Momus, Jerry and Kuna (as well as others) are using is going to have a relatively easy path.  There is a saying that it is better to work smart than work hard but these guys are doing both and I am sure they will have success.

One of the better tales on the subject, and one I often recommend to the newbie, is the saga written by Muckraker about finding his wife in Vladivostok.  Truely a classic case of doing it right.

T/G Hmmmmmmmmm No I won't.  I was intending to respond your comments, but words simply fail me.  Think I'll go watch the tennis.  "Relatively easy path, Hot air and Bums"  seem to all fit into the same area to me.  Nothing good comes easy no matter how well prepared you are.  Oh give me the tennis, Roddick seems to be going well. ::)

You know what they say.  There is a first for everything.  :toocool: ::) ;D

Watching tennis is good exercise for the neck anyway.  Here we are stuck with football to watch.  For most it is only good exercise for the elbow as we lift our beer cans to our lips.

Think I'll go watch the tennis.

Not needed watch... our Belgium girl have already win a match against a Ukrainian girl yesterday... will be like usual, our Belgium Flamish Kim wil win the competition ( last year profesional, wish build a family ).... since our top one, the Belgium Wallon Justine don't make competition these year ( busy with divorce )...

Women tennis, something where my country seem to be good  :clapping:

I hope I am not labeled a one week wonder (10 days to be exact).
When I visited my wife we had been communicating for 5 months.
It was not that I didn't want to visit for a longer period of time, it was mostly issues at work and having difficulty being able to take off more than 2 weeks a year. Our workloads are extremely heavy. I managed to swing two trips within a 5 month period, 10 days in 09/2004 and 5 days in 02/2005. Sometimes you can sense a good woman in a few days. I voted 1 - 3 weeks.

I have read only 10% of your story about RW, and that itself was a lot.  So yes, you have been through a lot.  However, the future has never looked brighter.

To be a little picky, I think your statement should read, "I am quite happy with the way things worked out for me (so far)".  I say that because you still have a lot of work to do, as do most of us.

Thanks Gator,   I don't discount the work I have ahead of me one bit.  I am well aware that life can deal some surprises when you least expect it.  I also know that I have the most exceptional woman I have met in my life which does give me a lot of reason to feel confident about our future together.  Thanks for the good advice.
