Lubov's Club- owner Lubov Baranova in Chernivtsi Ukraine ?
« on: January 24, 2007, 12:44:39 AM »
I am asking if anyone has had dealings with this agency.
The reason I ask is, I had a women that I was going to see end of April and this is who she recommended to me for airport pickup, translator and apartment.
I checked this agency out and its owner and they came up everywhere on different ??? scam sites I could not find anything good about them. I did a search here, and nothing came up which surprised me very much :o
I will not use them, but am not real sure how to approach the woman I have been writing because some of the people that reported them stated that a lot of the girls did not know what was going on in the agency ::) This is hard for me to swallow.
If anyone here knows anything about this agency could you let me know. I am on hold till I get further info. If I still go, I will make all my own arrangements and will not line the pockets of this agency. I will make sure that this girl is for real and not part of the scam or I may just move on. Robert

Can't help you much Robert except to say that what I have heard in the past is not good either. They have a very bad reputation & nobody I know has given them a good recommndation.
To make any recommendation it would be of great help to know what city you are planning to visit.

Rvrwind, Thanks for reply, I was planning to visit a woman in Chernivtsi on April 26th, until her last letter, she informed me that she was with Lubov's Agency and they take care of the clients coming from Keiv to Chernivtsi.
I then looked up Lubov's :o and knew that I was in trouble if I went. I wrote the woman back and told her what I knew and thought of this agency >:(
She gave me no reason to not think she was sincere in her letters. So I told her that if she still wanted to build a relationship that she would have to leave the agency and contact me through a internet cafe, and if I was going to meet her in Ukraine it would be under my terms and my terms only.
I am not holding my breath about her contacting me back. If she doesn't then I know she is part of the scam as well. If she does contact me it might be to try and cover the lubov's agenct tracks. Life gors on live and learn ::) Robert

You could try Kevin at Kherson Girls or Jack at First Dream, they may know someone in that city, I'm afraid I can't do much for you on this one, Russia is more my turf but I do know a few honest agencies in Ukraine, LOL. ;D

I remember a lot of negativity about this agency in the past but I cannot find links to the posts. Anyway, they were on different boards and are probably removed by now because they are too old.

Igor,

You are correct, they ARE old - however, at the Planet-Love Archives (sister site to RWD), there are posts from 2000 to 2003 related to Baranova. Click on this link -- http://www.planet-love.com/smf/index.php?action=search - and search for the term "Baranova" and you will find about 10 topics.

This Baranova is a real snake. If she pulled this crap in the states, she would be doing time in the Big House. Its to bad the FSU powers to be do not crack down on these type of people and put them away. The Tourism would soar ;D

Next to Yulia Petrova, Barracuda Barranova is the most efficient, long time running scam that I am aware.

I was first scammed by the Barracuda in 1997.

In a trip to Chernvosti in 2004 one of my guys went off on his own and came back with this wonderful young beautiful woman. Started asking questions and sure enough it was one of Barranova's girls.

The Barracuda has done quite well for herself. Has two really fine flats, new car. In fact in 2004 she was remodeling one of the flats. She has done very well for herself.

Roberjay, or whoever was asking about the Barracuda, if you want more info feel free to PM me.

I was wondering if you would share more information I have a similar situation. I met someone and we intend to meet in April and she claims to be with Lubov Agency.  She also lives in Chernivtzi and wants to stay in apartments.  If you would I appreciate if you contact me through e-mail I am curious what other similarities there may be.  I saw your e-mail and I am even more nervous now.  Because I saw information about this agency scamming.

Just to let you know that Lubov in Chirnivtsi is very much in business again and has not changed.  I actually like Lubov, but she is short of money and getting agressive.  I stopped in to see her 25Jun07, but only her deputy, Julia H was there.  I flirted with Julia and came back to see her on 26Jun, but this time she seemed more serious, Baranova was there, and we ended up going to Krause Hause, a very expensive place where they charge for lighting the candle and I suspect, but cannot prove, the is a kickback.  This time Julia seemed more serious.  Dinner again Wed, then on Thursday when I went to Lubov's office, there were presents to give my engaged bride, SS flatware, shiney pots and pans, and so forth.  I declined and no one was happy.  Well, I was, because I knew how Lubov worked and didn't touch a single thing.  The girl, Julia, was not happy, but I had previously noted that despite her words, when I touched her she pulled away, a perfectly legitimate response from a 22 year old being touched by a not-very-handsome 65 year old man!  I have previously come to Chernivtsi to meet one of Lubov's girls, and we have remained friends for two years and I have visited her in Prague twice, once with another lady in tow.
And the two, or three of us had a very good time.

But when I met this lady outside of Lubov, she complained that Lubov fired her and that Lubov had not passed on any of the money I had sent.  So be really, as extremely, unwilling to send money to her, at Holy@ ua. net or something like that.  Lubov makes money several ways, by the money you send to the girl, by the ride she provided from Kiiv to Chernivtsi, by the room she rents to you, by the ladies that accomany you for a tour of the town, and then hit you up for diapers for the kid or something like that, by the presents she wants you to buy for your lady, and possibly by kickbacks from the restaurants and stores where you buy presents for your lady.  And be warned that once you buy your lady an expensive present, you will never see her again.

So now, the ladies in Chernivtsi are the most beautiful in the world and most of them are extremely nice, but they are often as afraid of American men and we are of them.  A good thing to do is to exchange passport information over coffe, and write down or photocopy the information carefully.  Second, get your own translator who works for you.  Third, do not use Lubov's transportation, there is Ukraine Air service daily from Borispil, and there is a hotel a few hundred meters from the Borispil airport.  Third, do not use Lubov, or Maria Dorina's, or anyone's lodging, they will come in and check out your stuff, I think, although I cannot prove.  Get a room at the Kiev or other hotel, about $22 per night.  Or at least use the hotel room to store you personal stuff.

On my last trip I went to see a Maria Dorina lady, and their rule was that I had to use their translator so I was never sure I was being told what the lady said or being told what the Dorina Agenc rules were.  When I got into their car at Borispil, (kiev), I wondered why the translator quickly took the front passenger seat.  I quickly found out, the foot room was about six inches and the drive, Sergie likes to accellerate on the twisty, bumpy Ukraine roads.

Maria's supplied apartment did not even have a bed, but a fold out couch that I had to make up each night.  Nor did the bathroom come with toilet paper.  The first night the weather was cool and the room was ok, but the second night was warm and the misquitos were out.  There were no screens and it was too warm to close the windows,  so I basically was awake all night.  After the third night I moved to the hotel, but Maria Dorina would not refund any of my money for the nights not used.  And at that point I also told the girl, Svetlana Z, age 42, that I would call her when I was ready to talk to her again.  Then I went out, found my own translator, two of them, and enjoyed the beautiful town.  I went to stores, both open air markets, and rode most of the trolleys from one end to the other.

Would I go back?  You bet, but by air, and I would stay at one of the excellent hotels.  Do not judge hotels by American standards, they will seem shabby.  Ride the bus, it costs 1/2 hrivna, or the private buses are 1 hgrivna, if not sure, hand the conductor or driver a 1 hgrivna as see what you get back.  Or note what other people are handing.  Note that people in the back will hand money forward and the driver or conductor will send the receipt and change back, going hand to hand.  When several sets of money are going back and forth at once, or when the money going forward of for more than one ticket, I don't know how it is kept straight.

To sum up, be extremely cautious with Baranova  and very cautious with everyone else.  Because Chirnivtsy is off the beaten tourist track, people are friendly towards Americans.  Try to look like a local, imitate their dress.  I wear a vest if it not too hot, it hides my little camera and keeps important things in zipper pockets inside or in front.  And local men wear them.  Look for bargains, gas is 5 grivnas per liter, wages are about 750 grivnas per month.  Adventure comes when you are open to it and least expect it.

Cover yourself, send a legible copy of your passport to yourself by email.  If you need a copy of it, you can go to an internet cafe and print it out.  Give a friend $550 before you go, if you need money he can send it to you via Western Union and the MTCU number to your email.

Very true Bruno. I don't have the funds for a high profile advertiing budget, That's why I rely on people here & former clients to spread the word for the most part. Also my Banner exchange program. Its a slow process but eventually I hope it will pay off enogh that I can make a living at least.
It isn't easy being honest but at least I sleep good!! ;D

Good luck Richard...

But sorry to be pessimist but it will be very difficult...

In 1996, with my first free site, i have earn around 3000$ month during the first year... 17000$ the next few year (5 ) but the site was already stopped !!!...

In 2005, i have start again.. first 3 month, around 300% income... after, i i have pay from my own wallet... but since traffic was growing, the expense was growing... and since i am a simple gardener, i have my limit... and i don't speak about the attack with virus, the attemp to shut down server ( to much request by second ), etc...

Grown a little more, have around 1000 ladies and you will be a danger for the great one... and they will use non-ethics method for shut your down...

Other thing, like me, when you work with sponsor and you are free... sometime, the sponsor turn againt you.. by example, the well know "Eleana" have refuse to pay because some of their girls was using my free service in place of their... yep, more reply for them... and my certified men was with a copy of some ID ( driving license, social security card, national or international passport )...

But in any case, thing change... 1996, i was after 12 month, with around 100.000 hit by day... in 2005, i was with a maximum of 900 hit day...in 1996, it was maybe 500 agency... now, you have several thousand...

So, you are maybe honest, you are cheap ( when i see you price page ) but in the long term, you will die... the only good thing is that you make tourist tour... that people can book a fishing trip without dating ladies.... for this, you are on the right way... maybe too much early but the right way...

I can assure you that when i wil be married annd if my girlfriend accept a vsit to Russia, i will me a fishing trip by your... yep, i share these hobby with my girlfriend... simply hope that you will be in FSU.... simply because i wish to meat the famous Richard  ;)

PS: You can maybe make your site a life enough thing if you stay in FSU but it will be difficult if your go back to Canada... 500$ month in FSU is not so back but it is nothing in Canada... of course, you can earn a lot of money if you wish... i remember to have refuse in 1997, 10.000£ from a english men... i have find a bride for him... he was in whell chair, owner of several business and with 3 mnth of work, i have find the perfect bride for him... a invalid too.... having work in the conection of clothe in FSU... having lose 3 fingers on her right hand due to a accident... this will always be my best success... so little problem about the girl but no one rusian men wishing her... but the english men seing no problem... but i was in these time to much proud for accept the money...

Richard, i am sure that you feel hapiness when you are able to build a couple... but these hapiness don't feed you... your price seem high but when you convert it in $$$, you are the cheaper englsh-russian letter translation that i known... seriously, a little rise your price will be beneficial to you... you need to survive, not die... i know only two agency who work honestly like you... one work with only French speaking people and the other one work from a almost forget ex-USSR country ( if some remember destiny, it is her country )....

Speak too much today... for usual "worker" like me, it is the drinking day...
