I was wondering if there could be a job an AM could perform much like Pavel or Stirlitz to help out people from the FSU who visit the US.

If I can retire from my job in 2005 and make up the difference between my current salary and my pension amount I would enjoy being in the travel business in one way or another.

Anyone else ever considered something like this?

See if you can give tours / hook up with a tour company.  There are a certain amount of Russians / people from the FSU / foreigners who travel to Washington, D.C.  Just a thought.

There seems to be a flood of ethnic Russian people coming into the USA.   I was amazed how much Russain I heard at JFK yesterday.  I think tours in Russian would be a possiblity or anything that catered to helping Russians adapt or find things they miss.   Pay attention to the things your gal misses when you get her over here.    Some of the foods might be a possiblity, Books in Russian, Movies in Russian.   Perhaps even clothes from Russia.  I am not sure where these Russian gals find their clothes but they sure don't fit like American clothes on American women but I don't think that is the clothes.   Your business could be done on the internet or Ebay if you prefer.

Russian food and other things might be easer to find where you are.  It is not easy here in the Pittsburgh area.  I know from a Ukrainian gal I know pretty well in NH that it is not easy there.

Hi Elen,

It is not what is wrong with Russian Girls clothes it is what is right.   Russian gals look much better than our gals and just in case it was our clothes not the girls I suggested that to Son of Clyde.  I think though that it is the girls are more shaply not the clothes being better.

For all it is worth, my wife loves the quality and price of American clothes.  She gets all the stylish clothes here in NYC much cheaper than she would back home.  We shop in the Juniors department because she is a 0-1 size.  She is in there shopping with the 16 to 21 year old girls.

Bruce,

My wife also loves to travel to NYC when spring is in the the air, she says the fashions are really great because like your lady she is a size 0 to 1 now (5' 7" 118 lbs). Other wise she likes to Victoria's Secrets catalog for most of what she purchases.
