Stirlitz, Spam, and Jim
« on: January 27, 2007, 10:59:07 AM »
Well, well. It seems there is quite a firestorm brewing about the appearance of the JimsListSucks.com site.

To quell some of the rumors and speculation, let me say that I have known the site was under development for a short time. I was asked for input and advice, and I provided it. I do this often - just as I have been helping out with another site - www.online-dating-rights.com.

It seems the sites (JimsListSucks and ODR) both share many of the scripts in use here at RWD. That should not surprise anyone as those scripts are open source and available for free from the internet. Once again, I have recommended the ones which work effectively for me here at RWD - and others are free to use those if they wish.

Stirlitz seems offended at having received a single SPAM email. Well, I probably hate email as much or more than the next guy (check out the software at www.hendricom.com - "A Spammer in the Slammer") - and I still get dozens of spam messages each day. I guess I have a hard time understanding Igor getting his knickers in a twist over a single email - unless, of course, he wishes to create a furor - and this seems his intent.

Now as for the new site itself. I am quite pleased that someone has decided to address lies Jim has posted for years. Not long ago, Jim contacted me and we engaged in what he presented as an exchange designed to clear the air. Then, he proceeded to misrepresent that exchange on his site - where there is no opportunity to respond and set the record straight.

Naturally, I was offended. It inspired me to beging checking out Jim's sites more deeply than ever before. I discovered numerous unfounded allegations and claims by Jim which are out-and-out lies. So when I learned of the effort to create a site where ALL sides of the exchange might be heard (including Jim's BTW), I felt that was a just and honorable pursuit. I also agreed to promote the new site once it was operational, hence, it is actively promoted at all the sites owned by International Relations.

As far as I know, there is NOTHING published over that the JLS site which is untrue. It is all based on things which Jim has actually written. If true - and if it presents a condemning argument - so be it. I understand Jim is welcome to post there just as everyone else.

I want you guys to realize something. Jim accuses me of being "VERY bias" [sp] - and yet, if you do a search on THIS board for the author "Felice" and check out her posts from 2005 (IIRC), you will see that I was protective of Jim. When he was attacked here and elsewhere at that time, I made the decision to remove and edit posts which attacked Jim. I guess that *is* a form of bias - in that, I was probably showing more favoritism to Jim than was warranted under the circumstances.

Anyway - I hope that addresses your questions and concerns. I am going to lock this topic.

- Dan
