Restaurants in Kiev
« on: February 20, 2007, 09:52:26 PM »
I had my girl email me our favorite  , located  in the center area , above the underground mall .  Here it is  .
"Reshelje"

There's a traditional Ukraine  restaurant  with a balcony , very very good food
 "Lipskiy Osobniyk" str. Lipskaya

I asked her for a name to another good restaurant  we ate at
I don't remember this one , but , I guess we ate  at it  and if she says it's good , it's GOOD
Stake- house "Soho"

Of course you'll have to  print this  out  and take it with you on your next trip to Kiev .
Or , email this to your   email account   and you'll have it where ever you are in the world .

I wish I could remember the small Ukrainian restaurant I went to. It was in the basement of a building, very rustic looking with wood paneling everywhere, a stone fountain and waitresses wearing traditional clothing. I paid over 650 grivna for 4 people. The food was good and the prices reflected it. I am terrible with names especially cyrillic ones.

Many restaurants in Kiev are in basements , with outside  seating in warmer months .
I would love to go there in spring , maybe I will

I wonder why my friend found all of the restaurants in Kiev to be mediocre. Perhaps his date didn't take him to anywhere fancy?

So tell us prince charming,

What have you done to tell this girl about your friend?

I wonder why my friend found all of the restaurants in Kiev to be mediocre. Perhaps his date didn't take him to anywhere fancy?

Every trip I go at least once!!!!

Fancy? What was your pal's travel budget, $.75 per day? He's lucky he was able to afford shawarma from a roadside kiosk.

I have been to the old MODA BAR many times. I usually took a date. There were less professionals than at River Palace. It has changed names in the last few months.

Used to be pretty funny. I would go to an AFA social at Rus Hotel and then see some of the same girls 2 hours later set up for business at River Palace

I have no idea but he complained that the food cost the same in Kiev as New York City. Apparently there was no bargain there.

Not even MacDonalds.  :o

PA, I know it's exciting and unique to you to actually know a person who made the journey to Ukraine to meet a woman (WOW!) - especially since I'm absolutely certain you'll never do it yourself - but there's no need to do a second-hand TR based on his sad, trifling experiences.

Not that it matters, but there are MANY inexpensive restaurants in Kiev, so unless your friend wants to come here and list his dining venues, you (as usual) know not of what you speak. I'm sure you're unaware of it, but you're like a guy standing on a street corner happily and unwittingly giving bad advice to everyone who stops and asks for directions. It might be funny in another setting, but you have the potential to send people careening down a one-way street.

Now that I see others here are intervening when you try to give crappy and unfounded advice to new members, I can safely put you back in my "IGNORE" cigar box.

That is right up there at the top of your huge list of inane comments.

How about answering the question regarding your friend that I asked earlier? How about taking some responsibility for your actions?

I expect that if I get an answer at all it will have nothing substantive in it and you'll go back to posting your very well thought out and highly relevant posts helping out more men with your vast and impressive experience.

Going back to see how I can vilify some more poor innocent souls now.

Me, I am here in SLC. I haven't been to the FSU yet but plan to do so during late 2007 or early 2008.

Yeah, I already have talked with my friend and apparently they seem to hit it off completely. In fact, she knows all about the stuff that he's involved in and well, ironically she will be coming here soon in May to NYC for his birthday.

So that's the update. I will post accordingly.

First: Did you get this information from her or from him? Was she ever told about this stuff in reality or do you just have his "say so" on it?

Second: How will she be coming in May? Has she already got a visa?

Nope I got the word from her apparently. Anyways, I posted the trip report for your liking and scrutiny [sic]. This is for real.

Enjoy that and provide feedback accordingly.

PA - I pulled you off the ignore list a while back.  You actually are entertaining.  Just stay away from spouting your liberal drivel (I assume you are supporting Osama for the Democrat party nomination).  I hope you actually do make it to the FSU and do make it back to tell the tale.  *You actually do stand a good chance of getting to Alfie heaven if you are smart enough to immediately travel to Kyrgystan or Khazakstan.

Oh, restaurants in Kiev are great.  Good prices for the most part and super quality.  Better food in the bigger cities I visited are another reason to visit Ukraine over Russia for all its worth.

William II - Funny on the AFA Social to River Palace sojourn.  I wonder what percentage of the men on the tour made the same journey after each social?
