RWD (IR) Management Team

This message is to formally announce that, for quite a while now (nearly a year), RWD has been a member of a larger organization and network of sites. Most of you know that RWD has a sister site in Planet-Love.com which serves the Asian and Latin geographies. Additionally, GoodWife.com is a companion site - and we recently initiated CertifiedMarriageAgencies.org.

All sites are owned by an 'umbrella' organization called International Relations - IR for short.

IR was formed some time ago, and operates now as a formal partnership. There are 5 members other than me. The partners were chosen, by me, for their knowledge, attitudes, and ability to be productive.

The reason for the announcement is several-fold.

For one, I want to provide the information so that RWD members are aware that for quite some time, I have not been making decisions in a vacuum. All partners play an important role in the day-to-day decision-making at RWD - and certainly in any and all major decisions.

This holds me accountable to a management team as well as to the RWD membership.

The other thing it has done is allowed me to take some time away to deal with a few significant personal matters - which I may need to do again in the near future.

In practical terms, this represents no change to anything for the members of RWD. The members of the Management Team have been long-term contributors, and their role in the decision-making has been ongoing already for many months.

Oh - one more point which is probably important. Of the members of the Management Team, there are no agency owners. Everyone is either gainfully-employed in endeavors NOT related to MOB, or retired from careers NOT related to MOB.

Yes, they are all regular contributors and have been since the very early days of RWD.

No-one is trying to be terribly mysterious. The simple facts are these (and some of this I have not shared openly in the past):

* When RWD started, I needed occasional help. A few of the members back then offered to help - but we did not want to rob from their enjoyment of the board by assigning official "Moderator" title - and all the crap which accompanies that.

* As RWD grew, I needed yet more assistance, and added a few people to work with me.

* The assistance evolved over time to where I was exploring options and asking advice - and it simply grew into a more formal arrangement.

* More recently a different kind of issue has surfaced. I've been dealing with some medical issues, and the need for RWD to have a succession plan became VERY important a week or so ago. Thankfully, the need seems to have diminished a bit - but it is always a good idea to have a plan in place and actionable - and we do.

Whether or not the guys choose to mention who that are is really unimportant. Since it has been effective for months, it makes no difference in the day-to-day here - and we have seen vibrant and dynamic growth in the time the other guys have been working with me. Mostly, we all just pull together to do what needs to be done and the majority is 'grunt' work.
