What's rewarding about being married to a RW?
« on: March 21, 2007, 09:29:16 PM »
All,

What is rewarding about being married to a RW?  (or UW)  What did you expect when you started and how is it now that you are married?  Has it changed over the course of your marriage?
Please indicate how long you have been married in your reply.

In a word: Everything!

...okay, more words. If you get the right woman and you are the right man for her then take all that you have ever hoped for and all that you have ever dreamed of, triple it, multiply it to the 10th power and you might be getting close.

challenging.. amazing.. loving.. she knows me better than i know myself, this sometimes overly critical, argumentative, stubborn woman that i share my life with...

... and i don't think i could have it any other way.  Because through it all, she loves me as no one ever has before.

I may complain sometimes, but I'm truly blessed to have her.

Zhena, you are for sure a little shit! Where I live this is a 'complement' I am not yet married to Anna....but, I can promise you that as soon as we can become legal partners in life...we will! Anna, is a very kind, loving, friend to all and very serious about her future.... Anna, is very loving but, she stand's back just a little to see if I will fufill my end of our deal? I can only tell you that she is so much of a true person from with inside...that she makes me even more of a truthful person ...and I would die for her life to be saved.....Anna, is my one and only true love....and I will prove my love for her as long as my life exists on this planet, that we call 'earth' .....

What did I expect?  I had no expectations of my marriage to a RW to be any different from a marriage to an AW.  Boy, was I wrong.  It is as different as night and day.  Some of it is good, and some of it isn't.  My wife Lena seems much more dedicated to me and to our marriage than my ex American wife.  The love is stronger and the dedication unquestionable.  But as many up thread have indicated, it is a bit of a rollercoaster ride too.  These women are strong, stubborn and resilient.  No shrinking violets for sure.  I often think that Sheryl Crow wrote her song "Are you man enough to be my man?" about RW.  RW are not for the faint of heart.

It has not changed in the 8 years of marriage either.
