SNOW !!!!!

Not much, only lasted about a half hour.
Started out as snow, then changed to small hail & a little rain towards the end, strangest dang weather I've seen since I been here!!
Today the sun is shining & the temperature is rising!  ???
The #1 lesson I have learned living in Tver - Never leave home without your umbrella!!!

Two day's ago client wrote from St. Pete, said it was snowing.

But in ST PETE, there was *** NO SNOW *** for the New Year holiday.  Warmer winters and uncertain springs.  Wild weather for those in the east, too, eh?

Guys, can you believe a little over a month ago I was telling you of snow in Ukraine and Russia.

It is official now, this has been the hottest May in Ukraine in over 100 years. Over the past few weeks Zap, Kherson, Nikolaev were sweltering. And Kiev hasn't been so much a joy as well although we have had afternoon rain showers the past several days that have helped.

In Moscow two days ago they had the hottest day in it's history. Prior to that I was in Moscow on it's previous hottest day on July 13th , 1996 where several people died that day to heat stroke.

It has been so hot here it is unbelievable!
I never was one for excessive heat & find it pretty uncomfortable. I suppose those from the southern regions would find it much to their liking.

Richard it is not so much that we like the heat, few do, it's just that we are used to it.  These people in this part of the country just do not see tempertures of 95, 98, 100, it's un-heard of.  The heat wave of 1996 that killed several in Moscow, you know what the high temp was?  It as 96 degrees (I think about 35c).  And at 96 people were having a hard time.  A few days ago, more deaths in Moscow and the high temperture, 97.   97 in Texas in late July and August would be considered a cool day. ANY day less than 100 we consider a cool day, really.

I know the heat has effected the number of ladies we would normally see out walking in the day. Now they are out walking after 9pm.   

A week or two ago on a Saturday was walking along Suvovora street in Kherson, this is the main street where you see lot's of people, outside cafe's, short skirts, life in general.  The street, from about 11am up until 6-7pm had very few people all day. This was an eye opener. During this heat, which was cool by a Texas boy's standards, these people did not even want to be outside.

Can you imagine what the temp might be in July and August around here?  Many people have already started talking about this and hoping it will not get hotter. It will be interesting to see if it does. If so it will effect those hoping to meet many ladies in what I call and consider a natural setting.

No & I certainly don't want too. The temperature in Tver on Tuesday hit 39, bloody uncomfortable & yes the streets were virtually deserted until late evening & the sun went down. But even then the temperature didn't drop a whole lot.
Stores selling fans are making a killing!!!
You Texas folk can have this heat. I'm no more used to it than the local folks. Being Canadian I'm actually quite comfortable at 17-20 Celsius which ya'll probably think is winter, LOL. 
No matter how cold it gets I can put on more clothes to stay warm or turn up the heat. But when it gets hot I can only take off so much to cool down before I get arrested!!

believe it or not, it can be between 38 and 40 in dallas , if I am outside in the shade, I will have no visible moisture on me from sweating. But step in the sun, and life changes very quickly.

And yes it was very hot and humid in Nikolaev last week.
