Increase in HIV rates in Russia
« on: May 15, 2007, 11:04:15 PM »
I ran across this article about the increase in HIV rates in Russia:

Russia warns AIDS epidemic is worsening
Russia's AIDS epidemic is worsening with as many as 1.3 million people infected with HIV as the virus spreads further into the heterosexual population, Russia's top AIDS specialist said on Tuesday.

Eastern Europe's Deadly HIV Problem

http://www.statista.com/chart/16254/new-hiv-diagnoses-per-100000-people/

Saturday marks World AIDS Day which aims to promote awareness of the disease and mourn those who have died from it. The event came into existence in 1988 and it has been widely observed by health officials, governments and non-governmental organizations since then.

One aspect of HIV which needs to be highlighted more frequently is its growing infection rate across Eastern Europe and Russia in particular. According to new data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and World Health Organization, there were 71 new HIV diagnoses per 100,000 people in Russia last year. Ukraine came a distant second with 37 while third-placed Belarus had 26. The lowest rates of new diagnoses per 100,000 people were recorded in Bosnia and Herzegovina (0.3), Slovakia (1.3) and Slovenia (1.9).

I read an article somewhere on the internet a few years ago that WM should be careful I Ukraine because of HIV. Apparently it can be rife with STD's there including HIV. I think the situation was supposed to be quite bad around Odessa. Many foreigners go there for sex tourism and many don't use condoms including locals and they really should.

In the UK the rates tend to be low these days. Sex is off the menu in many parts as girls focus more on careers and get scared away by thoughts of STD'S, HIV, etc even if using protection.

Treatment of course is far better these days than in the 80s & 90s so people can live longer with it but still I hear if can be a big impediment to life. Getting it while young is probably the worst as the older you get the less time on the clock you have anyway. Still I think everyone  particularly WM though need to watch out in Ukraine, Russia, etc and always take precautions until both are in a permanent trusting relationship and have been tested. Contracting it even as an older guy could severely inhibit ability to make future relationships.

HIV/Aids has always been a problem in Russia and it's something every visitor must know if they're traveling to that part of the world. Take precautions and use condoms.

Intravenous drug use is amazingly high in Russia and this is reportedly the reason for the increase in HIV and aids. Another reason not to do drugs in Russia. Not to mention that going to prison for drug use in Russia means a long time in a Russian prison.

Govt stats prove YET ANOTHER Trench howler ...((

http://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-data-reveals-420000-cases-of-stis-diagnosed-in-2017

STI rates are stable or rising..in the case of syphilis

"A report published by Public Health England (PHE) reveals that while the overall rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) remained stable in 2017 compared to 2016, there was a 20% increase in syphilis (from 5,955 cases in 2016 to 7,137 cases in 2017)."

As some may note... sex is something  Trench seems to be missing out on (particularly with the 'unattainable' and attractive UK lasses)...but may be the should be 'glad'.....?

PS it's been STI's ..not STD's for decades....

This was a public service bulletin to counter Trench bollox re life in the UK

I'm pretty certain by his posts here that Trench's "experience" with women, UK or Ukraine, is restricted to one tart from Ukraine.

Now, real life experience is subjective.   Statistics are not.

I grew up in a rough neighbourhood.  Of the six families on my block with children who grew to adulthood there, 2 families had children that went to university - mine and the family of Hong Kong immigrants from across the street.  The rest all ended up in jail - drugs, theft, murder.  Most are now dead - poor choices, but half of them were murdered.  It is very sad, to see so much potential just wasted.

These days, I live in an upper middle class suburb, surrounded almost exclusively by other professionals.  I've seen my children, and those of my neighbours, grow up.  One child grew up to be a punk - a drug dealer who eventually will end up in jail, but the other dozen families all had children who are now in university, or finished university and are working as engineers, physicians, teachers, in IT, etc.  Just a world apart.  I rarely encounter anyone outside my professional bubble, where everyone is polite, and if not living an average life of going home to family, they at least attempt to hide their indiscretions.

So, did the world change drastically by the time I grew up, so that all those kids from rough neighbourhoods suddenly became well educated?  Turned around in jail?  Didn't get in bar fights or stab their fathers in drug induced paranoia?  Which reality "in the trenches" that I experienced is real?

STDs are exploding in Ukraine.  It has the highest rate of HIV infection in Europe, and it is not primarily among gay men.  Ukraine has explosive rates of syphillis and chlamydia.  In this backdrop, you note that condom use is uncommon, and that is because in many ways, Ukrainians are ill educated.  That is why UW aren't asking you to use a condom.  It has nothing to do with a mindset.

This post was composed without the aid of google.

the  govt stats showed that Trench's  'experiences '  were just more of his  wack job 'theories'.. That you might try to support his misleading posts backs up my stance as to the misleading and ill-informed twaddle you collectively peddle.

Scarily condoms have always been unwanted by the woman in all my f s u relationships.  Thinking I had a for ever marriage I had a vasectomy.  F s u women have a completely different mind set to ww.

I had a vasectomy  to prevent creation of more kids....like most guys..  Condoms are on sale in the FSU ......  Wise couples ( where the guy produces no live sperm) use them or abstain from certain aspects of sex until they know they can dispense with condoms..

Kindly note, I was not wise and hence my advice....   based on my experience..

Get tested together...   having her help you produce your ejectulate sample is better than trying to jerk off in a cubicle with a porn

Std sti gum  tires tyres.  Professionals use all these terms presently.  The mark of a professional you know all the acronyms for all the decades plus their foreign equivalents

Professionals can spell and string recognisable, coherent sentences together...

Responding to inaccurate and / or misleading  posts with fact is not 'trolling'...
