How I spent the Memorial Day holiday
« on: May 28, 2007, 01:59:14 PM »
If you guys want to marry a RW I highly recommend you take some shop classes and learn to paint cars.  I shoulda been mowing the grass this weekend, but that woman really thinks the word "Bumper" really means that.

My Memorial Day was a lot more fun, JB....

Had beer and lunch with another poster here at RWD, then hit the beach.

We need days like this more often!!!!  :D LOL

LOL,,,l took those pics just before I sprayed the clear coat, It came out pretty good.  It ought to last at least 6 months before I need to re-do the front and back bumpers again.

My grandfather used to be a tugboat captain for the old New York Central RR. Cruised the Hudson river in NY. You know how they hung those huge old tires along the gunwales? To help with all the scraping between vessels? Just hang a few on her car and tell her they will not come off until she has gone 6 months without an accident!!

And BTW, that RWD poster was our very on Gator!   On line, I know him as a thoughtful, intelligent, and experienced man.

In person, I found the same qualities.  It's nice to meet people in real life that we chat with in the RWD world.

BTW-- my girl Marina was CHARMED by Gator!  She loved him  :D

Did she talk you into buying new pairs of shoes as memorials to each dead ancestor?

My wife and I spent much of the Memorial Day weekend with m&m and her significant other, Mark, who travelled from their home in the UK for a week of vacation in NYC. We had an absolute blast and will meet them again tonight after I get off work, where we plan to raise a glass to Leslie and Ste. Rumor has it Simoni may also join us, hopefully one of us will have a relative nearby who can post bail, if necessary  :D

Ya better watch out for that guy! If anyone will land you all in jail it'll be him. Lots of biker gang affiliations and I also hear connections to the Texas Mafia... ;D

Have a wonderful time! Tell m&m that we're still here if she ever wants to stop in and say "Hi".

Rumor has it correct  :D   I put Marina on the flight to Kiev yesterday, and now I am free to drink my heart out!  Watch out, New York!!!

Yep, this Texas boy is already drunk, between (1) looking up at the sky at the tall buildings of Manhattan, and 2) staring at the hot girls walking up 5th Avenue!  Shhh.....don't tell Marina I said this!!!   :D  LOL

OK the girls are watching Beauty and the Beast while Simoni and I sink a few pivos in the interim (this is groov, sharing a laptop). Too bad they didn't have enough seats for us to attend such a heartwarming, poignant theatrical experience, so we're stuck drowning our sorrows in beer...

I remember, I had to change 4 bumpers, 2 front doors(on different occasions), 1 back door, and witness a flying mirror within first 3 years of driving... Those were days full of fun... (I drove about 150 ml a day at that time)...

Anyways, back to Memorial Day weekend. I spent it waiting for a dish network guy from 8 till 2PM (they promised that he'll show up before 12. From 2 till 4Pm I had several unforgettable conversations with dispatchers and managers (apparently guy reported that nobody was home, while I even kept my door wide open waiting for him. Later, we discovered that he went to the wrong address...) It was a bummer, because that day Macys had additional 40% off on the top of 50-65% clearance discounts. That was a double bummer... :(
