They have spent a fortune on dressing out the old Republican Stadium.

We watched the dress rehersal (semi-final) on TV last night.

The big event is staged on Saturday night.  25 inane pop songs.  Ruslana won last year.  This year my money is on Moldova.  The babushka with the big drum will knock em dead !

I love Eurovision. Its so bad that its good! Quite disappointing that in the last few years I don't recognize any singers from Russia. They are now into sending people from 'Fame Academy' to represent Russia on Eurovision. But I am glad that Jordan didn't go through to sing for the UK - last year it was so embarrassing to watch how British duet was singing out of tune! BTW last year I predicted that Ukraine would win, its a shame I didn't put any money on it. :(

Elle,

The entry from UK was nearly as bad as last year finished 3rd last.  I was joking about Moldova.  So bad it was good - finished 6th!  Of course the favorites - Greece won.  We will hear "secret lover" all the time for the next couple of weeks.  Hey but anything is better than hearing "amarillo" again

I really think these boys deserve a prize of some kind.  If nothing else but a firm and friendly pat on the back.

I've played this over several times and I really chuckle when the doors of the Skid-O-Can open.  It's no wonder women perfer the warrior.  What's not to like?

jb,

I felt so bad for you that you didn't get any replies that I showed this to Mark and he loved it. He laughed his pants off. He said that original with Peter Kay was very good but this version even better. The choreography was brilliant. :D

JB,

"I really think these boys deserve a prize of some kind. If nothing else but a firm and friendly pat on the back."

Think the MOD was thinking of a court martial.  So many people were playing this vid that it downed a "secure" MOD server network!

I hated the rerecorded Peter Kaye version of Tony Christies 1970s hit.   Yikes is there nothing better to play on the radio?

The Eurovision hit looks like being a commercial flop....

Bring back Ruslana
