T.G,

You beat my defense of you by 14 seconds, and now I am on another page.

Thanks for your defence of my anyway Gator.

My upbringing was much like yours.  We had one Chinese family in town and they ran the laundry and were never seen outside of it.   We had 13 black family's who all lived on the same street.  My High School had two black students of of about 950 students.  One of the two was in my home room and was a very nice and popular girl.  Still I had very little exposure to people with other ethnic backgrounds growing up.   I think it left me with a little curiosity about them.  In college one of my good friends was black and another Chinese.

Growing up in the Park Cities,,, University, and Highland Park,,,Dallas TX,,, If anyone is from Dallas they will understand...  we were locked into the system, dating a women of color was not part of the program.  It just never occured to me to marry outside my race.  I have many Mexican friends, but I would never marry a Mexican.  It isn't a racist thing,,, it's a cultural thing.

Sando,
Though I work at Boeing, I have no special inside knowledge, just what I read in books, magazines and newspapers about the aerospace industry.

Gator,
Yes, many American aerospace companies do business with Airbus.  I had a supplier that normally sends me a list parts shipped to Boeing accidentally send a list of parts shipped to Airbus instead.  I know of another company that makes parts for the Airbus A380.  The aerospace industry is a small one and there are only so many suppliers.  That is why when one has a major problem like the A380 delays that affect the supply base, it can indirectly affects the other, though I know of no specific case.

jb,
I was replying to some questions from Gator and Sandro earlier in the thread.  As I said, it was off topic.

There where a pool among Russian youths last year about what they're future dreams and goals where. Most boys wanted to be a traffic police, 20 % of the girls wanted to be prostitutes and 50% wanted to find and marry a forreign man.....
Could you please post here a link to this poll?
When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I didn’t speak up, because I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

When I was in school, I remembered the drills where we would have to get under our desks...I wondered then....why are they so mad at us....why would they want to hurt me and my family?....Now I know about government....I am so glad that my curiosity took me to a country that I feared from parents, teachers and news media.....Only to find the truth and the love of my life.....I have been re-educated on my 'Dime'.....I would spend much more to do it again and again......As jb has said so many times....FSU Women are not for everyone....but she sure is for me!!!

And the rows and rows of drums containing potable water stored at the schools.  I always wondered what getting under the desk would accomplish as well.

Things have changed. . .

Just a quick followup:

T/G - I knew you were kidding with the racist pig thing even without the smiley, no worries.

General - While I have dated women from almost all ethnic backgrounds in the past, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Indian, Black, those from Wisconsin, White, and even a native Alaskan woman once, I have simply come to the conclusion that I prefer a caucasian woman for my wife.  Don't know why, has nothing to do with racism (of course), it's just a preference, same as I prefer a woman with long hair (versus short), but not that I wanna open that can-o-worms.  IOW, it didn't start out this way, but it sure ended up here. :)

macman, yes....thank God, that some of us have stepped through the fog.....Where we go from here...only one know's but, I for one am happy to know that I am in fact in love with a special woman....and I know for fact, that she is in love with me......If this may in fact...not be the truth......then so be it.....for now, I am as happy as one can be....and I hope that all of us women and men can be as happy as I feel today....I will give my all....and if it fall's apart before my eye's.....then at the least.....I will know that I give it my all....Wayne.

Bro Wayne,

I could not be happier for you and when issues arise, in which they will, you have one thing going for you already:

MM, it is not going to be an easy street....this I know.....but, I cannot help to look into her green eye's and only feel love and yes it takes much, much patient's....Love....the feeling may last a short year....but true love is a life time.....I pray that my love for her last until I leave this world.....I pray that she will love me until I leave this world....As I can only speak for myself......I will give my all to her, in respect, love, and I hope that we become best of friend's......For now....I will have to gain her up-most respect......this will show in time......Her true friendship is what I desire the most......from there we can begin our life as one......this I want more than anything......Wayne

Wayne B,

Each and every day you show her what she means to you. Simple and difficult as hell. We're going on 2 1/2 years now and no matter what is going on the main thing we do together is to make sure that what we are doing is for the best for our future.

She is your world. You are her world. Nothing else is important. Nothing!

The first time I met my in-laws we were discussing how we would practice hiding under our desks in the event of a nuclear attack from Russia.  My MIL told me that they were doing the same thing in the event of a nuclear attack from the US.
