Hello Everyone, Getting that first post out of the way.
« on: July 28, 2007, 07:57:40 PM »
Hello Everyone,
My name is Michael and I have been using your sight for information about RW for almost 8 months now, just looking behind the scene and gathering information. I first found the sight doing research on a scammer and needless to say it was a great lesson to learn. Did not loose any money but found out allot about the process and what to expect while on my adventure.
I guess it's customary to tell about your self also, I am a computer engineer and work for one of the top 10 companies in the US, I also freelance some short time contracts on the side. I live in the newly established Casino town Biloxi. I moved here just 2 weeks before hurricane Katrina and had my new home destroyed by the hurricane. But threw the perils of rebuilding I realized I would welcome a good wife and knowing the troubles in the US with AW. I started to search for a RW with some professional business experience and also one in her 30's, As I am 46 and a realist and realize anything younger was just a pipe dream and probably would not last. After talking to about 20 women over several months of being listed on various personal sights, one night i received a note using the sights Instant messenger service, (Little did i know at that time Ol'ya would become very special to me), we talked for 6 hours that first night. We talked the next week only with the instant messenger and then she went and bought a camera and we started video conferencing every day twice a day. Usually it turned into hourly events, it's just great that we both have jobs that allow us to us the computer all day and we can speak during working hours. Guys just like the AW when you find the real RW; it's as natural as anything else in life. You will know it! The first month we talked over 120 hours. She would talk to me during her work in Moscow, and also during her afternoons and nights which was the start of my morning work day. This woman is every thing I ever wanted in a life partner and she just makes me think about her every minute. It's been that way now for going on 3 months and we have never missed a day or a night no matter where we were or what we was doing. To say quite honest we have grown quite close, very close. I am going to see her in the last part of August and we both have planned a month vacation. Her company has two locations in Moscow and in Blagoveshchensk, Where she got transferred almost 5 weeks ago. We are almost the serious couple now and we know each others life's very well. Ladies and Guys, I just wanted to tell you all, about my relation with Ol'ya and also some information about me. So from Biloxi, Hello to all...I hope to get to know you all in the future. And i enjoy the sight very much.

Welcome Michael

It will be nice to hear how things go with your visit to Moscow.  I wish you the best.

I will be in Moscow August 20-22, then again on the 29th.

Not sure how serious you have talked with your woman about marriage...  but you may want to brush up on the K-1 visa procedure and evidence required for your petition - just in case you decide that is the direction you are going.

Hi David,
I leave Atlanta on a non stop flight to moscow on the 18th. And will fly from moscow another 7 hours on Domodedovo Airlines to Blagoveshchensk or (Blago) on the 19th. After our trip to china, i hope to plan a river trip from Moscow to St Pete visa a small yacht. We have planed this trip for some weeks now and have most every thing set up. And after we return we are going to spend some time at her home office in Moscow. We have put some talk into the K-1 and K-3 but we still have some face to face talking to do on this issue. And thanks David for the reply.

Make sure that your russian visa is multiple entry if you plan to leave the country and then return.  The standard tourist visa is for one entry only.

I'm not sure about visa requirements to where you're traveling in china but you should make sure that is in order also.

Michael,

I guess it's a little late to welcome you to RWD as you've been here awhile so how about "Nice to finally meet you!"

I hope that everything goes very well for you both on this upcoming visit! I understand about wanting to get the K1/K3 information so you know what you are facing and also that you both now have some real feelings and high hopes behind the letters and talks and it can be very easy to jump in head first "knowing" that everything is going to be perfect.

Just remember that this will be a first time for you to have real face time and it may be exactly as you both expect but it also may be very awkward and uncomfortable. It is entirely okay if it takes more than a trip or two to decide that you both want to take the next step.

Again I do wish you a wonderful time and that you are both exactly what you are each looking for!

Thanks Ken,
Yes i understand About the Visa's and the meeting also, but we have talked about the subject and we agreed that we should wait (as everything now seems perfect for the both of us) But we have some issues to talk about with the visa's. I tell you that i have looked for a woman like her for a while, here in the states and abroad. So making this relationship go smoothly and taking care to do everthing right is important to me, And also for Ola.

Good for you both Michael!

Sounds like you both have a good handle on the path forward. I'll be looking forward very much to your trip report!

Hi Michael,

Congratulations on your developing relationship with Ol'ya.  I hope all goes as you hope, but try not to have overly highly expectations.  These things take time.  Still, it sounds like you have a good handle on the situation and I hope one day that you will join the married guy group.

Hello There,

Posting for the first time as I consider searching Eastern European countries for a woman that is compatible and willing to eventually make the journey across the ocean if things are right.

I do think this site provides great insight into relationships with a culture that I limited understanding of.  My boy is married to a women from Ukraine and after five years of marriage, I see that they are happy and his wife a devoted partner in their marriage.  She is a traditional woman, whose values are basically to take care of my son and their family.

I look forward to future posts on this site and reading everyone elses experiences.

Lastly, I don't know if I can ask this...but are there a few sites that are recommended as a place to find a woman in the 53 to 60 age range?  And if so, how can I begin an email or phone relationship without paying the fee for every letter that I send?  Thanks for your help.  Bob

Bob,

Although there are alot of "free" sites around, and many swear by them, there is something to be said for a little "agency" help if it is your first trip to Russia. In the long run.....a few bucks for letters, translations etc. is a drop-in-the-bucket.....for what you will ultimately spend (many thousands) on this venture. My personal recomendation is MAKSIM Agency in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia. Located about 400 miles east of Moscow in the Mariel Republic. If you like the out-of-doors.....this is a very nice place. You can pay for only the services you wish to use.....or for a package of services. MAKSIM's has a really great webiste.....with many women over the age of 40. Unfortunately Maksim (the founder) passed away this past year.......but his brother seems to be running things......as before. Good, honest agencies are hard to find.....but this is one of them. I don't have a link......just Google MAKSIM Agency Russian women.....and it should come up on the first page. Let us know what you think.

Michael,

Welcome to the board. Nice to here of your up and coming trip. I too had 1-2 hours of phone calls a day for several months......before meeting my wife for the first time. Just try to keep your expectations in check. Its amazing how much can change....or not.......during the first day of your visit. Kind-of-like a picture is worth a thousand words. Remember.....any real (as oposed to virtual) relationship really begins........when you actually meet. All of the coomunication you have had prior to meeting is a real plus...though. Good luck on your trip. I too had a real possitive feeling about my wife before actually meeting......but I had been to Russia a half-dozen times.....and a few relationships......which helped to temper my expectations.....prior to meeting. My wife and I are celebrating our "fourth" anniversary tomorrow, August 8. Again.....good luck......and don't forget to post a trip report.

Bob,

I just ran a search on elenasmodels.com for woman 45+

17 pages of 50 women each page - so 800-850 women.

I suggest you start at 45 because many of these women will be interested as well - just a guess.

Oh...  And welcome.

I used Elenasmodels by the way.

Stick around - maybe post an introduction in the icebreakers - people here will give you some more ideas.

I have a pretty strong feeling that more men met their wife or S/O through Elena' than any other single source.    I had a platinum membership there that was the best value i could have ever dreamed of.   It let me write all the women I wanted free.   Most everyone speaks highly of that site so It would be my top recommendation.

Some guys like to go the agency route and skip what they fell is wasting all the time writing letters.   Maxxim is good, Russian Pearls is good.   Tver Angels, LTP, Kherson girls. lots of good ones.

Some try a tour, particularly if they have never gone.   Most anyone would agree that the big agency tours are the worst thing you can do.  I speak from first hand experience.   I would highly recommend one small agency tour though and that is firstdream.   I was on Jack's tour last year and you do meet a lot of good ladies and have some help maneuvering through the culture/travel problems.

Good luck in your search.
