Usually, I just lurk, but it seems like a great group of guys (and girls) here, so I hope to learn from all of you.

Maybe he chooses not to tell more.  Remember, "What happens with Vegas, stays with Vegas."  :devilish:

Sorry about taking so long to reply. I had a very nice reply all typed out on friday, but my wireless decided to quit on me right as I was going to post. I'm probably the only one that has that problem, though? >:( Anyhow, I got frustrated  :wallbash: and walked away.

Anyhow, I am kind of an average guy, about like that story with Goldilocks. I'm not too hot or too cold, too young or old, or too fat or skinny. I work for a bank, have a house that is about par for the course, am a terrible golfer, and am an avid home brewer. In fact, I would love to some day start a little brewery that could grow and become the next Sam Adams, but that may be a pipe dream.

So, I have a girlfriend out here that was born in Lithuania to a Lithuanian mother and a Russian father. The parents split when the girls were young and the mother moved the girls here back in 1991. It's funny to read some of these posts because I see the same behavior in the way all of the women in that family behave.

I have never been to the FSU (is that right?), but I think it would be fun to do so. It's getting a little late this summer, but maybe next summer or even after the first of the year.

Lithuania is easy to get to and is the least "FSU" ish of the FSU countries.  You can go this fall so why not if you have a chance?  Vilnius is beautiful all year round.

My girl teaches school out here, so we're limited to going when class is not in session. Christmas is a possibility, but she says it is too cold to go then. I guess she has become rather spoiled with the mild winters here  ;D. I think she gets 2 weeks for Spring break, so that may be the closest possible time unless we wait until next summer.

Her father moved back to Russia some time after the divorce, so I assume we would go to visit him there also. I guess I have some time to work the details out.

Is Lithuania even less 'FSU-ish' than the other Baltic States?

As Lithuania is part of the EU, visiting is less of a problem and economy wise should be doing relatively good.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Spring break is very likely to be as cold and snowy as Christmas Break.  But there will be more daylight...

Yes its the least FSU-ish of the baltics simply because it has the lease % of Russians living there.  Its on my list to visit for sure.
