Hi Tech...

Season obviously has a lot to do with style but I wouldn't get too tied up with trying to look "Russian" in your clothing style.

You've been there before and things won't have changed that much...  Neat, crisp, new and fresh is a great start...  avoiding the obvious like really bright colours and anything that will make you stand out in a crowd are also bad things.

Maybe even looking at photos of streetscapes and city photos might help if want some visual confirmation.

Kuna: I am not trying to look russian, but the thought occurred to me one could make a better impression by simply being very in style when first meeting, blending in really dosn't interest me, standing out with a style that an RW would expect does.

2tallbill: Finding the similar at reasonable prices was my game plan, that link was just the type of thing I was looking for thanks.

Assume you would like to see what does it mean to be well dressed in Russia?

Hugo Boss would do. I think Russians don't quite have a unique sense of style. They look somehow at the West. Try looking up a GQ magazin or similar men's magazines.

For me unfortunately I can only buy what they have in the big and tall stores. I can't go
to the mall for example and buy clothes (except underwear). If I order something it will never fit. I have to
try it on.

It's nice to see a fellow WM take an interest in this... guys from the States so often show up looking SO out-of-place.   I agree with the "just be yourself" comment, but sadly a lot of us from here in the States (especially against the back-drop of the city streets over there) look SO sloppy sometimes.  It's fun to come across another fellow from the States while there, but so often it can be a bit embarassing hanging out with them.   I'm sure some people here know what I mean...  (Even my own luggage had a VERY different set of clothes the second trip than they did my first trip)
