VWRW wrote her view of our marriage.   Now I will write mine...

MARRIAGE TO A RW

Most everyone here thinks RW make great wives.   Otherwise they wouldn’t be here.   I have to feel that when you find the “right” RW it is beyond great.   I have found and amazing and wonderful woman and she has made me the happiest man in the world.  We had a small but wonderful wedding and we are both willing to work hard to have the happiest marriage any two people could have.   Thanks for all the good wishes.

Wonderful pictures - your light at the end of the tunnel has come - I see it in your eyes. komu kak.  Sincerest best wishes.

и взыщете Меня и найдете, если взыщете Меня всем сердцем вашим.

Congratulations Turbo and VWRW I had such a great time I decided not to go home.

Actually, my car broke down between my arrival on Saturday and Sunday morning at 9am. And Viking was the one worried about leaving early because of the weather and 6 hour drive to NYC.

Here it is Monday afternoon and Turbo and I are sitting in a Honda Service Center.

Ray and Iren I wish you the very best and a happy future together.

The ceremony and reception was great and I actually did not mind the snow at all.

A formal congratulations to both of you. It has been a long time since I saw such glowing faces. I had a great time, enjoyed the ceremoney very much, and I think Iren hardly touched the floor she was bouncing around so much. Let us know when you come up for air!!

SOC. More like 8.5 hours through 3 small storms before reaching home. Sorry about your car problems. I hope that when everything was working ok you got home safely.

Turbo, some more pics please. I know you got some nice ones.  ;D

If I was asked to describe a Russian person what constitutes American wedding, I could say that it is somewhat like Russian funeral but with a strange woman who came in white dress.

LOL!!
vwrw-  that is very funny!
and almost exactly how my wife describes the western weddings.. that we have been to  :)

I'm sure all your guests had a great time , it sounds like you really got them up on thier feet dancing !

As a culture ,in general, sadly us westerners are a bit boring in the ceremonies, or the party aspect of things  :D
I really enjoyed our wedding in Ukraine, and do like the custom of having a tamada ,and how involved the guests generally are in a Russian wedding..
Someday , maybe you should offer this type of *tamada*wedding service here!
it might take a bit to catch on,  but i'd bet it would end up a big hit.

(Ray, i want royalties if you become a kajillionare off this idea ;) )

In the FSU, this person is a sort of a master of wedding ceremony, who undertakes it to entertain guests and ensure everyone is in festive mood  :)

By the way, Turbo, would you probably consider changing your avatar photo? it seems to me that it does not do you justice...

First of all, many congrats to Turbo and VWRW. Many happy years ahead for the both of you!

My wife expressed similar sentiments as VWRW did - we got married in Australia - and when we went to our second marriage in Russia a couple of months later I understood. Complete funfare! The DVD we made is a hit, the entertainment was awesome and to be honest we both enjoyed our Russian reception 10x more than our Aussie one.

Guys getting married, consider doing it at home and in Russia - you will never forget

First off, thanks to everyone for the nice comments.

AJ, you are probably right that providing a service like that would be a great business opportunity particularly if someone lived in an area with a lot of Russian brides coming here.   I think it could have been fun to try to have a Russian style wedding but of course would not have had the slightest idea what that involved until this conversation.   With such a short time as a K-1 gives you it is hard to do too much planning.  I think too, that in our case we have virtually thought of ourselves as "married waiting for the USCIS to allow us to complete the formalities"  for a long time.

Lily, thanks for the suggestion.    It was a good one and I will see what I can do if I get some time.   VWRW has only been married a few days and probably almost feels like a widow already.   I spent most of the day yesterday with SOC at the dealership waiting why they tried to fix his car.   I will see if I can come up with a new one that VWRW and I both like.

Good thought Bobcat.  Both of us are not that fond of being the center of attention and I think in our case we will settle for one time but for those who want to create a memory that is a great suggestion.
