Greetings all!

I'm BC an american expat living in Italy married 2 years to a RW from the Rostov na Donu area. We each brought one kid into the 2nd marriage for both of us and our son was born little over a year ago.  I'm 45 and my wife is 27. I've been active on another board since 2002 and lately have not felt too good about how things were going there.  In any case I'm looking for a new 'home' and just wanted to introduce myself...

Well, folks,

Having got crossthreaded with RWG Admin one time too many, after over 5 years as a major/unpaid contributor to that fourm, I find myself in need of a new venue for my favorite topic of disucssion, namely the care and feeding of RWs.

For those who do not know me, I have made numerous trips to the Rodina, both for business and personal reasons, I have courted and wed the object of my affection after several years of cold feet and faint heart, and we will celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary shortly.  And,,, our 1st anniversary next month (Feb 14th) to mark our new nuptual vows in the Orthodox Church.  Having married the same RW twice may give me some small insight to the process, I hope I can lend something of small value to those in the process of seeking a mate east of the Danube.

Glad to meet 'cha.

Les~!!!

Honest to Gawd, I thought you'd died and gone to the bad place, you never write, you never phone.... I, for one, have missed you, you and that sorry scot's accent, as they would say in Alabama, "You sure do talk funny".

I sincerely hope that beauty you married is putting up with you, certainly you deserve all the good things she brings to you.

Cheers,

your old buddy, jb

Jack,

Thank you for the warm welcome, if you are the "jb" I think you are, we have gone 'round the bush a time or two in the past, I hope we can put that behind us.

Well, it's nice to see jb and Leslie together again. :)

jb, don't know what "jb" you are referring to, but it's not me!  ;)    What I do know about you is when talking about Moscow women do not group them all as "Moscow" women.

jb, you'll like it here. If you want to tell a newby who is wanting to send money to his honey (that he has never met)  in Yosh-Ola that he is a fool, go ahead, hit him over the head, you won't get banned for expressing your opinion.

anono,
How very nice to see you here.  It is my very qualified opinion that we are going to have some fun here.  We have a very interesting membership already.

Imagine the Newbie who checks in here and has the benefit of the experience and wealth of knowledge represented so far.
Now if I can just get my wife off the phone with Donna Pedro we can get a RW's point of view as well. :D

jb - Glad to see you're her.  You haven't given me food for thought, yet, but  then again I haven't started a new thread.  So I will soon!  Is Etna gonna hang around the pigs' trough and keep an eye on the old place?

Are we revolutionaries or revolutionists?

This is confusing to me, I thought they were the same, just different tenses of the same word.  But then, a lawyer's stock in trade is words.  I'm just a simple engineer.

I will look forward to seeing a thread from you, and I'll do my best to give you something to chew on.

Hello jb, KenC, Scott Jay, BC, Jack, anon, Leslie.

Well I will be going back to Russia early this summer for my 9th trip to the FSU. I have been engaged twice and married once to a RW. I hope this time I will find one that will stick. Jb's and Ken's advice over the past 2 years have helped me allot in understanding what to look for in a quality woman and how to be ready for it. Thank you guys!

I hope to be a positive contributor and no longer the example of what not to do. The best of luck to this new board.

Maxx

Yes, My step-son does deliver flowers and gifts in Moscow.

I do not wish to violate any rules governing advertisement on the board, so you'd have to contact us off board to discuss that business.

jb, it's ok to talk about you being able to provide this service, this isn't a hush-hush, can't say that type of board.  :)   Dan just doesn't want the blantent advertising that some do with each post. If you were an interpreter, and you mentioned in every post you were an interpreter, is the thing I think Dan and the RWD board would prefer not to have. I don't see you saying with every post you deliver flowers in Moscow, and besides, someone asked you about it, it's ok, your right, and you should feel proud to talk about it.

So jb, is their a website yet?  How would one go about paying for these services. You have credit card access, take personal checks?

Jack, (and anyone else interested)

Sorry to be so long in answering but I have a little consulting business and I sometimes have to work, even on weekends and nights.

My step-son is an engineering student at Moscow State University, going into his third year, he can and will deliver flowers and gifts within the Moscow metro area.  We had a web site, but because so few men actually go after Moscovitchkas, most seem to prefer the provencial town girls, there was little demand for his part time flower business.

We had a site,  www.gift-lady.com , but we let it go, someone else has picked up the domain name now. (please do not go to this site, it is now a hardcore porno business).

Should anyone wish to send flowers, a bunch of roses or a mixed lot, or even a gift of candy, cake or something else, to a Moscow lady, we can still accmmodate the odd order.  What a man can do is contact me off-board and place an order and send the check to me here. Dima has an account and an ATM card and can withdraw funds to purchase flowers and do the delivery.  All he needs to know is how much, what color, where, to whom, and when.  It was pretty easy, the typical order was always 13 long stemed roses, @ about $5.00 per stem, unless it was coming up on "Women's Day, (the price of flowers doubles and triples on that holiday), plus a small delivery fee.

As I said, it was always a part time gig for a college kid, never a serious effort to cut into "Flowers International", or anything like that.  Just a way to put a little piva money into a college kid's pocket from time to time.

Gee... Look at all the old farts here!

(And, of course, one who certainly doesn't fit in that catagory :))

I finally have gotten around to signing up here (with the new format -- was confused as my old link kept putting me on the old forum).

It's good to see some old friends here.  It's interesting that many of the people who have helped make my journey successful are now on the unwanted items pile at another Internet URL.  (Perhaps this is the Island of Misfit Toys? :P)  I've always been lurking at that other place, but it will be nice for us all to converse here.

To update my life for you all -- My wife and our 6 y.o. son have been here 10 months now, and tied the matrimonial knot in June.  Our son, knowing perhaps 20 words of English (and being generous here) now is in the 1st grade, is learning very quickly, loves school, and is near the top of his class in ability (and he's the youngest in his class, too!)  After getting our visa app stuck in Moscow for over 6 months, it was my shear amazement that both of them received their cond. green cards in less than 6 months.

Hello BC and everyone I think you know me from the other board. Thanks KenC for the pm. I realize I probably made a bad first impression and I plan to just chill and stay away from certain threads.

I'm in the beginning stages of the K-1 process and in two weeks I will take the application to Kiev for her signature and file it when I return home.

In the year or so into this process I have learned a lot, like not to give unsolicited advice or advice in areas I have no experience. I will leave that up to the guys who have actually completed the process.

I hope I can get off to a fresh start on this board and you will accept me as another guy who has discovered the beauty and passion of Russian Women.

I'm not here to start any problems, believe me.
