VWRW arrived in the US recently, and they seem to be settling in just fine.

 I know he has a 40 year age difference but that is his private life. He is always very respectful with his answers as I sort of gave him hell initially about it too. But he seems like a good natured guy and I wish him luck!

Your response is as expected regarding this couple. Condesending. All Dan said was they are doing fine. Sheesh. At this stage can't you just wish them some good luck and move on? Drop this already. The giving advice stage is long over. If 5 years from now they are still together and doing fine you will have some serious mud in your face. If not, THEN you can say I told you so.  As far as I know, nobody here was a working crystal ball. For now it is what it is.

Thanks for asking and for the nice compliment MSpanky.   There is a thread updating everyone on our situation.   If you have any trouble finding it let me know and i will post a link.   I believe it is in experienced.  

In a nutshell things are going great.   She has been here 5 days and we have both loved every second of it and have not had any problems.

jb,  I won't say who you love can't affect who you are but that withstanding who you are has little to do with who you love.   I am sure a simple concept like that would be hard to disagree with.

After you own experience, I'd have thought you'd be a bit more rational.

I shouldn't amaze you,,, I've always been the voice of reason in the dark.  While I recognize you would love to be in T/G's shoes with a 40 years younger hottie,,, you are just not that lucky.

My wife seems to think T/G will learn a lesson shortly about age differences.  To his great astonishment.

jb,  I think Viking is chasing women he wants to chase.   If he wanted what you would consider a young hottie I am sure he could find one.   Actually I believe I had suggested a woman to him I knew and she was younger than his target and he declined so I am quite sure he is not jealous of me.

I also think that youth can have it's benefits but I don't think it is an absolute inverse to money.  (in the sense that some think the more money someone has the better the catch they are so the inverse would be the younger someone is the better catch they are)   People are made up of a lot more than what they have in the bank or how long they have walked on this planet.  Actually age is not so important.   It is first a measure of how much experience someone has and second it is a measure of how much toll life has taken on their body and neither of those is absolute.

Tell your wife not to quit her daytime job.   Her career as a fortune teller may not be that successful.

  While I've remained one of those who've wished you and vwrw all good possible fortune, my
strong feeling is that spending excessive numbers of hours online during a thing as delicate
as a transition period could be an excellent recipe - for disaster. Just my humble opinion, yet
I'm sure you'll manage to justify many hours of "floor time" here anyhow....

You seem to have problems following how old everyone is here.  Maybe you should back off a bit on the brewski.  There have been various reports on Turbo's age with the latest at 65 while VWRW is 27.  Not 40 years difference but close.  (BTW I am 55 and Lena is closing in on 30 FYI)

There is a lot of history here and on other forums with Turbo.  Afterall it took him 10 years to convince a RW to marry him!

Needless to say that over time many have been able to get a little better glimpse into "Turboworld."  The fact that he choose to pursue a woman almost 40 years younger is controversial, of course, but also a personal decision that the two of them will have to sort out.  I kind of live in a glass house when it comes to age differences with mine at 25, but there have been many occasions when Turbo's words just have not rung true.  He will say that he did not pursue a woman so young, yet his track record proves otherwise.  His last fiancee was in her early 30's IIRC and he ran like hell from a group of RW he met that were in their 40's.  I guess "only" 25 years difference just didn't cut it.   He has consistently claimed that the age difference will not be a problem, with little or no real facts to back up his opinion.  But what the hey, good luck and God bless if he and VWRW can make it work for them.

Turbo is the ultimate "nice guy" and has taken more flak than most and with little or no retrobution.  In his efforts to be the nice guy, he has given some of the most inane and bad advice I have ever witnessed here on RWD.  He would rather tell someone what it is they want to hear rather than to try and lead them to the correct path of action (or at least a path that has been proven to be successful).  His posts are almost incoherent at times with one sentence directly contradicting another.  I am probably one of his harshest critics because I fear for the poor newbie that he might encourage into stupid and illogical actions by his "rah rah, you can do it!" posts.  There is also a history of men who failed miserably based on Turbo's encouraging words to take a foolish course of action.

That being said, I sincerely hope that Turbo and VWRW have found true love and happiness.  I wish them no ill will.  The point of no turning back will soon be upon them and I do hope they defy the long odds they face.  Time will tell.
