I'd can help you but only in August

Joe,

I can write you a letter, as long as you don't use it to scam anyone! (and if you do I want a share! :D:D)

What is a Dear John letter? I've heard of it and of Dear Jane letter, but not quite sure. I thought its more of a Good bye letter than a love letter?

How long do you want it to be?

MandM,  You got your name fixed at long last.  Congratulations.   Yes a dear John letter as he is asking about is a letter to break off a relationship and say good bye.

You never know about some of these guys.  Head over heals in love one minute and wanting to work on a dear john letter the next.  (Just kidding)

There is a link somewhere her to a site with some online lessons.  I can also recommend Rosetta Stone and Pimsleurs courses.  They are both quite good.   Russian fast and easy is available in some book stores and is cheap and not too bad.

Having spend 3 lifetimes trying to learn Russian and after that effort having mastered 2 dozen words,  I have to think a dear john letter is not the best way to learn Russian.

Look at the bright side Joe.  You already know hundreds of Russian words.  You are off to a good start.   You know taxi, kiosk, bar, babuska (grandmother)  brat (brother), telephone, and a lot more that are about the same in English and Russian.

Privet,if you can find that link please let me know,I bought some books off of amazon.com,thanks.I think it is important for me to learn the language. It will also be fun.I learned Japanese easily when I lived in Japan,it helped being around them all the time.If you can remember the links, please share them.I checked with the universities around here and none of them offer Russian classes.Take care.
You are right many of our words are the same!
