Question about Russian phone codes

Hi everyone, does anyone know if Russia has some thing like 900 numbers?  Just wanted to make sure this girl who gave me her number isn't a scam for a phone 900 pay line...  The number begins with +7 927, and another number begins with +7 912 and another one with +7 3519.  Just making sure...

I don't believe that Russia has pay-toll 900 numbers.

The first two phone numbers are most likely cellular provider numbers.

The last one is from the Chelyabinsk region, perhaps in Magnitogorsk.

The 7 is the country code of course. The 9XX numbers are cell phone numbers and they vary depending on the company. Cities either have 3 or 4 digit phone codes depending on how many numbers people dial locally. If the city phone code is 4 digits, then the local phone number will have 6 digits and if the city phone code has 3 digits, then the local phone number will have 7 digits. In small villages, sometimes the local number only has 5 digits.

In theory Russia does have toll-free numbers. The emergence toll-free number for the Canadian embassy in Russia is, for example, 810-800-201-41012 (when you make any long distance call from withing Russia you dial 8-10 and then the city code and the phone number). However, I have to admit that I never tried calling the number to check if it was truly free and if it was accessible from outside Moscow.

I have setup and used my vonage VOIP phone in Brazil and was able to continue doing some business over the internet there which
provided some income during a long stay, soooooo anyone tried to use VOIP in odessa or nikolaev or anywhere else in the Ukraine?

when i lived in moscow and st. pete in 2000/2004 i did not use voip, but theoretically all you need is about 512 kps connection speed, a little
faster than DSL is all that is necessary.... anyone know if they have decent high speed internet in nikolaev or odessa?  if anyone has
any experience with this in ukraine please post or shoot me a pm, thanks Robert.....
