Education finances
« on: October 26, 2007, 04:10:08 AM »
Hi folks,
N. has been hearing about education grants from the RW on her forums; but she has not been able to get any details.
I know from filling out the FAFSA paperwork that I make too much to qualify for any financial aid myself; but she insists that there are "special" programs for immigrants, greencard holders, etc.
Do any of you guys know of any sources or info that we can investigate? She wants to finish her Doctorate.
Thanks
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

If she wants to pursue her graduate studies in the United States, she will have to write her TOEFL and likely her GRE (Graduate Record Examination). She will have to apply to various universities, and if she is lucky, she will be accepted into a PhD program. She may have to do a Master's first. Universities usually offer bursaries and scholarships, so she will have to get in touch with those universities where she is applying for more information. They can also provide more information on other bursaries not offered through the university that she can apply for.
