What would Russian women consider weird?

The topic came up in casual responses to some questions I had earlier.  What would Russian women consider weird that we would not think twice about in social settings?  There are such vast differences in the social mores, ethics and values from East to West, what would they consider off putting??  Ladies this is especially for you.

AM and RW find each other different and unusual in innumerable ways.  Yet, that is part of the charm.

Weird?  Nothing much, dependent upon your woman.  Some possibilities:

-  Our propensity to talk openly with strangers.
-  Asking direct personal questions such as "What is your job?" or "How old are you" or "How much did that cost?".
-  Impolitely continue to ask such questions even when the person does not answer.
-  If a man is an average AM with regard to sophistication, she may think him uncouth.
-  Perhaps smile too much.
-  Propensity of European men to not be generous.
-  Some AM speaking too loudly as if they were drunken village RM.

I think you have received some good initial answers........I would add: the macro reality is that FSU/Russian culture is a very homogenous culture (not considering the Asiatic cultures East of the Urals). Hence, there is and has always been a strong bent towards conformity/group thinking/ group behaviour, etc. Hence there is a propensity on the part of FSUW to consider that which they are unfamiliar with as strange (even stupid).

Serebro's pill comments made me laugh. I have been a big vitamin/mineral/supplement user since my teenage years. I never leave
home without them. When taking my morning and evening handfull of these
"pills" I have generated a lot of surprise, consternation and wonder on the part of FSU people..........when I explain the stock reply is "Why not eat vegetables" which of course you can't argue with.

I can't speak for all RW but for me, nothing is weird in AM's behavior unless they behave in a particularly offensive, ungentlemanlike, or stupid manner.  Same with Russian, French, Spanish, Zimbabwian or any other men. 

Not taking off shoes is a minor blunder, no offense taken.  Expecting the lady to pay for herself at all times would appear a tad weirder, but it's not typically American behaviour, is it?

Not only weird but "sorry" (tacky, lame, etc.) and certainly not typical in USA. I won't EVER let a woman pay for anything when she is with me. I would be mortified to do otherwise.

not really cosidered strange ,weird, or offensive..
but a few funny things some might find a bit "different"

actually some of these are just more superstitions, and not held dear or anything-

- whistling in the house/flat
- putting an empty bottle on the table (it goes on the floor)
- having a lift that would comfortably hold a few people
- having a doggy bag offered to you by the waiter after a meal at a restuarant
- not checking and cleaning your shoes before leaving the house.
- not drinking at all 
- not knowing what a blue man is.. (no not *blue man group* lol)

You can take the bus to Russia?  And I thought the 11 hour flight was bad!!

I've been to numerous countriesnover the years, but just returned from my first trip to Russia last October and JB is correct.  You can read all the books you want and talk to everyone that's been there, but there is nothing like visiting Russia and experiencing it first hand.

Yeah Viagra is like Disneyland, you wait 2 hours for a 5 minute ride
