JB and Thomas he asked our opinion, and we give it. It is up to him to follow our advise or to think that sending the money to her will save him the logistics of a trip  ;)
No need to start calling on other nationalities...there are fools in every nation.

Freedom, I know that picture you might get. Just note that there is current a stream of scam activity from her city reported. The famous Yoshkar-Ola gang might have 'changed' named location.
The small information you give out is not hopeful, but it is your call, not our.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Then I can think about will she cheat me or not.

:)
well you might just want to meet with her, establish she is real,

and if you two even like each other in person,
and build a relationship,
long before that particular worry comes into your head..

Even Gernamy is a long distance romance..
so you will need to be a confiudent man with little worries aboytr a woman cheating on you to be successful at such a romance.   ;)

Germans are interesting people.  Some can be rather refined.  Others are just as crude as loud Americans.  There are every kind of people everywhere.

I will say this, perhaps their government knew more about Iraq than our government did a few years ago.

Now, can we return to Freedom.  Actually, I prefer not until he decides to do something.

Freedom, Let me tell you a story:  A couple of years ago an American man was exchanging e-mails and phone calls with a woman from a small village in Crimea.  He became quite enamored with her photos and her e-mails and decided to just get on a plane and go visit her as a surprise. He arrived at he airport in Simferopol at 9pm and was trying to arrange a rental car to drive to her village to go see her but was having a little trouble because of the language.  My friend, who works as a guide/translator, happened to be there, noticed his problem and offered to help.  He convinced the man that it would be nearly impossible to drive to the village so late at night and convinced him to wait until morning.  He offered to drive him to the village free of charge.  the next morning they set out and even my friend had difficulty finding the village.  The man had no address for the woman and no phone number since she said she didn't have a phone and always called him.  All he had was her name and her photo.(anything sound familiar yet?) They went around asking people if they knew of this woman with no success, then decided to stop at the one grocery store n the village because they figured they should know everyone in the village. No one there had ever heard of this woman and no one recognized the name.  It was then that this man finally realized that she had been a lie.  Fortunately his trip wasn't wasted as he arranged with my friend to show him around Crimea and he had a great time, just different than what he had expected.  When he returned home, he wrote to the woman asking about all of this but never got another e-mail or phone call from her.  Apparently he had ruined their scam by visiting before they had extracted sufficient fees for e-mail and phone translations, gifts, etc. and before they had the chance to sufficiently hook him enough to ask the money question.
So my suggestion is this:  Get on a plane and find out for yourself, but be sure you have an address and a phone number where you can leave a message for her if something goes wrong.  If she is as taken with you as her e-mails seem to suggest, she will be excited to see you and will have no problem providing this.  If she gives any excuses or suggests that you meet somewhere else, there's a problem.

Yep, Russian women love an indecisive man ::)-he should do well :selfharm:

As strong as the Euro is and only a few hours difference, I'd be going to Russia every 2-3 months not arguing with a bunch of OMB's.

I have only ran into one German and he was pretty crazy.  I was having dinner with my wife and there was a German man on a date with a Ukrainian woman at the next table. I got up and left the table to use the bathroom and he immediately started to wave my wife to come to him.  He actually stood up to get her attention while she was trying to avoid him.  I tend to look Russian so he must have thought she would just dump me for him since he was a rich foreigner.  Of course he wouldn't look at me when I returned.  I thought it was incredibly rude to my wife and the woman he was with.

If that is normal behavior than I would have to agree with you JB.

Are you serious? Let me tell you something: If I had asked my wife (or any other self-respecting women I met during my journey) to send me a photo of herself holding a current newspaper before I bought airline tix, I'd have probably received a glossy 8x10 of her middle finger and that would have been the last I ever heard from her.

I've always been a big advocate of guys protecting their backside in this endeavor, but no self-respecting young woman would comply with such a request unless she was absolutely desperate or planned to fit you for a mule suit.

To my understanding he was either American or British, but maybe he was of German descent?  :D

The only person who would cheerfully agree to your request for a photo with a newspaper would be a scammer because they have no pride to be hurt but much money to gain.

If Freedom is real we all know he doesn't have the capacity to ask a question and accept an answer...

He STILL wants to believe "the love of his life" is real... and is struggling to find ways to "make it real".

I know I said in another thread that my next post would be on my wedding... but I've just gotta interject on this one.

1. She has no phone...  BULLSH!TE!  If she has no phone ask for the number of a friend, family member, neighbour where you can call her briefly at a prearranged time.

2. She wants to call you... WITH WHAT?  She can't afford a bl00dy phone... how can she afford to call you?  Even if she does call it's just Part B of the scam!  What does it prove?  That the scammer is female or the female friend/lover/sister/business partner of a scammer.

3. There are scammers that are individuals... sure... but Internet scamming is a BUSINESS in Russia.  If you research enough you'll find many of them are well oiled money making machines.  Yes, you CAN get a phone call from a female - but that's no proof that it's not a scam.

4. If you're so in love with this woman don't you want to see her?  If you're not that interested you must only be interested in the feeling of euphoria that you get from her emails.  Stop fantasising...  get serious!

5. The newspaper idea is dumb.  It proves nothing except any woman responding is not real and genuine.  Imagine this poor sensitive soul you've fallen in love with submitting to such humiliation.  I guess she's got a digital camera though... but no phone... or whoever has the digital camera doesn't have a phone you can call her on.

6. In summary... no phone number... no trip...  no trip... no surety over her being genuine.  Even WITH a trip you've got a mountain of work to do before it's a relationship.

Based on the discussion so far give up on marriage to a RW.  Some can do it...  some can't.

They don't want to be dominated in the sense you might understand in Germany but I can promise you they will not tolerate the type of discussion merry-go-round that has been going on here either.  After a very short time you will be labeled as "crazy" and written off forever.  That's the best outcome you can aim for IMHO.

Good luck in the future!

Kuna

here is Zvenigovo in the Mari El map, on the south at the river, right next to the very southern town Volzhsk. Yoshkar Ola is shown by a big red spot.

You dont understand what I mean. How can she be hurt? I never said that she is a cheater but the point is a punk could use her photo and she doesnt know it. Thats what I carefully explaint to her. And she had no prob with it. I said if she want I give her the same photo from me. If she wants to go with me we both should be as safe as possible. Cant really find nothing suspect or hurting in this.....

Ok, spring next year, but what does she think how are you supposed to find her in town? Would she want you to show her photo to everyone around on the streets asking '..don't you know how can I find this girl in Zvenigovo?'

Freedom why wait 6 months when you can go and meet with just 2-3 days free from work ?
You are not going on a tourist trip, you are going to meet a potential life partner. Within the coming month there will be enough occasions
to make a 5 day trip that will cost you nothing more as the trip it self.

Also note that a newspaper pic is one of the easiest things to fake with Photoshop.

I have here at the moment on business a lot to act. 5 days is a long time I can go only in the next spring. Then at most 5 days.
Notice, no one fakes me with Photoshoped pics. My close friend is a PC freak he works for the German Secret Service ;D
