Hi,
My name is Steven, I'm 36yo, single parent for the past 10 years, I have a 10yo son
I was born and raised in Belgium, some very small country in the middle of Europe
I was alone for long time taking care of my child all by myself (with little help from my parents ofcource)
last summer, I went on some small vacation in Turkey
there I see lots of Russian couples, they where on vacation as well in the same hotel
so I decided to get in contact with Russian woman when I got home because I see these woman where
allot different then the European woman, the Russian woman looked to me more mature, honnest, trusting
and sure more beautiful then the European woman
so I came home from vacation and I started to search internet to find Russian community sites like this one
and other site's with profiles from Russian woman who was just like me trying to find love and partners
I did find some bad and good site's, made myself some profile and started to talk with some Russian woman, learning about there ways of live
while in the same time I was also learning more about the country Russia to


and guess what...

the thing I could never hoped for I did found on that site
I started to talk to one girl with digital post cards on that site
sending and receiving them every day more and more
at some point we could hand over our private e-mailadress
so we could start sending bigger letters
but we chosen to start talking on ICQ and WLM
sending each other some decent pictures
talking about our past and present
and we talked about the wishes we have for our future
and it all matched up together
so in the end
and that is why I post this message

I would like the world to know that this not so important guy from some terrible small European country called Belgium is the most lucky guy in the world because since some time ago now
I have found the most wonderfull, smart, intelligent, pretty, good looking, beautiful, warm hearted, lovely, sweet and amazing girl in the world

she told me about this site some time ago and she allowed me to read her own posts she placed here some time ago before we met each other

so some people will know her to on this forum

and I wanted to place this post so that everybody knows I love her so much and that I will never take back my words and promisses I made to her

she is really the best a man can wish for

I want all the guys to know that if you found that special one like I did, just go for it, you live only once and a treasure like I have found comes along only once in your life so don't let her slip away and take good care of that woman because she deserves it

and to you my sweet love (you know who I'm talking about)

I just want to let you know that I love you so much and say to you again that the promisses I have made you will last forever and that this is my way of letting the world know how happy I'm really am to have found you

Also, just a bit of an alert. Some of the most contentious and difficult topics at RWD have occurred when a couple has joined RWD. Without recounting some of the problems, it is safe to say that the vast majority of such couples have led to major debacles of various sorts. I don't mean to discourage you at all - quite the contrary, in fact. I hope you and your lady are able to both participate here productively and share with us your experiences, but you should know the history so that we are able to make your experience here a positive one.

I must add to my introduction that we did not yet meet in real live but the date is set and she is going to visit me in Belgium from 29 DEC 07 till 07 Jan 08

and she wants to wait till after that time and I can not blame her
she had some pretty good arguments

As you said, she is smart.  

So you have not yet met!  It is best at this stage that she stay under the radar.  Also, I suggest that you refrain from further comment.  

Steven, you have a bad case of RW fever.  You are not the first man with this fever.    Calm yourself before she arrives, have a good time together, get to know each other, and then see how you feel.  Hopefully it is mutual love.

Congrats on discovering the "wonders" of RW...

As Gator said RW Fever is a reality and it would be really interesting to dig into the root cause on day...

I can assure you that all of us felt the same way to an extent before our first trips or meetings but it is wise (for our own good) to manage the feelings with our heads before we let our hearts run away.

Before my first trip I'd spent time corresponding with a few girls but one stood out.  Still, I forced my head to lead because I felt like it was a safer route.
All of my dreams did come true after I met My Wife on my first day in Ukraine... others haven't been so lucky.

We need to acknowledge the Internet speeds things up and distorts reality when compared with face to face meetings and traditional dating.

Take time... enjoy the experience... learn as much as you can...  and try to lead with your head not your heart. Everyone will benefit.

Welcome to RWD and good luck over the Xmas period.  If you've met a single female member of RWD you're likely to have found an absolute gem - and that's half the battle in this journey.

Whoever the unknown woman is, I think she reads this forum and I would like to say her that from my observation I made conclusion that men who are quick to give promises usually do not keep them and in generally often are not reliable. 

Of course, I hope my observation is wrong or at least the xStevenx is an exception.  In any case, welcome to the RWD!

She fumbled for words and apologized. But seriously, are you guys good lovers? The secret has to be in the Belgium chocolate you guys eat!

Steven, what if the woman who is going to meet you not who you'd expect in a partner? What if you sense you're not what she's expecting? Can you walk away from her if things aren't "right" for both of you? You have high hopes and have a feeling this woman is perfect but when you meet, you should continue to evaluate her as a person and not be blind to any red flags. She certainly will evaluate you for any red flags and that's a good thing so you both don't end up with the wrong people. I hope things work out for the best and you two are what you're both looking for.

I don't think she is Lily but agree, reading Steve's words of admiration and love, Lily is the first woman who comes to mind, she is the one who was able to win the outmost respect and admiration of most of the RWD members (correct me if I am wrong  ), how better could she do that in a personal correspondance! Now this is a very astute observation and unfortunately, many times true but there are always exceptions to the rule and hope that Steve falls in the category of exceptions.

I think it is pretty obvious who the Euro traveller will be. There is a limited number of people who would come in for the type of guy who declares his life long love and promises on an internet board before meeting. Sorry guys but.........
