Sandro,

Did you just call me a diphthong?  I have been called a dip$hit before, but this is a new one.  :D
Gator,
I think he did!  But the question remains, are you a rising or falling dipthong?
(Hell, I had to look it up and I still don't get it) :wallbash:

Not sure I understand this.  Maybe it's just the way I say it?  outer? ouzel?
I should have stated more clearly : the Limey OU's that are written as U's in the US ...  ;)
Therefore OUT cannot be subjected to the treatment postulated by our esteemed diphthong from Florida, El Lagarto 8).

If, however, you're referring to pronunciation, consider:
1. Shoulder, Mould
2. Could, Should
3. Doubt, Oust
4. Double, Couple
5. Four, Court
... and, on further thought, one could also add:
6. Portsmouth, Dartmouth

Wow, Sandro, it is so pleasant again to see you talk this special linguistical English!   ;) By the way, why do people here ask YOU first about all this and not me?  ;) Maybe they have their UTMOST respect to your knowledge and not mine?  ;)  :) ....Noooo, i was just totally kidding...hehehe... :D

Allthough maybe there is a connotation of comparison in 'utmost', still i have a feeling that there is less of it than just stating the fact that it is 'the best' or 'the highest'. Several people can have my utmost respect, but it doesn't mean that others are not respected by me.

Well, I think this sort of discussion had better be conducted elsewhere than in xStevenx's introductory thread.

I am therefore opening a new "Language !" thread in "Odds and Ends" for those as interested as I am in matters linguistical.

With apologies to xStevenx for the disruption ;).

You will get to that hurdle when needed if you are talking about partner visa applications.  ;)
Things like birth certificate and declaration of not being married need to be notarized.
To put them for the visa application, they need to be translated in to an official language of the country.
Dutch is hard to find in Russia, if it needs better find a court-authorized translator near you.
On the other hand, you might get away with a French translation, which is easier to find.

My preference would be to have the necessary documents translated in Belgium, as authorities sometimes might not be convinced regarding the status of the Russian-made translations, although without any reason.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Another Love Sick Newbie is in for a Dose of Reality?
« Reply #82 on: December 05, 2007, 12:27:15 PM »

about my secret love: we did not meet for real but soon we will, but I can say we are talking every day for hours at chat and we are on the webcam whole nights long and we where not bored for one second
Steven, history shows that in cases where men fall in love before even meeting the girl, that bad things usually happen.  So you need to give yourself a reality shot so you will not be crushed when you meet in real life.  And no, letters, chats, and webcams are not real life.  Anyway, I do wish you good luck.

Once again, it's WAY to early to start worrying about "official documents."

well sorry people, I talked about it with my love and she wants to remain unknown for the time being

I must add to my introduction that we did not yet meet in real live but the date is set and she is going to visit me in Belgium from 29 DEC 07 till 07 Jan 08

and she wants to wait till after that time and I can not blame her
she had some pretty good arguments

thank you all for your interests and welcome words and specially for you good wishes to us and our future

So now it's the 8th and I'm bumping this thread to see if she will let you reveal her BBS name.  I hope all went well during the visit, Steven.

Hello, RWD!
It’s been a long ago since I was here. And now I am writing to assure you that the confidence that xStevenx was showing you was absolutely justified and proved by splendid vacation we spent together, that unfortunately lasted like one second…
I hope I managed to satisfy the curiosity of some RWD members   ;D
Yet I would like to thank you for your inspiring words, wish of luck and even critique as I am sure you all wish only happiness to each other.
To prevent further questions I will tell a little bit about myself – the end of my bad experience (I wrote about it in August) and the beginning of wonderful, I am sure, long lasting, new life.
I will not cover details, just tell you I found out my ex-‘husband’  cheated. It was September when everything became clear. But is was along ago when he did it. I should have guessed along ago but I preferred not to think about the worst. And that’s how I haven’t protected myself from pain and shock which later transferred into hatred. I ran to lawyers to get rid of that shameful stamp in my passport ASAP. I hoped I would be able to do everything on my own, because any thought of calling him or writing him, asking, just getting in touch with him made me sick. I hired two layers, spent so much money just to discover in the end that our bureaucratic laws never protect our citizens in Russia (the marriage took place in Russia). Ex did not have courage to come here and get divorced and without him the court could give me allowance to get divorced ONLY if we had children (!!!).  I had to take the way I was so much trying to avoid – to write a lawsuit from his name against me as it’s him who is asking the court to get us divorced. I have swallowed my pride and sent the lawsuit to him asking to sign the papers. Surprisingly he signed the papers commenting (before I should note we had a common account that was opened on money that was a gift of my parents and my friends on our wedding – I gave them to him when he was coming back to US, and, now, sending him papers, I gave him bank details to transfer those money back here to at least be able to cover lawyer’s expenses, as I am used to think a responsible and honest person would not have doubts or questions about fairness of this my request) commenting ‘I will send you money only when I will get on my hands the paper saying we are divorced’... No need to comment how base this ‘blackmail’ was… He got scared that I could claim on his money and property!!! And for me anything HIS is the same nasty as HIM…

…I have a court divorce process on Monday when they have to make a decision. And I pray they would finally set me free…

After I found out the truth about my ex I just NEEDED to distract myself from thinking about it, I switched jobs, I started working in two companies and my work is that interesting as I could never dream about!.. I worked all days, nights and weekends long up to New Year…

Do you remember what I was writing about my principals of love?.. That bad experience haven’t changed anything in my mind, just made me realize there is EVERYTHING possible, can happen in life, and it indeed made me stronger.
Gator, you were saying that I would love again and that person would be so much lucky, would value and respect me… So, you were 101% right. He came in my life in the hardest time and it was him who proved me the validity of my theory. It is a person with same type of mind and heart, who gets happy because of GIVING, who does not share ‘this is mine’ and ‘this is yours’, who has the item “WE” in his family life principals, for whom family and love is #1 priority, who went through hard time and hurt himself and now value the most precious feeling. And I didn’t even have to go to Belgium to realize that – what I could already understand from his letters and web-cam conversation. But I went… believing to start New 2008 Year and then a new life with him. He is 15 years older me and his wisdom brings harmony in our life. I am just RESTING by his side – I already forgot how it’s like…, even now, 3000 km away from each other, I know we belong to each other and I don’t have to worry about us…
I know what to expect from him, that is he will never say or do any action that would hurt me,  I even don’t have to say anything – he feels any my thought or wish and does everything for me. And at the same time he has amazing sense of humor (I suspect it’s all Belgium’s chocolate…  ;D) – there was no one day when I didn’t laugh till tears down my face.
But the most important thing is… he shared with me the most precious thing in his life – his wonderful child. I think it should be a REALLY wonderful great man, husband and papa that managed to bring up on his own such an amazing, loving, kind, smart child who has even called me mama, mamochka from the 1st second we saw each other and ever since and who really became one of the best parts of my life.
And I want to thank you, my dear wonderful, amazing man Steven and mijn zoontje Alexje, for splendid seconds you shared with me, for loving and waiting for me, for so much laugh and happiness you brought in my life and for letting me be your loving woman and mama! I love you very much. :couple: :blowkiss: :luv:

Thanks, everybody, for your attention and even curiosity-care about our destiny  :D I am sorry that I made you wait but indeed I work too much now and unfortunately don’t have enough time to visit this site. I wish you all happiness and to those who are still looking I wish to find their love.
All the best, Alla.

It's good to hear all is well with you xstevenx and ladyx. I feel like buying some Belgum chocolate and adding an "X" to my name too!

Although it was risky that you two felt strongly commited to each other before a first meeting, the key is that you both seem very "into" each other and share the same thoughts, goals and dreams. It takes two to make it work.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Alla,

Congratulations!  I remember your story last year as Ladyx.  You showed such emotional generosity and energy then, and it is splendid to see that you still have it after your bad experience.  I was surprised then that so few people commented on your interesting story, revealing the emotions and inner thoughts of a RW in love.

As I said before, you were too good for the young husband you found in America.   His immaturity is again a problem as you try to dissolve your marriage.

Now you have found Steven.  You have opened your warm heart again.   You and Steven have captured in words the emotions of your love.  It seems that the two of you are really good together.  Laughter is an accurate indicator of compatibility, and you had plenty of laughter.

Please keep us informed of your success together.

Hello all!
Shadow, jb, BillyB and Gator! I would like to thank you for all your comments and wish of luck, which  indeed were very  useful as I am sharing  good news – finally today the court gave me divorce! It feels like a huge burden fell down from my shoulders…
BillyB, you made us laugh with your jokes!  :D Actually when Steven registered in this site he didn’t know my login, and it is by accident that we both have Xs in our names!  :)
Gator, I noticed a long ago -  you really need to be a psychologist – so shrewd your judgments about human’s nature are…
And, my dear xStevenx and Alexje, thank you very much  for your support and love, I hope these days till your arrive will fly fast and we’ll be together again.

With wishes of happiness to all of you,
Alla.

Quote from LadyX first post about her first husband:
Quote
I have been to the US twice through student visa, and in the first summer I met my present husband…
The way he loved me, the way I loved him – I have never seen  such a love on TV, I have never read about such a love in the most sentimental classic novels, I have never felt THAT loved, THAT love…
Everybody were looking at us and envy our love! I lived with him all those 2 summers, and I was everything to him, and he… I just could not imagine my life without him, I trusted everything to him. His friends used to tell him “Where have you find her?” His parents treated me good thinking it was just an entertainment. But the entertainment was ready to turn into something more serious when he firstly came to Russia…

looks like she has little problems in finding the love of her life, she has done it again and this time the love package includes a cute little child who calls her mama. I am not sure but it looks like they have only met on web-cam and he is already one of the best things in her life.
I don't know what to say but still good luck to her.

Today it is 11 march so we are at the end of the 10th day before my departure to Russia for the first time to meet with Alla's parents and to be back with her again, me and my son hardly can't wait to be back united with her.
we have planes to visit Moscow, Kazan and her own home town, we will be spending 17 days in total over there before returning to Belgium all together, all papers to make it happen are already in our pocket. so everything is looking good for us and our future together
just wanted to let you all know that
greets Steven

PS: I have 5,1kg of the best Belgian chocolates that I will take to Russia for my lovely girl and her parents ;-)

Steven,

Good news!  Happy news!  I have always been impressed with Ladyx's style.

You said "best Belgian chocolates;" that would make them creme de le creme.  5.1 kg would be $400 in America.

Have a wonderful time.  Taking your son is an excellent idea - it helps to build your relationship as a family.
