What experience does anyone have meeting a woman from a big city like Kiev to move to a much smaller city?

I love in a city of around 500k. Its the 3rd largest city in NC but super small I guess compare to Kiev.

I know there are no 100% but do russian women from big cities normally want to move to a big city?

Blues Fairy is from Moscow and is moving to Raleigh. 

JB's wife is from Moscow and she has settled in Corpus Christi for the past five years.

My fiancee is from Moscow and considers Tampa  one of the best places in the world (she visited here for two months in 2005).  Nevertheless, she will need an annual visit to New York.  And the Big Apple is a great place (to visit).

With the exception of performing arts, high-end fashion, and mass transportation, a city of 500,000 in America can offer almost as much as Kiev.  Some women will think otherwise based on their experience in Russia/Ukraine; however, it is your job to educate them.  Few FSUW will require weekly opera, a metro, and Valentino.  If they do, introduce them to country music concerts, driving, and business casual.

My fiancee is from Barnaul RU, population 800,000 and seems to be quite happy in my little town of 15,000.

Very early days yet, but my wife comming from a Russian city of 1.2 - 1.5 million is settling quite well in a city of 100 000. Her only negative comment (and I have pressed her pretty hard on this subject) is that this city is a bit quiet on Sundays.

Your city is IMO not going to be a big problem if she is the right lady for you. That is the first thing you need to figure out and then worry about the other things later.

I don't know about Gbo per se, but there is a fairly large Russian population in the Triangle area. There is an annual picnic I think, at Jordan Lake. Check out this site: http://www.russiancarolina.net/ (it's mostly in Russian, hope you are studying!) Plus the university has plays and concerts to satisfy her need for culture, if any. And then too you're only an hour from Чапелхилловка!

IMHO it's not so much about the size of the city but being able to get around.

It's all about transportation.. -mainly to go shopping.

(talking about a decent size city.. not a 300 soul town.)

If she can go shopping on her own she will be happy.

I was happy to see this topic.  To be honest, I was a bit worried about the same thing.  Kansas City has many great things, but our live theatre and opera may not be up to the quality of many larger cities.  Hopefully, the Nelson-Atkins gallery and the First Fridays events in the expanding-quite-rapidly art district will make up for some of that if I do end up with a big city woman.  Now that I think of it, St. Louis is only a 3 hour train ride or 4 hour drive away...   As far as shopping, there is a good mall about 2 miles from my house, and of course our beautiful Plaza district, but learning to drive will be a must around here.  Luckily, traffic is not an issue the way it would be in say, New York, or even Dallas for that matter...   Guess I answered my own question!

What about sports?  Are RW's more "sports fansy" than AW's?  We do have a great football(soccer) team here .  Just kidding, I love the Chiefs too.  We are supposed to be getting an NHL expansion in our new awesome Sprint Center.  I don't really watch much sports on tv, (Chiefs and Packers) but I like to go to some games once in a while, so I am very curious to know...
