For the record,,, engineers refer to these things as "Rube Goldberg" machines.  Why, I do not know.  This one didn't have a climax,,, it should have had a funnier ending to make it a good one,,, like, make it into an alarm clock to wake up the inventor.  One of the best examples I've seen lately was in a movie called "Back To The Future", and it was used to put out a can of dog food in the owners absence.  In other words, the machine had a purpose, this one didn't.
