First Trip to Ukraine, Kiev! with pics!

Hello everyone,

First off i am a horrible writer and my grammar is even worst so forgive me if this report doesnt read well.


overview: this is my first trip to kiev, ukraine, russia... hell its only my second trip outside the country . I have 4 ladies i have talked to over the phone and hopefully i will have a nice date with them.
 
I am traveling on one of jack's tours so i will have two parties to go to. One will be on dec 27th and the second will be dec 31. I will be in kiev dec 26 to jan 6.

purpose: i think this will be a great read for those that have never done this before because you will see it from a guy that has also never been but he isnt scared to test the waters.

day 1, dec 26:

My flight florida to atlanta, then to paris and last to kiev. After landing in paris i walked over to my next gate and the first thing i saw was a big guy wearing a Harley-Davidson leather vest talking to another guy with a clemons sweatshirt. Now for those of you who dont know these names, harley is an true american motocycle maker and clemson is a big school in north carolina. oh by the way i am from north carolina. so i walked up listen for a moment and heard english. i said hello and the first thing they said is hey are you here for a wife to? hahaha

true americans i guess. anyway harley (i dont remember his name but i will reference him as that) was just married in ukraine twice about 1 1/2 months ago. he was 50+ and she was 26. he showed me her wedding pictures and wow was she beautiful. she was tall, slim and could easily be a model. Anyway he was going to spend new year with her and said their next trip should be back home. mr clemons said he going to visit his girlfriend but they are engaged.

the clemons guy curt. i believe his name is curt talked a while before and after we landed. he gave me some tip that will share with you during my story.

i landed in kiev without my luggage! yes i have no cloths, shampoo, toothbrush and well everything else but my laptop, camera and money. So i had the lucky experience to stand in line to fill out a form for my luggage. I am very scared that it will not arrived before the party at 7pm on dec 27th. 

now for you new guys be sure to get the form that is past out from the flight attendants to declare yourself. Its faster to fill this out on the plane then while running to get in line to get into ukraine. be sure you know 100% or at least fake where you will be staying because they will ask if you dont fill it out correctly. So anyway i walked up to the declare place, gave him my password and papers, a few stamps and off i went.

After this i had to go to air france so i can fill out the papers for my luggage. yea this was fun. they located it, and it didnt make the flight to kiev from france. they said it should be on tomorrow flight. the word should scared me of course.

air france helped me fill out my customs papers. be sure to declare all your money but no more then 10k. they didnt blink an eye and i was on my marry way.

after leaving customs i walked pass some opening doors and omg chaos! 1000000 taxi drivers trying to get fairs. boy was this crazy. jack of course told me that Val, my driver will be there and will not leave. well he didnt leave but it was tough finding him. So i wondered around looking for a sign with my name. Now in defense to val i was very late because of my luggage so he wasnt standing when i walked out with the sign. so anyway a taxi driver knew i was lost since i was wondering around looking like lost tourist. yea me! so anyway he asked if i needed a driver and i said now. i wondered around more and he just followed me like a vulture. Of course i am panicing since i have no idea how i can find val and i got some crazy taxi driver following me. anyway luck maybe not luck but more like greed came over the taxi driver and he offer his phone if i needed to call someone. i called katya who was assigned me to assist. she then call val and they located me by me telling them where i was.

Now val was meeting myself and a guy name michael. he is i think 40+ and a nice guy. he is from dallas texas and is 6 foot 3 inches. tall man. anyway he was also lucky that his fight was eariler then mine and was waiting for like 3+ hours.

so off we went to kiev. the drive was maybe 30 or 40 mins. my flat was actually pretty nice. i mean it all depends on your standard. it isnt nice if i was back in my city but it was nice for kiev. I was comparing this because we saw michael flat first. his wasnt that great. plus mine was in a great location. maybe 2 blocks from independance square.

Now i had two dates today and i had no way of cleaning myself up. once i had little time and two i had no cloths. i was wearing a bright yellow t shirt and jeans. my 14 hour flight and i havent shaved yet. as you guys can see i am asian and most asian men dont grow facial hair nicely. we get like sprouts of hair in random areas of the face. haahh

oh well if the girl is going to like me it will be base on personality. so anyway my first meeting.

she look no where near her picture and she had no idea who i was. meaning the agency (ill figure this out later and tell you guys) never seen my profile or picture. i asked this during the date because i was pretty keen she was surprise when she saw me. So after we talked for a few i asked. so anyway the date didnt wasnt very good. i mean she was ok looking and her personality was not so good, and last she most likely didnt want to meet me anyway if she saw me or read my profile. i dont know this 100% but im pretty good at reading people so was my gut told me. Anyway we just had juice and i ended it after that. i called jack, told him. he wasnt very happy. i think im getting my money back on this one. right now katya has it so next time i see her im should get my 30 dollars back.

on second date. now this girl was actually better looking then the photos. yes i said better. she look like Marilyn Monroe. and of course i had to be lucky again and she has never seen my photo! she did say she new my profle. now this agency was called bridge of love. i did pay the agency their money because i meet her at the agency. so anyway the date went ok. i had to keep pressing the conversation and she kept looking at random directions. meaning we would be talking and she look away or to the side like she was looking for something, not interested or nervous. my guess she wasnt interested in myself. maybe 1/2 into the conversation we talked about our values. her biggest one she said was being honest. so i figure this was the best time and asked her if she was interested in me since she never seen my photo. she said yes but i didnt believe her . maybe i was wrong but i dont think so. anyway we had a light dinner and the dated end with me walking her back to the agency.

on a side note she traveled 2 hours by train/cab/bus to see me. now from what gathered by my experience her is this isnt that big of a deal. for americans 2 hours is a long trip for a blind date.

After the date i came back home and called marina. she was one of the girls i talked on the phone before i came. she was surprise i was here. my guess is maybe guys says they are coming but dont? i dont know. anyway she actually works as an interputer and she has a client she has to see in kiev on nov 28th. So we arrange to see each other then or maybe the 29th.

day 2:

i cant write much. michael is meeting me shortly but boy do i have a fun story to tell. most is bad but it will be entertaining. long story short i had a meeting a 11am and it was michaels meeting and not mine!! haha

oh one last thing. i called another girl (2 or 4) that i talked before i came and she was also surpise and wanted to meet with me today. i cant do this since we have our party tonight. so we should meet tomorrow i think.

If you need any help in Kiev let me know, I will be there on the 30th and coming back either on the 7th or 15th.  I have been there about 12 times this year alone - I met fiance first time I went to Ukraine. 

Remember this is Kiev and these girls have a lot of options.  Just be yourself.

A little advice is never go through Paris airport or fly air France or expect to lose your luggage (In past 5 years I have over a million flight miles and only had issues with my luggage on Air France and in the London and Paris airports).  Best is Amsterdam from USA or direct from New York.  Moscow also is good airport.

I did Jack's tour a year and a half ago and Jack will do a great job of taking care of you.   It is usual to have to weed through a few gals with no chemistry to find the ones you really hit it off with.  Unfortunately that can happen even if you have high expectations and sometimes the WOVO trips can turn into a big disaster.   You are doing a great job with your TR and I am looking forward to hearing more.

Good morning!

Well its morning here...

ok ill get back to day 2:

in the morning about 10am katya (my helper i guess. she is one of jacks employees that helps him) she gives me a call and says hey john i am sorry but you have an meeting at 11am. So i rush to get dressed and off i went. i arrived and waited and i saw a woman who was wondering around looking like she was looking for someone or lost. now this girl wasnt my type (looks wise) a little older maybe 33ish? so i figure maybe another man was meeting her here. after she looked around for about 3 or 4 mins she walked up to me and said michael? now from what i remember these woman are suppose to have seen the guys photo and i dont look anywhere near like michael. he is 6' 3", white, and has brown hair. as you can see in my photo i a little different .

so anyway i tried to put two and two together and figured maybe she is waiting for my friend michael i meet before. i asked her name and called up michael. he was umm sleeping... anyway after yelling at him to wake up we figured out this was his date. he printed out all of his girls profiles so it was easy to spot her. so anyway she asked me to ask her could he meet her in 1 hour, she said 1 hour!, you model? hahahah

so anyway her english was good and boy was she a firecracker. so maria ( i think that is how your spell her name) and i went to a coffee shop to wait for michael. michael ended up saying he will be there in 30 mins.) so maria and i talked and i easily noticed you started to like me. now i am by no means was trying to flirt or anything. i was just trying to have a conversation until michael shows up. i must say i did enjoy her company. i had to put her in her place a few days on some of her comments. i thought i was rude when i said a few things but i think she just liked it even more that she couldnt run over me.

after 30 or so mins michael gives me a call and said he cant find the coffee shop. so she asked me to ask maria can she meet her at the Mc'ds. she replyed i am no dog i dont come to you. hahahah. so anyway michael of course ends up walking to us. when he arrives i get up to leave and she says wait james (for those of you who dont know my name is john) you must stay. i knew that was bad news. so she begs michael to allow me to stay. so i stay for maybe 10 or 15 more mins. i didnt say much during this time to allow michael (who is a great guy) start talking. after i found my pause i excuse myself and off i went.

i ended up at an internet cafe where i wrote my first post. michael ended up not liking her to much because he told me somehow marina friend showed up at the restaurant they went to after the coffee shop and he ended up paying for both of them.

anyway he and i meet up after his date and hanged out until the party at 7pm. my luggage of course didnt show up so i went with  one of michael shirts . thanks man! im 5' 10" .... but the shrit still looked good on me

day 2 party dec 28.

ok we all went to some hotel for the party. each of had our own interpreter. now if you guys havent noticed i have unique luck. i use the word unique because normally things that dont happen to others happen to me all at once. some good, some bad so i dont complain. you will understand by the end of this trip i am sure

so i was one of 5 guys that didnt have an interpreter assigned to him. What i kinda (now this might be wrong because i didnt ask) figured out is jack had these agency help him find interpreters. well these agency (not jack's fault) didnt do the best of job finding enough. i only said that because mine agreed to help but it was like 2 hours before the party and she had plans to do something that evening.

now anyone want to guess who i picked? yes i the one that could only stay for 1 hour. hahaha. so anyway she had no idea what to do but her english was very good. she was also very cute. she had that innocent look but if you look into her eyes you can see cunning and wisdom. it was i know a odd combination. now at this time i had no idea she had to go.

ok the party: we were in a small room for the amount of people we had with a singer. now as you know if you put a lot of people in a room where it shouldnt hold this amount of people it will be loud, and then you put a singer on top of that it gets louder. now the girl didnt sing during our meeting but they did play music. it was hard to hear everyone and you ended up only talking to the 3 or 4 women closest sitting next to you. there were about 6 or so women per table and a total of 11 or 12 tables. there was also an A and B table that was set aside for the older guys.

anyway the experience was fun. we spent about 7 or so mins at each table. many of girls came with friends. you can easily spot them because they are normally similar age and  they point and talk to each other. my guess about some of the men there.

now i have no idea if was the youngest but it looked like i was. so some of the tables the women there said you to young and pointed to the younger girls at the table. haha. to be honest the older ones were more interesting. they could carry a conversation while the younger ones (most) didnt say much at all.

so the magic question. did i find anyone? well i can easily spot a women that likes me. now does she like me for good or bad reasons that is the tougher question. i didnt have a problem finding a girl that liked me but i did have a problem with me liking them. im a pretty picky guy it seems. i dont think so but my friends tell me this.  so i ended up only interested in one girl at the tables. she was most likely the girl that every guy at the party at least liked (in looks). she was a tall red head with all the curves.

while i was at the table with zoy (thats the redhead) she was aggressive at first. meaning she took control of the conversation to talk to me. she even was so bold saying she saw my picture (some agency) and looked for me when i arrived. this sounded good but just wait. remember my unique luck. she is 25 and i think 5'9". hard to tell with those boots all these women wear . so before i left the table i told her we will talk after.

now after the musical chairs of tables . i call it this because most of the people had no idea where to go when they said ok change tables. it was deadly simple, if you were at table 1 you go to 2. easy concept but many didnt understand. you cant blame jack, he clearly said this but his people didnt understand it seems. i think only me and my interpreter understood haha

anyway about halfway into the chair shuffle my interpreter said she had to go. (now i skipped a few parts with some conversation between my interpreter that i will write about later. but in summary i was flirting with her). so anyway i was surprise she had to go but before she did she said you want my number? so i took it and off she went. she was very professional until then. meaning she did her job until she left without you know. i did get another person but he well, he is a great guy but i wish i had someone else. the guy that helped me after this was val. great guy but i mean you know... anyway it didnt really matter because there was only two people i wanted to talk anyway.

so anyway i finally found zoy after. she was of course taken by another guy so i waited for my chance. we talked for a bit and she was charming but there was something about her that tossed some alarm bells. meaning caution you might be being played. now in the usa, a great looking girl knows she is great looking. it is unfortunate that many of them (at least the ones i run into) use this in a bad way. So i kept thinking this girl was doing the same. after we talked for about 20 or so mins her friend came over and she said she had to go upstairs and she will talk to me later.

during this time i get a call and yea! my luggage is here! they came to the hotel where the party was and everything was there. now, during this time i notice other guys talking to zoy and long story short we never talked again. i saw her leave (by herself, or with friends, no other guys) so i am wondering should i even call her? i am in ukraine and i have no time for games. i have a limited amount of time and if a girl cant decide if she wants to talk to me or not i should move on right?

So we are going back in time a little bit. right before i talked to zoy i gave anna (the interpreter assigned to me) a call. i talked to her and i found out she had to go because she had a meeting . i also find out she wasnt suppose to work, and the amount of time she did she wasnt being paid. so i clearly understood why. i did tell her over the phone i was happy she did work a little because we would have never meet if she didnt. the rest of the conversation went well, she asked if i meet anyone and i said only the zoy girl (no reason to lie) but i rather see her which was also true. So she said give her a call at 11am and we will set up lunch or something.

right after the party ended michael tried to get me to go with them to a dance club and stuff but i didnt go. i dont know why. i felt weird doing that knowing i had a date with anna the next day. now this was a real date at least i think so and not a meeting since we have already talked, seen each other already. see what i mean? i know it was something stupid and no other guy would have done this but i just went back to my flat and went to bed.

day 3 dec 28

i talked to anna in the morning and she will take a taxi to meet me at 2;30 for lunch. now doesnt this seem like late for lunch? im having a little odd feelings about the time. maybe she has plans until then? im a really bad cautious guys so maybe this nothing. now i am suppose to call julia (i dont remember if said anything about her yet) sometime today so we can meet. julia is a woman i meet on EM and we have already talked on the phone. she wanted to meet me on dec 27 but i couldnt because of the party. right now i am not sure if i should call her to make plans now or wait until how my lunch gos. im a type of guy if i like one girl i am happy with that. i dont need to keep shopping you know?

so right now it is 12:35pm and im finishing this post. i know i gotta do pics and i will soon .

LOL, what a clusterphuck you've been put through John!

Dude, I stand by my original assertion when you and I were talking before you left: Kiev is more often than not bad news and Jack knows it! Ok, but it does sound like you're having a lot of fun so that's good. Don't be afraid to be a jerk back to some of these girls if they're giving you some attitude.  Just have of a bit of a smile on your face when you're throwing your neg's around so they don't think you're not a complete ass. They'll respect you for not being a doormat. 

Don't read too much into this girl Anna wanting to meet you at 2:30pm John. You know as well as anyone else that you're probably not the only guy she's meeting with. Enjoy the time you get with her and worry about the other stuff later.

ok the first picture if val my crazy driver.

he is a good guy. you must be honest with him and he should treat you right. I mean if you ask him to do something it will cost you but if you are honest and speak your mind it will be a fair price. i would have him pick you up if you ever come to kiev.

the second one is michael date that i talked about. she as you can see is well. anyway. picture should tell most of it.

the third is my interpreter that jack assigned to me. she is nice, if you have her you must even if it bothers her keep on her on your plans and meetings. i am not saying she is forgetful or anything mean but this is your trip so you must stay on them because they are also busy helping the others guys assigning to them; and because of this you might get missed. i think also jack is in the background. he is like most people here say a good guy; just remember he is very very busy so just like anything when you are very busy he may miss a few things or something might not go perfect. this is to be expected so my biggest advice is to check, double check, triple check. this is your trip, and no offense to anyone by saying this, you make your trip happen. jack and his works helps you but if you want something you have to do it and make sure it gets done.

dec 28th

Well my date with Anna. I had a wonderful time. I love it. She was fun, a little shy at first but she easily warmed up after she got comfortable. She is 29, maybe 5 8 or 5 9 and she wouldnt let me take a picture of her.

i did a little research on her before i meet her. i found out that she is on a site like EM and i look up her profile. she is listed there as 23. Now i cant confirm is this is her but it look just like her with the same name. So anyway i asked her age and she said 29. this is a good sign since if the 23 is true she is starting out relationship without a lie.

our date was cute. we had lunch at 3:30pm at o'brian or something. it is an irish pub. we sat at a table under the stairs so it was the only table within 12 or 15 meters of anything. it was like a snuggle hole under the stairs. it was great because no one could really see us.


that evening she had to go. i can tell she wanted to stay but she said she had to meet a possible buyer for her paintings. she paints and she works at an art gallery.

so what evening i called up julia. i think i talked about her before and luckly she was getting off work so we had drinks. she is 22 and like 5 11. she of course wore those boots so she was maybe 6 1?

she was very innocent. she wasnt really my type. i need a woman with some experience. someone who has lived some so she knows what she wants. i am not saying wants as in a type of man but wants as in life. she had plans, dreams and she want to do this with her man and not a man being the dream itself. that makes sense?

anyway i dont think she is for me but maybe for brandon. i also meet him on this trip. he is one of jack's guys and maybe ill set him up with her. he is 37 i think but looks like 34ish. he is i think a handsom guy and should have no problems finding a girl. he is also shy so i may need to help him along.

dec 29

i called up anna and she is going to sms me when she takes her taxi to see me. i think she said she is 45 mins away. i dont know. im getting to know the price of cabs pretty fast.. meaning fair price. here are somethings you need to learn to save some money:

1: know how much it cost to move around. fair price. cabs etc. if the first cab doesnt say ok to your price sent it away. there are a lot so you will have no trouble finding one.

2: location of your flat. i dont express this enough. you need to have a good location. of course how do you know what a good location is. well you need to have a place to buy food for your flat, toilet paper (yes i said this cuz you need it), meet place for drinks, pool (almost every girl likes this) or bowling, disco(dance club), and a few different place to eat in walking distance! if you can center your flat near all of this you will save a ton of money. i was lucky and my flat is right beside jack's. and of course you know jack picked a good spot so i have just about everything i need in walking distance.

3. get a menu if possible from the places you want to take a girl to eat. get a feel for how much it cost to eat so you can budget your money.

4. explore. if you dont want to do it alone then do it with a friend or something. walk around learn where stuff is. i am not sure why but most of the women i meet assumed i knew where stuff was. they said ok meet me X place and i said ok. all the women i meet, and i know you cant make a general statement on my experience but they want a smart guy that knows things, and part of it is where stuff is, where to go, and what to do.

so anyway im right now at the internet cafe. (the guy that works here like 24/7 and i became friends because he sees me her all the time). nice guy. you will i think meet a lot of nice people here.

i was hassled my police walking here. just make sure you have your passport, declaration papers and etc and you will be ok. my heart did skip a beat when i saw them walking up to me. there is no way an asian guy can blend into kiev. hahah

so my guess is ill see anna around the same time. like 2;30pm to like 4pm. you never know with these women . she did say she was sorry she was late and hoped i didnt think she didnt respect me. so all is forgiven. she has these bright green/blue eyes that you cant say no to anyway.

ok my trip is going to be crazy soon. hopefully in a good way but we will see. i haven't told you guys yet but a woman 22, 5 6, is on the train now i think from the southern city of ukraine to see me. she will stay until jan 3rd. i say crazy but now i must try to spend time with her and well anna. and possible marina. i havent heard from her yet. let me know if i didnt say anything about her. i want to be respectful and make sure they know what i am doing. i want to hide anyway but i also dont want to lose my chance in missing the right one.

i need to write a little about him. this is his first trip and i can see he is like a kid in a candy store. he was so taken back on all the women at the party for him. i think he took down like 15 numbers or something. he of course wasnt smart and didnt call any of them the next day. ok guys rule 1. if you get a number call her soon. this isnt like the usa when you may wait a few days. call the next day. make sure she remembers you. dont waste time. it is his i think 2nd day here and i know 100% he is coming back. maybe not here but back to ukraine . he enjoys the attention and he is easily a good catch for a woman. im surprise he doesnt have one back at home.

zoy: i must confess i did call her up yesterday. she was nice and showed interests in me. i am still not sure i want to see her. i still have the feeling she is just out for fun and games. she did say a few times she wants to see me. we will see. i really wish i took a picture of her. my camera (dumb me) ran out of batteries so i couldnt take a pic of anything! arg.  there will be few guys that woulnt want a pic of zoy.

dec 29 (evening time)

I am not 100% sure where i left off and im to lazy to back

fast updates since i missed a few days.

on dec 29th i didnt have plans and michael called me up and said hey my girl vika (short for victoria i think) wants a double date and both were at the social on dec 27th. my dated would be a girl named tanya. after he explained where they both sat i remember who they were. Tanya is very very skinny with a full figure. i didnt think she liked me because everytime i asked her a question she answer short and she didnt look at me much; but hey i had no plans so why not. anyway we actually hit it right off during the date. she was playful, flirty, forward, and just a little bit of naughty. hehe

i come to find out she actually was mad at me because she said at he social she wanted to talk to me and i said ok. to be honest i didnt hear her and i do remember saying ok a lot and pretending i heard people when i didnt. as i said it was hard to hear with so many people and music in the background.

i said i was sorry and i dont think she believed me yet. she brought up both the interpreter and zoy up. wow these women know everyone. she said did i go out with them, did i like them and etc. i tell you what, women in kiev or at least the women i know arent stupid. be honest guys. dont try and create some weird lie because you think you will hurt your chance.

i told her the truth, i went out with anna (the interpreter and i didnt with zoy because i kept feeling she was a player). the date went very nice and she agreed to see me the next day. i am leaving out a lot on these date. a lot of it is a little X rated on our conversation. she was a good girl and nothing happened, not even a kiss but boy our conversation was X rated. haha

dec 30

the next day i get a text from zoy and she wanted to meet. i figure well why not. you are here to meet right? why not meet, the most it cost you is a taxi and drinks. she said she wanted to meet after 4pm. now, to us americans that means like within an hour or so of 4pm; so i made plans with tanya at 8:30pm. anyway 4:30pm came and no text from zoy so i called. she said after 8pm and i said i couldnt so maybe tomorrow.

i also had an early text from marina that she would like to meet for breakfast. this worked out great. we meet but she didnt look like her photo but she was a nice girl. i didnt have any connection. oh well its good to know right.


michael and i double dated again with vika and tanya that evening. man these women can pick some expensive places... at least michael and i thought so. so we had dinner and i had a great time. i told tanya i had a meeting at around 5pm also. after i found out zoy wanted to meet later i called tanya up to see if i could see her early. she said sure, but we ended up meeting still at 8pm. i guess 30 mins is early haha.

at the end of the night i asked tanya to go out with her tomorrow for new year eve. she said she had plans with family and friends so i figure oh well no biggie. right before she went home she call her tomorrow and maybe we can work something out. good sign? no idea with ukraine women.

dec 31!

a time for celebration. well there isnt to much for me to celebrate. i will explain:

i had a date with zoy. before the meeting i had a small lunch with michael and brandon. michael tells me she meet a great looking women named zoy in the morning. well guess what? yes it was the same zoy. this isnt a big deal of course but after talking we found some holes in her story. meaning what she told michael (background a little) was different then what she told me. not much but a little off. i told michael i will call him after the meeting on how things went. zoy said she might see him this evening so of course he wanted to know who she liked.

after the meeting i called up michael and told her she was going home to her moms and from everything i was hearing she isnt going to meet michael. anyway he said let me call you back and he was going to call zoy.

now i thought it was pretty high for 60 for taxi so i called jack up. i told him what happened and he said well i know where she lives and it should cost like 225 instead of 300. then he said John i need to tell you something about zoy and dont tell anyone yet until i confront her. (hopefully they dont read these forums ) zoy has been dating one of my guys named (X) i wont say his name because i dont know him and i rather not use his name out of respect. Anyway X has been going out with her everyday i think and she asked him for 5,000 dollars to help with medical for her mother. well here we are guys! i tell you what i would have never guess she would be this type of person. i am a great reader of people and yes i been saying from this post i think something is fishy but i would have never thought scammer. i would have thought maybe player, like not serious and just like to date a lot and maybe get a gift, free meal or somethinig. not something this big.

after this i called up tanya and she told me she will spend new year with her family and friends so well my hopes there are gone.   ahh well

a fast update on anna. we have been smsing and she told me she had to look on dec 30th and then on dec 31 she will traveled to her family to spend new year with them. she will come back on jan 2nd. thats ok maybe there is hope with her. right now i am having little hope but hey little is better then nothing.

for all you guys out there. dont think you will meet the right one the first time or even the second. dont think that it will be easier her then where you are. yes i think you will get a 1st date with a woman you would never get in the usa but hey a 1st date means nothing. i would rather not even have a first date if the woman has no interests in me. see what i mean? it is just a waste of time.

Ya know... I can imagine a trip like this one being a real "trip"....  but the chances of finding a connecting with a girl is going to be really tough - especially when jumping from one date to the next.  Unless a guy dates like that at home he just won't be able to keep his head straight (remain unemotional in every way).

I was dating lots at home for several years....  and dating several girls concurrently, but I knew I was never going to connect with one girl while I was lining up the next... and the next... and the next...

I chose to write to many...  filtered down to a few... intended meeting three... ended up meeting two... but wish I'd just met one.

Yes, I wrote to my now wife lots before meeting but it wasn't "lovey dovey" at all... both of us were unemotional (skeptical) but ernestly investigating the other as a potential mate.  When we met we hit it off straight away and we had plenty of knowledge of each other from the writing and calls...

If I had met a girl whose name I didn't pronounce correctly I wouldn't have thought that the date "went well" from the girl's point of view.

Jan 1st

Each day I wake up about 9am, get ready and go for a walk. I have a little routine where I get some money, buy a little grocery, and/or explore. Each day there are always people running around but today I felt like I was the last man in Kiev. It was so quiet, no cars, and no noise. From what I hear people, including families and children stay up pass midnight to celebrate to the New Year, unlike in the USA it’s more just a party night. This would explain the ghost town in the morning of Jan 1st.

There is a woman named Elena that was dating Michael, and then Brandon. I tried to avoid dating the same women as them if they have an interest in this woman. It just didn’t feel right trying to win the affection of a woman when a friend is also dating them for the same reason. Anyway neither Michael or Brandon like Elena so I asked her to have lunch with me on the 1st. She agreed and we would meet at O’Brian’s at 2pm.

In the morning I text Tanya again and ask if she would see me tonight. I’ve been Tanya as you know three times already. The first may not count because it was the social. I then get a lovely response that she is going skiing and will not be back until Jan 7th. I was very disappointed and hurt actually. She was one of the women that were suspicious of American men and their intentions. You know coming here just for a good time and nothing more, and then she does this to me. What bothers me the most is she knew she was going on this trip and that I was expecting to keep seeing her for my entire trip; so she leads me on for a few dates pissed me off. Why see me if you have a trip soon. Why waste your time and mine? Was it just for a few free dinners? I was always very honest with her so I guess, it doesn’t matter where you go, there are always women that will mislead you in all parts of the world.

About lunch time I get a text from Anna and that she wants to meet with me tomorrow at 2pm. So maybe things are looking up? I’ve always like her, she has a unique intuition to pick up on things. Someone that is always thinking, questioning and I love this in a woman.

Elena was only 15 mins late and she actually text me telling me this before hand. It was refreshing. She also told me could she take a taxi and the cost of the taxi before she came. I also enjoy this. I will talk about the taxi scam soon.

We ate at O’Brian’s and I enjoyed her company. She has an averaging looking face with a great looking body, and she is 32. She was very concern about how much we spend and by this time I enjoy meeting a woman that doesn’t think every American has billions of dollars. I will explain this later also.

After lunch I wanted to continue to see her. Unfortunately I didn’t realize the only reason why I wanted to continue to see her is because she was great to hang out with and not because I wanted to see her for marriage or etc. I could easily see her as someone to go out with as friends, hang out and etc. She is a great person. Maybe things will change I don’t know.
We decide to go play pool. Boy she was good at it. She hit like a man, strong and confident. The place she suggested was 15 mins or so outside kiev. It was called Strike. It had a bowling ally, places to eat, and pool of course. I like the place so much I invited Brandon and Michael to come. Brandon needed a date so Elena called her friend and Michael brought Zoy. Yes he is still dating Zoy… Michael I don’t remember if I said is 45, has a 14 I think year old daughter and he has no chance of even hanging out with a women like this back at home so I guess I understand why he continues to see her. I also found out she was Miss Kiev. I guess this is the same as Miss North Carolina or something.

We all played pool and had dinner. I was still getting along with Elena. She warmed up to me, having her hand around my arm and etc. Out of 7 games I only won 1. haha. I also tried playing Russian pool and it is super hard. The table is huge and the pockets to sink the ball was super small. The ball would just barely fit inside. I always try and place a wager with a woman when playing pool. It allows you to see where you are with her. My bet of course was a kiss and hers was to see me again. I told her about my date the next day and she ok then the next.

Jan 2nd right after midnight

I had Zoy assist me getting a cab after Elena left because I wanted her to take the first cab home. I get in, and this crazy taxi driver was going 2x faster then any car. Anyone want to guess what happens next? Remember my luck!  Ok, he makes a left turn and BAM another car hits the side of the taxi where I am sitting. Now these taxis have NO seat belts unless you sit up front. I of course was the lucky guy with no seat belt in the back. The taxi spun a few times and slammed into wall at independence square. I wa stunned, my chest hurt, I couldn’t breath and I didn’t know where I was for a moment. I stumbled out of the car in a daze. I was scared because I didn’t know how the police would react, so I walked… well more like crawled away from the accident back to my flat.  I went to my bed and omg did it hurt trying to lay down. Once I was in bed I felt better, however I needed to use the restroom. I couldn’t get back up. It hurt to much to sit or roll over once I was in bed. So I prayed and fell asleep.

The next morning I was able to get up. It was still very sore and I still couldn’t breath well. If I cough, laughed, or anything that involves inhaling or exhaling I couldn’t do. I couldn’t even blow my noise in the morning because it hurt so much. I went to the mirror and took off my shirt and expecting a lot of redness or something. I didn’t see anything. Other then the pain I saw no scaring, or anything. This is my unique luck I am talking about.

By 2pm for my meeting with Anna I felt better. I still couldn’t move my right side very much but it was getting better. She of course showed up at 3:45pm at my flat instead of 2pm. I still don’t understand why most Kiev women are late. I say most because the other guys said the same thing. Anna showed up with some cake you she made and a candle shaped as a Christmas tree. We talked for a while and I really enjoy being with her until she said we will have to know each other for at least 6 months before I would ever kiss you. She also said I couldn’t spend more then 2 or 3 hours max with you each meeting. After thinking about our last few meeting it was true, we didn’t spend that much time with each other, but I figure she was trying to make time in her busy schedule for me. We talked some more and she said I know you don’t like paying for my taxi. Now this was true, and this girl as I said before was very good at reading people. Great intuition which was one of the main reasons why I like her. I admitted I didn’t because she asked for 250 for her taxi. 125 each way. The exchange rate is 5 to 1 so this was 50 dollars. At this time I remember Val saying to me that he would pick up any girl for a much lower price then taxis. So I suggested this to her but she decline. She said I don’t like anyone know where I live because you cant be to careful. I then said well maybe I could come to you and she also decline stating she didn’t know me that well. The more and more we talked the more I became very suspicious. Of what I don’t know but something just didn’t add up. She was in my flat with just me and she is scared for me to know where she lives? The date ended and she asked for 500 for taxi. This is 100 dollars guys. She said it was more expensive because it was a holiday and it was tough for her to find someone to get her. Am I sucker? I gave her the 500 and she didn’t want me to wait with her to get a taxi. Now this made really no sense. She told me it was cold and I should stay inside. Now it was very cold but as you can see things aren’t looking good. Anyway I was still blinded by her charm and ask to see her tomorrow and she said maybe ill sms you.

One thing I’ve gain by being her is watching my money. Yes I made many mistakes up until now but I’ve gain a lot of wisdom here. I would never pay 500 again but it takes doing it once to not do it again for me.

Right now I really didn’t have any women I really wanted to see. I don’t remember if I talked about Alena. Now this was the last girl that I talked to over the phone though EM. She asked me to call her the day I arrived and we would setup a date. I trived several times that day and the next but I kept getting nothing like her phone was not in service or turned off. I figure well I’ll try one more time since I had nothing else to lose. She picked up and I have a date for tomorrow at 2pm. Or in Kiev woman time 3pm+.

So that evening I had no plans and decide to call up Michael and Brandon. Brandon said he was on double date with Michael with the girl I help set him up with at Jack’s party. I didn’t talk about Jack’s new year eve party yet but I will later. I didn’t meat anyone to give you the summary. Brandon said yes come on out. I don’t really like this girl now but why don’t you take over. I said sure why not.

I meet up with them at an underground mall. These places are really neat, and there are a bunch all around the center of kiev. We don’t have them in NC. So anyway Brandon found me and we went looking for Michael and the two girls. Now both girls aren’t back looking, Michael date was much better looking at least to me. We found them at tiny both where they sold bikinis. The girls were trying on bikinis and showing them (not me) what they thought. I thought this weird to do for a first date and said hey Michael, I think they are going to make you pay for these bikinis. Michael didn’t seem to care because he was getting a peep show. He also said they invited him and Brandon to go swimming with them tomorrow at their gym. I shrug and just kept to myself. Brandon now was more interested after the peep show. Hahah. So anyway after they were finished the shopkeeper was adding everything up and yes you guess it they asked Brandon and Michael to pay for their suits. Brandon’s was 2300 and Michael was 1100. Well there you have it.

Brandon mouth dropped and was stunned. I had to do everything to stop myself from laughing. After a short pause that felt like 10 minuets but was really only five seconds Brandon said I cant buy that and shook his head. He couldn’t even look her in the eye. Then he started to move his hands as a sign of no and repeated what he said. He back away from the counter and walked over to me. Michael was still there saying I cant pay that much (that being the wrong word to use) so he ended up giving her 250. Brandon and I just walked off leaving Michael there alone.

Can you really believe a girl expects a guy to give them 460 dollars after meeting with them for maybe 2 hours? I personally don’t get it.

Wow! Quite a story John! Yeah, taxi's are more expensive on holidays. When I took a taxi from Vinnitsa to Kiev on VE day I ended up paying an extra 100 grivnas. With that said however, I'm not sure how much more expensive a cab should be if your traveling within Kiev on a holiday. No way should your friends be paying for a girls swimsuit though. He should at least have the courage to look her in the eye and stern about it when he said no. I'm sure she'd respect him more for it. In my experience a lot of Ukrainians think foreigners are stupid which is why they pull this type of crap on them.

Well looks like you are meeting/going out with all the wrong type of girls.
Recently I hired a taxi to go right across Kiev, buy some stuff and return. It took about 2 hours to do all this and the driver even carried all the stuff to the apartment.
Total cost 80 Hryvna.
500 Hryvna for taxi and 2300 for a swimsuite, give me a break.
If you want to learn wisdom then I am sure many here will be willing to teach for half of what you paid

Why would a guy care if a girl respected him more for looking her in the eye and saying "no" when she tries to scam him? The two seconds or so that it takes for this gesture are a two seconds better used for pointing her to the exit door. Too many idjits like Michael think it's important to behave honorably when dealing with prostitutes like this (as well as the TR author's "Anna"). A Russian man would laugh and walk away - the correct gesture IMHO - while foolish Western guys choose to feed the lizards and then crow about how they only gave her a token sum or better yet, "learned their lesson" just this once.

A little advice is never go through Paris airport or fly air France or expect to lose your luggage (In past 5 years I have over a million flight miles and only had issues with my luggage on Air France and in the London and Paris airports).

To go to Kiev and meet agency girls are not a good idea. Very often the Kiev agency girls are very spoiled, especialy the good looking girls. Even Jack has said that there are better to go to smaller places and the eastern parts of Ukraine to look for girls...There are so many forreign men comming to Kiev, both to meet girls and also for business trips. The competition is very high and many girls makes good money on scamming honest men..Of course you can say that it is bad luck when you meet mostly "bad" girls, but I would rather say that you have not done your homework before going to FSU to find a girl. It is so importandt to do your homework, read other members post on this forum about going to the FSU and theyr exsperiences. If you are vell prepered you r chances of being sucesfull will improve A LOT!!!!
