A little confused, but not deterred.

Hello all who read this.  I'm a brand new member of RWD.  I have been seriously considering seeking the future mother of my children in the FSU.  I was in contact with a girl for a few months, then she just disappeared.  I most recently was exchanging emails with someone I thought was genuine.  Then a request for money for a visa came up... and whoa!!  Red flag.  I spent most of today doing a little research on scams.  Was dissappointing to say the least, when I found her picture on a scammers list (under a couple different names... makes me wonder who the real girl in the pictures is  ).  This has not discouraged me from continuing my search in far away Russia.  I have joined this site in the hopes of receiving encouragement and suggestions for my search.  My work keeps me very busy, and I don't do the bar thing anymore, so it's very difficult for me to meet local women.  I am using a select few online-dating sites as my medium.  The women in Russia are so beautiful; most seem very interested in family and I believe I have much to offer to one of them.  Just need to know how to spot if they are real.

Very simple advice.
1. Know what you want
2. Be ready to travel
3. Write
4. Call
5. Visit.

After returning from 5 you might have a decent idea on if she is real and existing.

To answer your question...yes, there are beautiful women in the FSU that also many other attractive qualities.  There are many of these women there who are single and looking for a good man.  Some of them will accept your children, some won't.  Some of them have children of their own.

The most difficult part of this adventure...and it is an adventure, is the time and money element.  Like any relationship, after you find the girl you like, you must invest time in the relationship to make sure you are compatible and that you really love each other and want to be together.  You may try to take shortcuts with either time or money, but your chances of success will decrease significantly. 

Read everything you can on this board, especially the RWD FAQ section.  Then, decide your method of first meeting, arrange the trip, and get on the plane.  That's pretty much what others here have done with varying degrees of success. 

Good luck and please don't hesitate to ask additional questions.

deccie & I/O - With regards to my busy work schedule.  Winter is the busy season for my line of work (I drive groceries and staff to remote oilfield camps).  In the spring and summer, the work schedule is less hectic, so I will be much more available for travel.  When next busy season arrives, it would be possible to book time off in advance, should I still have reason to travel again.

timothe - Perhaps I misworded myself.  I don't have any children yet.  I meant to put it across as finding the mother of our future children.

I shall be sure to read through the FAQ section... I can see there is a lot of good advice in there.  I'm certainly not wanting to dive blindly into a long-distance relationship.  The first girl I mentioned seemed genuinely sincere, wanting to take the time to know me.  The second seemed rushed to meet.  Is that a clue?  I'm willing to spend the time and money it will take.  I've read so many success stories, and would love to write my own.

Many will seemed rushed to meet as they want a real relationship and many may have wasted a lot of time on keyboard romeo's who never showed up when it came to the crunch.

Yes - when I first started communicating with women on Elena's models some of the women came out in their first email and said point blank when will I visit.  It is true that MOST men who go to the sites never step foot out of their city to seek a woman.

The short story is that I met my beautiful russian wife a little more than a year ago, visited her four times in Russia last year, and brought her back to USA on a fiancee visa with me to be married the last visit.

The kicker of all of that is we are best of friends and completely in love.  I can't imagine a life without her.
