Hello
« on: January 17, 2008, 06:45:46 PM »
I am dnice and I am new. I am a single male living in Houston Texas and I started getting information about Russian women through Bride's Agency. I am very curious about the process and would like to ask questions. I have been talking to a couple of ladies for about a week.

I want to know how difficult of a task to get your RW back into the states? How tough is it to visit Russia once you do make that connection. What are some signs of risk and is it better to find someone in a small town or big city. What is the divorce rate.

dnice,

First of all welcome to the forums.  You have found a great source to find many answers to your questions.

You seem to be hooked on the idea of finding yourself a good woman.  I can tell you from experience a few things:

1.  It is real.
2.  It is a real challenge.
3.  It can be really rewarding.

Take some time and read some of our trip reports and success stories.  Also read a few of the failures so you can see what can go wrong.

Good luck an feel free to get involved here a bit...  get ready for a crash course.

- Maxxum

Welcome dnice. Have you been talking on the phone or through letters?

If someday you wonder why some guys are PM'ing you and asking you for a date, it's probably because your profile says you're a female. Might want to change it.

Hey, dnice,
I am somewhat of a newbie here as well.  I have been here about 3 months and I can tell you that these guys are a wonderful resource.  Sure, some threads get a little "heated", but all in all you will find great information here.  I second Maxxum's thoughts on read, read, and then read some more.  I have gone through each forum from the beginning posts to present (didn't read everything, just the topics that sounded interesting) and learned a great deal.  Personally, I loved groovlstck's trip reports.  I would recommend reading them first.  I think I spelled his handle correctly, but may need to double check that.
I am getting ready to go over to Ukraine in the spring and will try to post TRs as good as old groov's but he has set a high bar to aim for.
Welcome aboard.
Thanks,
Dale N.

Bears advice to read until your eyes bleed is a very good recommendation. Russia is relatively easy to visit. You need a passport with some empty pages in it (at least three) You can get pages added to your passport if needed although it takes a little time. You need a visa and you can get one through either the Russian consulate or a place like gotorussia.com Some of the other FSU countries don't require a visa (like Ukraine for example) The question about where to seek an RW you will get 20 different answers from 20 different people and if you live in a little town vs Dallas for example could influence your decision or not.

Do a ton of reading and as you think of questions come back here and ask more questions. Pay your dues by reading here and
you will be far ahead of those who don't.

How difficult is it ........VERY

Udachi (good luck)

Hey dnice,

Welcome aboard. May you find what you're searching for. Always remember to have a plan B because plan A will not always be a success so you can have something to fall back on.
