An easily-discouraged executive
« on: January 29, 2008, 07:09:48 PM »
A couple of days ago I received at Origin Club this letter from pretty 30 y.o. Lubov (http://www.originclub.com/?a=srch&b=view&id=58712), a Kiev executive (?):

Hello Sandro43,
It's like the beginning of a dream for me. I have always dreamt to find someone like you. Now I clearly see my special man and me sitting by the fireplace and looking into each other’s eyes… a reflection of you in the mirror of my soul.
Life is so short to waste it and be lonely. And we are many times happier when we are together. How lovely it is just to walk in the park holding hands or just have a breakfast together. Imagine that when you come home I let you forget your everyday troubles and make you feel loved. It is like in paradise when I look and see that you are here, my beloved husband and a father for my son. There are people who wait for years before they take a chance to change their lives. I do not want any procrastination. I work hard and play hard. May be you do the same. It means you have to get what you want, whatever difficult it is.
My best wishes to you, you are welcome into my life, Lubov

She is understandably smitten by my undeniable handsomeness, despite my being well outside her stated acceptable range of 30-45. However, the only personalised part is in the all-too-easily adaptable 1st line, while, since she states in her profile:
Languages: English [4], French [5], Italian [2], Russian [4]
she could have easily added some words/sentences in any of our other shared languages.

I replied listing my above perplexities, she's read my letter yesterday but offered no reply so far.

Dear Santa, should I get on the first plane to Kiev ::) ;)?

Sandro,
You might should be checking air fares but don't book  the flight until she answers you.

Seriously, Sandro, don't be so skeptical.  I just wrote this in another thread"
I was ballsy enough to think I deserved a woman of Lena's caliber

Man up, dude, she could just be the one!

KenC, I shall abide by your seasoned wisdom, if only because she says "I am also interested in aquarium fish", and I am Aquarius and a mean swimmer in confined waters ;D.

Aquarium fish. Hmmm. Yep. A shark looking for some guppies. Gobble gobble.

So you'd say that by executive she really meant executioner :-[? Another of those Russglish quid-pro-quo's ;)?

Sandro,

You are something.  Her phrase "you are welcome into my life" would seal the deal for me.

I never received such a letter.  Not a first letter.  Not a letter well into correspondence.  Not even after meeting them and knowing that they had a great time and had said they liked me and missed me.

Italian men know how to woo a woman, to set her romantic soul free to express her feelings of love.  In her mind she is already married to you.  Very impressive work.  She is so smitten that she doesn't care whether you have money or not.

She doesn't appear high-maintenance from her profile:

Quote
Preferences (what you like): I like learning foreign languages and it takes much of my time.
Hobbies (favorite activities): I enjoy reading and traveling. As for sports, I prefer swimming and fitness. I am also interested in aquarium fish.

Toss her a few books and a pair of running shoes, and she should be happy (and admission to Milan's Acquario Civico, the 3rd oldest in Europe, is free ;D).
Perhaps I dismissed her too hastily :(.

Today I was surprised to receive another letter from Lubov, two weeks after our initial exchange:

Hello Sandro43,
I am very much offende by your letter to me! I just wanted to make you feel special by that phrase as your smile and eyes seem to be special I am sorry to hear your reaction. As for the age, here I will not explain with banal phrases the things other write. My belief is Love is impossible to get to rules. Well, i don't know about your reaction, but the letter I wrote was general, but that phrase were not for all men I sent it to. Well, have luck Lubov

Either it took her a long time to ponder the above, or she was too busy with other correspondence to bother earlier ;).

Aha... Btw, sandro -  the  girl on a picture  is  not even  aware  of any  of that. But the  one who was writing  for her is good - some  good english, some lack of basic knowledge of psychology...or sorry  the  knowledge was there...the concern was abcent. If you could contact  other members of the site, you'd  know thay all got the same with no regard to their age, appearence or demands.

Always forgive your enemies -- Nothing annoys them more :)
