Where to even start....
There is so much in St Petersburg.

I have been 6 times to that city and am still getting more out of it every time I go there.

It's a pity you won't be there in Summer as I highly recommend a river cruise with your lady.
Standard places:
Peterhof - Palace of the fountains
Pushkin - Catherine Palace (my personal favourite)
Pavlosk
Hermitage (a must do)
Church of the Spilled Blood
St Isaccs Cathedral
Nevsky Prospect

Not so Standard stuff:
Cruiser Aurora
Military Museum
Piskariovskoye Memorial Cemetery

A poster here named Phil lives there and he may be able to help you with services such as translator, tour guide, apartments, etc... I've used him and he came through for me in St. Piter.

Click the link for his profile and send him a PM.

Yes, really don't miss the oddities at the Kunstkamera!

For less touristy and manageable-to-see places, I really like the Nevskii lavra for atmosphere and the Russian Museum for art you can't see in the west, on a scale you can actually cover in an afternoon (as opposed to the Hermitage).

Good luck, J.

PM me with more details of your visit  such a length of stay and any budgetary concerns.  I'd be happy to give you a few pointers..

Here's one right now.. you get here on March 4th.  Women's day is March 8th.  DO NOT FAIL to give Natalya a gift.  The importance of this date CANNOT be overstated. You have been warned. :cluebat:
