Valentines Day
« on: February 11, 2008, 09:08:20 AM »
Ok guys,  with V'day coming up, have any of you consider doing something out of the ordinary or just do the usual flowers, candy, jewelry, dinner?  Do you send flowers by courier, deliver them yourself? If your wife works do you have deliveries done at work? Do you do flowers at all? Does your working day make it difficult to plan dinner? Do you plan it for another day?
Do you still do V'day and Womans day.  We do, but Val still dislikes for me to pay so much extra for roses so I lean more to the chocolate and maybe jewelry. Even 2 years later she refuses to accept the fact that roses go from $30 to $70. She tends to enjoy the traditional Womens Day more.
Note.....You new guys that buy or send flowers. Please remember that odd numbers are a must. 1-3-5-7-9-11. Even numbers are for somber occasions.

My wife will accept flowers from me but shortly thereafter will tell me never to buy her flowers again ie. they die in a couple of days.  Better to get a food or jewelry gift.  Jewelry always goes down well.  However, I usually get a nice card and a heart shaped carvel ice cream cake or a heart chocolate.  March 8 is still more important to her.

V-day and Women's day are the two busiest days of the year for Nina and me.  It always presents a problem because after a full day of buying, arranging, wrapping and delivering flowers, perfume, cards, and other gifts, the very LAST thing Nina wants to see is another floral arrangement!

One would think that a woman who has so little would be easy to buy for.  One would be mistaken.  This is what makes Nina such a special woman.  She wants for absolutely nothing as she has virtually no interest in material possessions.  Ask her what she wants and she will start pontificating about her desire for world peace and universal harmony.  Uhh... okay honey, but I don't think I can get that at the local mall....
