Some Insight into What AW Want from Men ...
« on: February 15, 2008, 01:09:44 PM »
Teaser from the article:

Quote
... most women these days are rather picky when it comes to a guy's ride. Your car really does send her all the right or wrong messages about how much money you make and what gets your engine running. Let's be honest, some girls just like a flashy ride too.

Having owned a couple of the older versions of the listed cars, I *can* say that the Nissan Z-car has sufficient interior room, properly configured, for a little .... snuggling.

The Eclipse is a little cramped, but the older turbo versions were a BLAST to drive.

Enjoy!

I don't think you can really know what cramped means, unless you, too, happened to snuggle in this ;).

Dan,
A little cramped?  Huh?  You would have to be a contortionist to get laid in that car!  (One of the reasons why I bought it for my son as his first car!)    Of course he almost lost his new license the first week too for exiting the freeway at 85! :hairraising:

Give me my 68 Road Runner with that very roomy back seat!  Now you are talkin bout a love machine!

Hmmm.. perhaps a poll in this subject.

Age ranges in which you've done the wild thing in a vehicle... with a yes or no at the bottom if you've been caught by anyone.

Of course this doesn't have a darn thing to do with FSU women...

Only 1 avatar has been harmed in the making of this post.. and in my defense.., avatar torture is a "grey area" and has only been used in this case to extract information.. and besides, isn't golf just self induced torture anyway ?

Quite so, I was in my early 20s and more agile then (and parents/hotels/motels not so accomodating ;)), wouldn't dream of doing it now :o 8).

I chose my parking spots wisely, and was never caught in flagrante delicto, fortunately. Legend has it that a famous secluded "retreat" in the hills over Naples was highly regarded because of its available services: a discreet kiosk for refreshments, and a fellow who would sell newspaper pages and some Scotch tape (so that one could make his "love nest" private) and would also sound an alarm in case he'd spot any police patrol cars approaching ;D.

Geez Sandro,
If you were doing it right, the windows should have been fogged up er, naturally!  (Heavy breathing does that, you know)  No newspaper necessary!

Apparently you're not familiar with the phase diagram of water ;): your idea only works in cold weather, when low windshield and window glass temperatures cause the moisture in your breath to reach its dew point and condensate. Unless, of course, you also raise significantly the ambient pressure inside, but I think a date would become alarmed if one brought along, say, an aqua lung and started fiddling with its valve prior to cuddling ;D.

Sandro,
You can choose to blame your dilemma on the balmy weather, but doesn't it just matter that it is much hotter inside the car than outside of it?  You just needed to turn the heat up, dude.

My first car was a 1968 GTO..........they don't really make back seats for 6' 7" (201cm) guys, but I firmly believe if there is

That is one snazzy azzed bike, Gator!  Were the saddlebags for newspapers?  I know I had to wait until I was 12 to get my first paper route.

I'm only 6'3" so unlike 2TallBill, I found the back seat of my '67 GTO in high school as accomodating (and considerably more affordable) as a hotel room.  ;D

VW Bugs on the other hand, required a bit of contortionism.  But the '65 Mustang was worse: not only too dang short, but only about 10" deep.  Kept falling off onto the console!

Thank the gods those days are over. Fun as they were.  :P

I've lost count of how many cars I've had but a number of them stand out.  Some for the memories created within them, others for the myriad of mechanical malfunctions created BY them.  A few favorites in no particular order:

'69 Roadrunner:  Vinyl seats + Arizona summer = a real scorching

'68 Dodge A-100 van.   The original love machine

'80 VW Rabbit 2 door.  It took a bit of effort, but a couple could get cozy in it!

'73 Pontiac Grand Safari wagon.  Fold down all the seats and it created so much room you could have an orgy back there.  Really.

'81 Trans AM.  Sure it was a chick magnet.  Trouble was you couldn't fit a six pack in the back seat, much less an amorous couple.

But for the ultimate in rolling romance you couldn't beat Ramblers... with the reclining front seats!!

Of course, my father's FIAT 1100 TV (Turismo Veloce) was much more comfortable, what with its bench seats AND a gearshift lever conveniently located on the steering wheel column ;D. Alas, it was not always at my disposal  :(.

Depends on what sort of heat you're referring to, physical or physics ;)? The latter will dissipate any fog in the air, the former will probably induce some foggy perceptions ;D.

Sandro,
I too experienced the joys of driving a cinquecento in Italy...circa 1969.  I think the guys misunderstand the purpose of the newpapers on the windows...not needed in the cool nights but indespensible on a downtown street at 14.00 hours!

Hey, a couple of goat (GTO) owners here. I bought mine new in '69. Awesome 8 track on the center console. Retractable lights gave it a very cool look. Sold it many years later when I backed into a tree (lightly) and couldn't figure which dent it was.

My car "adventures" started in a old -70 Volvo 142.
Not a very good space in it but it's was a trusty and safe car...... ;D

The -66 Chevy Chevelle i had was better in that.
You americans must have been fat over the arse back in those days to............ :mooning: (joking)

The Volvo S60 i have now i haven't broken in yet, but i will work on it and come back with a report on it... :P

Definitely "chick repellent" here in the states, but I used to borrow my Mom's 145 from time to time:

The "chick magnet" was my '67 Austin Healey, problem was, this car was so friggin' small it made Pintos and Gremlins look like Eldorados and Lincolns

***discliamer: The photos posted are not those of the actual cars I owned/drove but fairly accurate likenesses googled up on the net  ;)

You must have been one frustrated SOB!!!!

If you drove the Volvo you couldn't get a girl in it without a gun to her head,
And if you were in the Austin Healy the chicks would line up but it was so friggen small that you couldn't do anything.  Either way, you weren't getting laid!
