Hey everybody!
« on: February 22, 2008, 11:25:09 PM »
Hi all,

I've been lurking for a couple weeks since I discovered this site so I thought I would finally take the plunge and join up.  I've been divorced for about 2 years now from an AW and I have decided to do what our open capitalist society so graciously encourages us to do when the quality of the domestic product is unacceptable or defective - Find an Import!  Seriously, I have just started corresponding with a woman in Odessa about a month ago and I am thinking of taking a trip to the Ukraine within a few months.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained!  Any information is appreciated as I have never travelled overseas before and I speak no Russian or Ukrainian, so I can use all of the tips I can pick up.  On the other hand, I have always been up to the challenges encountered in my life and I love adventure so I am excited to start the journey.  Tally ho!

Welcome to RWD. May I ask how you came in contact with the woman from Odessa?  Read all you can here. It is time well spent.

Thanks for the encouragement!  I have had a profile listed on RussianEuro.com for over a year as an unpaid "standard" member.  I upgraded to a paid "gold" member for one month recently and received about 2 dozen "show interest"  messages from different women and started a correspondence with a woman named "Liubov" in Odessa.  She is quite lovely in her pics but unfortunately has only a high school education and says she works as an "office manager" which she says is a glorified title for secretary.  Is not having a university education a red flag since I have heard university education is easily and readily available in FSR?  She is 27 and has a 7 year old boy so she must have had him when she was 19 or 20 years old and that could be part of the explanation.  We seem to have hit it off fairly well in our conversations thus far, but on the other hand as far as I know at this point she could be a toothless old man sitting in a basement somewhere making fake profiles since I have not seen her on a webcam.  She says she is using a translation agency as she is not yet comfortable communicating completely in English.

SwissKid,

It is time to telephone her.

Ask her for her telephone number and arrange a 3-way with an American interpreter.  A few talks will tell you more than 50 letters.  Perhaps her English is sufficient for simple discussions.  If not, it begs the question of whether you wish to start a relationship with someone who can not talk with you.

You need to decide if you are a WOVO or WMVM man.  The RWD archives are replete with endless debate of the issue.

Yes, some women's plans for a university degree have been interrupted by children, becoming a single mama, etc.

I do not know about RussianEuro.com; however, I glanced at it and it seems legitimate.  You may wish to look at Elena's Models if you are planning a WMVM trip.
