Has anyone tried www.holostyak.com?

I came across this website www.holostyak.com and it looked like another good website where AM can make a search for women and register and post their profile too. They don't write too much in their profiles but I think this still can be another good option among others.
What do you think?

The dating site seems to have a lot of potential with many RW located in the States. Doesn't seem like there's much control though since some profiles look to be from prostitutes looking for a short term relationship or advertising other websites in their profiles. Also there are girls as young as 13 posting profiles. Hopefully those profiles are just a police sting.

I used the site years ago.  When I used it, everyone's profile was in Russian language.  There were very few scammers but not all of the girls wanted an American man.  (some wanted Russian men that lived in other countries)

Yes, i have noticed all this, guys. And now they have English version that you can click on. I think this is another potential website where you know that women at least have a computer and check their email hopefully regularly.

I've dated some local Russian women I met on love.mail.ru.  Even though it's a Russian-langugage site, you can still list an American city in your profile and do searches for girls who are here in the States.

My observation from dating these girls: they quickly become Americanized!  You can definitely tell the difference between the established Russian girls here and the Russian girls you find in Russia...

Well, westernised or americanised can be a good thing too. I am americanised as much is it gets. It is the matter of time when your woman will be too. It just means she will adapt to the culture and norms that are typical of her environment. It is just important to be faithful to your principles, your faith, your heart. That doesn't change no matter what country she is in. On the outside i am American but in my heart I am Anastassia. Always has been and always will be.

I've used holostyak years ago, not a bad site if you are a russian speaker.
One thing I noticed about the RWs that are already here in the US and are single. The vast majority of them isn't really interested in AM, and that is the reason you won't see them on match, yahoo or eharmony. The way I see it, most of these women came here by marrying a AM in the first place...then divorced him...and now they are looking for a local RM in America. When I was single and looking I explored this and talked to many RWs living in the US advertising on free russian sites. I found that there were 4 kinds of women advertising there: 1. Married an AM, got her status, a job in the USA and now divorced and looking for a guy who she'll feel culturally closer to, or as a couple of these girls put it to me "somebody for the soul". She basically used an AM for a free ride...well not totally free, she had to give it up for a couple of years and play the part of a loving wife to come to the US and become legal here. The morals of these women are not exactly my cup of tea, so obviously I didn't hook up with none, even though a couple that i briefly dated were quite difficult to resist...These are the majority IMO
2. The women who married an AM who left him because he turned out to be a real a$$hole, abusive, alcoholic or just a nasty dude. These women usually don't want to look at another AM after such an experience.
3. There are some illegal immigrants who are looking  for a way to become legal through marriage to the US citizen. Obviously it's a huge gamble if you want to marry someone like that since you should know from the getgo what her prerogative is (not unlike many women registered with agencies still in the FSU).
4. Young girls 18-23 who came here on a student visa or Aupar(I'm probably not spelling this correctly) who are not thinking of marriage yet and are mostly looking for a young guy, their age or just a couple of years older for just dating.
These are the choices that I learned about on my own experience. Now there are exceptions to every rule and also there are some women there who basically grew up in the US (their parents brought them here as kids). But these women are pretty much like regular American girls and in many cases even more demanding.
So what's left is a very small minority of potential prospects who are sincere, good, marriage minded women already here in the US. IMO you would have a much better chance finding your RW in the FSU and if you know what you are doing, how and where to look, how to communicate, etc your chances are 99% (figuratevely speaking) better finding her there. In my case, being an American citizen, but a native Russian speaker I could have gotten some of these women if I wanted to. But after talking to many of them and dating a couple, I still decided to find my wife in Russia inspite of all the work, time and expence associated with it. And that's what I did, and very happy that I made that choice.

I had bad experience or total lack of it with RM and it all worked out perfectly with AM. And I never wanted to date RM here in the US, this was out of the question, only American. My second husband actually turned out to be Canadian.

well, it's my second marriage as well, only now it's to a RW.

Just a little reminder - i have a second marriage because my first husband tragically passed away. I was not dissappointed in that relationship or marriage, not even close, totally the opposite. So my faith in American Men (especially Germans  ) was then and is unbeatable. Now Tim is originally from Canada but German too.  That's peace and love between Russians and Germans for you, instead of a war.

yes I was. She was a good girl from the midwest and we met at college in Boston, I was 20 and she was 18.
15 years later we got divorced, but on good terms, we still talk when we bump into each other at a grocery store Luckily we didn't have any kids (she doesn't like children).
 So I'm an "older" daddy now!

When I was 21 years old, I remember saying - AND BELIEVING - that I would only marry a virgin! 

God only knows the origin of such thought: egoism, insecurity; Catholicism?

Life experiences change things, and I am having many.  I recently met a Russian woman who was particularly beautiful (A GREAT UNDERSTATEMENT)  - she knew English and undoubtedly had already broken many hearts (you could tell by the way she walked, talked, smiled, and teased - a Goddess!). 

I found myself in a foyer of a grand house examining a large painting of a female figure. One half depicted a dark side: forceful and erotic; the other a righteous and proud woman in a wedding gown.  Then, I heard the words "There is good and bad in all Russian women."  Then, it was revealed to me that it was a self portrait of the blond beauty.

Is it so hard to believe?

In me, I see wild and mild.  Why could it not be in a woman.  Just because I behave this way today; when I am single and not committed does not men I lived another life in the past, and can live another life if the future.  In fact, I may be better because of it?!?!?

Is it impossible to believe the same is true for a woman?

I am inclined not to want an untouched flower (I think that is illusionary in itself).  I am attracted to people like me who have explored and experienced widely. Then, with the benefit of all experience, make a decision  - a commitment.  It could be argued that only such a person CAN make a commitment; all others are just practicing avoidance and abstinence.

Food for thought ...  and no I never used www.holostyak.com  I tried one Russian speaking site 6 months ago - it was a lot of work!   There are easier ways

I put my profile on Holostyak last July and waited. This way only a Russian woman who wanted an American should reply. It did not matter to me if she lived in U.S or Russia. This was vs. my taking the time and effort to weed out some of the others.

Several very nice women wrote me and the one I really liked I have been writing to since then. I met her in Moscow in January and she was everything she represented herself to be. And more!

We are meeting again the end of May and traveling to Turkey. Cheaper than Moscow. My idea - not hers.

In the Fall I plan to go to her home town and meet friends and family.

Yeah, I tried it. I put a profile up, got some replies which led onto money requests.

I did find the RW on the site put very little info in thier profiles, so theres not much to go on.

Almost all of thier replies are about 1 or 2 sentences long, and tell you a secondary email address to contact them on.

Their replies from that are almost always carbon copy letters, dont answer your questions, but general ramblings how about how brighter their day is having met you etc etc.

Id steer clear.

I got that a few times on different sites. Never did bother to find out what it was about. Somebody ever tried?

when you email them, they've got your email address. Then they sell addresses they collect to different companies that spam you. It also might be the way for scammers to collect email addresses of men who are looking into getting a RW wife.
Every time I create a profile for a new client on several Russian sites that I use, I get very similar messages from a few members in broken Russian. They usually say that she feels we are very comapatible, love has no boundries yada yada yada and in the end asks to email her at usually some yahoo address. So there are definitely a few people on all dating sites harvesting email addresses and like with many other things one needs to be careful...
