Jack Bragg makes GQ Magazine April 2008...
« on: March 21, 2008, 04:45:23 PM »
I was looking at the sex issue of GQ magazine that just hit the shelf.  On page 200 there is an article "From Russia with Prenup" that talks a lot about the current state of the MOB industry in Russia.  Jack Bragg is pretty much the primary source of information they quote.

Not sure if anyone else noticed the article.  It's pretty good reading and I would recommend it for newbies as it talks about myth vs reality today a little bit.

Am I late in posting this?  I did not hear about it until actually picking up the magazine.  I decided to read the first paragraph or so and right there in the first sentence of the article Jack Bragg is mentioned.  His photo is in GQ also.

Congrats Jack...  I think this should get you some benefits.

It looks like GQ has to survive these days as they have nobody else to ask about the current state of the MOB industry in Russia except for Texas ex-truck drivers.

Serebro....

Not that he is one of my most favorite people in the world...  Matter of fact we have had major run ins him and I.

However after saying that, Jack happens to be one of the more knowledgeable people in the world about what is going on in the industry.  I think they found a good source to be honest.  This is from my experience in the whole process.

If you read the article it is actually pretty factual and spot on in most ways.

Ok....  time to take my wife out for dinner.  ;)

I am put in a very uncomfortable position of defending a man I don't honestly know if I care for myself personally all that much.

In any case...  Serebro...  If he did give that information...  what would be wrong about providing it?  You can easily find russian whores online.  Not a bad thing...  matter of fact they look to be quality whores.  I am personally uninterested at such things however there are many men that would make good use of this information...  which is the point of a publication, delivering information.

So...  it seems you in some way confirm that I think that jack does have some handle on the FSU/Ukraine market for women.

Again... I am slightly uncomfortable even asking this question...  What single person would you recommend besides Jack Bragg that you think is more experienced in the MOB industry including on the ground real face to face experience?

Jack in GQ. Jack in GQ.

I am sure he had a great article. But GQ?????

thats like...like..like KenC in WrestleMania.  Or Gator in Surfing International.

the visuals are...my poor brain. :selfharm:

Think what you might about Jack, he is and has been the "go to guy" on these forums for many a year.  I know of him bailing many guys out of jams in the fsu and he asked for nothing.  When a naive friend of mine wanted to go to Ukraine, I sent him straight to Jack.

Utrobina,
Jack is the owner of First Dreams, a marriage agency.  He resides in Texas and put on the best tours in the industry.  Look up his many posts here under member name "Jack."

For your viewing pleasure and to ease your mind, would Dune Buggy Enthusiasts suffice?  Sorry about the photo quality - those 30-year old magazines don't hold up very well.  You want more recent photos - because of my painful back I am being considered for a spread in Crumbling Patriarch.

With my 'fro from those years long ago, you may have accepted me into your kennel if I dyed my hair black.

Yes...  Jack in GQ.

The mens magazine.  I am actually surprised that Maxxim didn't get him first.  It's quite a correct article.  Not a total rave...  but surely a must read for RWD members.

Oi Gator you have curly hair :) how cute

you know I would not believe what they write in those  trash papers anyway, whether is Jack writing there or somebody else, they just always give a one view about it , strange you buy those magazines Maxxum as you are married , why would you need those things

I just can tell you from my experience, I work in the same buliding where we have Publishing house and they are issuing all those magazins like XXl , FHM, moulin rouge and so on, I know the quality of these magazines, I get them for free each month and none of my friends want to have it, for free they do not want to have it, so I just throw them into the waste busket, GQ I agree a little bit different and maybe more conservative, but still the same sh-t :)

If some of you guys want russian version of those magazines I mentioned above I can always leave them somewhere in the airport reception place for you ahahahhaha

Here's a link to the article on GQ.  It's actually a fair and balanced article.  I'm a subscriber, I can't wait to get the print version to see if there are any good pictures.

http://men.style.com/gq/features/landing?id=content_6700

Like all of us, Jack Bragg has his good and bad points.  But, he's running a legit operation, which by itself makes him better than 80% of what's going on in the FSU.  And Jack knows what is happening on the ground over there, he knows all these agencies and who's running a legit shop and who's running a scam.  Jack has given me occasional advice during the past couple of years that has been useful and helpful.

Not too bad.

But isn't the 'market' top heavy with the personal email contact, alluded to?  Difficult to make into 'interesting' copy I guess.

Even over here, because of TV documentaries and You Tube, the 'lonely cowboy on tour' is still a public image.

Twobit, thanks for the link.  The Anastasia spokesperson was a joke.  Jack came accross fine.  I think it was a realistic article, though negatively spun.  All it pointed out was how hard it is to find a wife in the FSU these days etc. as opposed to the positive, ie. that one can still find a wife in the FSU etc. with work, luck and dedication etc.

That photo was taken in Moscow. The dogs are Black Russian Terriers. The small one in my hands is the puppy I came home with. Her name is Tasha. I have had a RD (Russian Dog) living with me for 2 years now.

Adriana Lima was on the cover.  She is a victoria's secret model so I have been seeing her face for a few years.  It was the first time I saw her outside of a VS catalog.  I picked the magazine up because the woman is quite simply smoking hot.  I am married - yes - but I am not dead!

I guess me noticing the Jack Bragg reference is proof positive that some of us men actually read the words inside those magazines.  LOL

Ok...  Well looks like we have good feedback from people that read the article.  Personally I don't see much of a negative spin on it.  Seems like they are spot on that it is not as easy as it used to be and also that the women are more picky these days.  I know my wife had her own list of things that she required in a man.

And I did not even have to file a K-1 !! And simliar to an RW:

1. Very faithful
2. Does not demand much
3. Careful what she eats
4. Keeps her space reasonable clean (sometimes)
5. But will talk back when she feels like being a bit stubborn.

Now that  have read the article some observations:

Jack comes off as knowledgable but a bit shallow and crass (which is an accurate picture IMO)

The American clients come off as middle class social misfits (which unfortunately is also an accurate picture of the typical man on tour IMO)

The real meat of the piece is that there are few "easy pickings" in the fsu countries now that the economics have improved.  Fewer desperate women willing to take any leap of faith to get to the promised land.  Personally, I think this is great news even if it eliminates the bottom 2/3 of the men seeking a RW.  Not good news for the agencies, but a correction in a flawed scenario where the men were using their financial superiority (and little else) to woo desperate women.

Not good for the agencies Ken, but who needs agencies, beyond the contact type (eg. EM).  Certainly not your 'top 1/3' I wager, if the American men I've met 'in the field' are anything to go by.

And how do Australasians and Western Europeans fit in the mix?  Well, I don't think we've ever toured.  We've just used contact sites.  The English 'players' I've had contact with, without exception, would have qualified for your 'top 1/3'.  The bottom 2/3 do go abroad often, but generally drink themselves into a stupor or are amateur sex tourists. And they are only likely to make it to the FSU, if there's a football match at the end of the journey.

Which is nice.

This is exactly what I have been stressing for the past 18 months.  The pursuit has changed.  Attractive women in the big cities under 30 receive more than ample attention from local men with money.  That is why the tours are going to more remote smoke stack cities.

This situation is even good for the socially inept men who will be saving themselves a lot of grief by not being able to attract someone who would have been a disaster.

In the past there were some cases when man's supposedly financial superiority was a hoax and he used his charm to finesse it.  Those marriages will also be avoided.

Regarding Jack, I am amazed but not shocked by his confession regarding the criterion he used to choose between two women during his first trip.

Maxxum,

You have done the board a good service by finding this article.  IMO it should be required reading for newbies contemplating a trip to the FSU.  So I suggest a mod split this under a different title in the newbie forum as not too many newbies will read something with the title of "Jack Bragg."
