Anastassia Ash Comes Through Yet Again

Here's a little of the history of my story. I've been involved with a lady from Kharkiv for about 2 years. After many email, 2 trips and some presents, things just seemed not right with her. She always claimed things were fine and had tales of woe to explain things away. After finding Anastassia and Regal Translatioins here at RWD, I decided to do a 3-way call to brighten my lady's day. After our first call, Anastassia said something did not seem right to her. I mentioned this to my lady, and another tale of woe explaining her stress. Now on to call #2, things go fine, all better I thought. Now on to call #3, after our call, Anastassia clues me in to a few instances and tells me to her something is not right. So again its another email to my lady, this time I ask her some direct questions and tell her that something has to be wrong. Well I won't go into the details here, but suffice to say, I'm back on the market.

Anastassia's help has been invaluable. Her instincts were correct. Anyone entering into this endenvor would be wise to enlist Anastassia and her services, I can't recommend her enough. She is one class act.

I concur. Never used her services, don't know the lady personally, but have read enough on here to draw my own conclusions. We are not always in agreement, but that doesn't lower my respect for her at all. Perhaps the opposite in fact.

Good move Fred in getting AA to help you.  A bright RW will "read" another RW far better and quicker than we mere WM have the ability.  Things a WM may chalk up to "cultural differences" may in reality be something much more significant.

My recent transaction with Anastassia was but a single document to be translated.  You get personal service and diligence and more time from her than you even pay for!  When in need of such a service, I would call Anastassia first each and every time.  Regal is an appropriate name for her company because that is the type of service you get.

Hello all, Anastassia was also a great help to me also. She and my fiance Val had a few phone conversations and she also did some translations for me. I was very pleased by her professionalism and concern for both of us. The only concern she had was the fact that Val's daughter Alina (19) will be staying in Ukraine for 3 more yrs to finish her university degree and it will be very hard for Val to move here, get adjusted to a new culture, missing her friends and especially her daughter. I believe with alot of patience and understanding, a ton of TLC, and faith, love and hope that we will make it...even though it will be hard, it will be worth everything in the long run. I am hoping and Anastassia has expressed that eventually Alina should move here after her schooling...even though it is her decision.

Well, guys, thank you very much for this thread. I was actually thinking to start another thread where i can say thank you to all of you, but here it is already. 

I saw many of you posted about me and recommended my services. Thank you very much for mentioning that here on this board and sharing your experience with others. Some of you have been doing this faithfully during all this time and posted lots of times in the threads where needed saying that people can get lots of help from me. This is very nice of you.

I feel very strongly that you and Val should have heeded Anastassia's suggestion.  You are headed down a very ill-advised path IMO and I'll tell you why.
Alina wants to remain in Ukraine 3 more years to finish her University degree?  Then what?  Her degree, if she graduates, will be of little value in the states..depending on the major.  Further, Alina will not be able to join her mother for several years at which time she will have to start over while in her late twenties?
Perhaps Val does not understand Alina's potential in the US is far greater than any she might have in Ukraine.  The only exception I can think of to that would be if Alina's father is well connected in business or government.

Further, if she comes with her mother now, and decides she would be happier back in Ukraine, she can always return.  The same cannot be said if she reaches the age of 21 with no visa (K-2).  She'll be unable to visit her mother in America until her mother sponsors her and by then she'll be in her late twenties.

Further yet, separation from her daughter and vise versa, can be a further reason for Val to feel alone and out of place.  The two together, with you, can give them each strength.

I have no doubt the present course is ill-advised and I suggest you allow Anastassia to go over these points again with Val and Alina. 

Alina is really too young to know what's best for her in the long run. I strongly suspect she is simply not wanting to leave friends.

PS>>Do not rule out the possibility that Alina is experimenting with drugs and knows that a medical exam would reveal that.  I have had an experience with that situation...ironically, the girl's name was also Alina.  No accusations here of course, but it is one potential hidden explanation to keep in the back of your mind.. Do not suggest this to Val...she may come that suspicion on her own due to other factors such as money disappearing from her purse.

What I really appreciate is her honest, forthright approach while having genuine concern in helping a guy find the right lady. She has a great heart, and in talking with her has always made me feel like she had my best interests in mind.

You can really sense from her posts here that she is in a happy relationship herself, and I know that she wants that same feeling for all of us bachelors still looking.

Some really good points there Ronnie. As to drugs or anything like that with Val's daughter - I don't think so. They seem like really good educated people. I would really be surprised.

The only thing that is for staying there - is that education there is much better than here, quality wise. Unless eagle59 has extra hundreds of thousands of dollars to burn on her last years of the university here. Because she HAS to finish her university, there or here, no doubt. So it's quite a dilemma. I said sooner or later daughter should be together with her mother, and I suggested she should do the same, start searching for a foreigner right after graduating. This would be perfect in my mind.

Ronnie, your points are valid, but I don't think it is the case with this family. I was not kidding about education, there are several threads on this board dedicated exactly to that and this is just my opinion, opinion of a professional teacher, actually two teachers. I was not talking about immigration, my idea was for Val's daughter start searching for her US man to marry and be happy here, both of them together. Of course there is an element of being together with her mom, and in this case this is what we are talking about, but i just want her to be truly happy too in her personal life and not be stuck with some Russian man and be miserable forever. (don't start me on that please). There is nothing wrong with that, she is or will be at that age.

I will implore you to set aside the debate on which country has the better universities.. It's another debate that has apparently already been wrung out elsewhere.  Alina is not attending school in Moscow from what I understand.  Even if she were, can you seriously say that she will get a better economic education in the FSU that in the West?
Accounting was invented in Italy and until recently, western economics was not taught or practiced in Russia or Ukraine.

Furthermore, you know all too well how the professors in the FSU are paid.. on student bribes for real income.  Laws of economics teach that quality and price will almost always be found together.  You can get a good education or a free education but you cannot get and good education that is free.

Eagle is a neophyte on these issues; you are a smart and usually sensible person.  I ask you to swallow your pride and reverse your position and, if just this one time, don't let pride overrule your good sense.  If you will not speak the evident truth to Eagle, Val and Alina, then you must share in the blame when the problems ensue from taking this unwise course.

Sorry to hear things didn't work out for you, but thank God Anastassia was there to help you sort things out.  It doesn't surprise me that she had the instincts to see what you didn't.  She is one very sharp lady.  I have asked her advice here in the past and she has never let me down.  She has my deepest respect.  All that and a babe too!  Her hubby is a very lucky man!  (And we here at RWD are lucky to have her as a member here too)

Ronnie, I totally understand the impact my advice can have. I was actually the one who raised this problem to him too and told him that daughter and mother shouldn't be apart and the best would be for her to come here. This is my perfect solution for them I suppose. But her daughter is very independent, is very happy for her mom, but doesn't have any plans to move with her or anything else. It is daughter's decision to stay there for whatever reason and nobody can really do anything about it. Ronnie, if you want to reinforce your opinion, talk to Eagle privately and tell him about another case you know. I just said that the only reason for her to stay there is to graduate from the university, and that's the only 'good' reason in my mind if you look at the bigger picture. Other than that in my opinion she should join her mom. But you, Ronnie, and me can't really 'make' people do anything. So i raised my concerns and it is for them to decide.

I feel lucky that i met you and other respected members here. I always picture in my mind this big bbq party with like 30-40 members and their wives and kids. And you Ken are standing in your shorts as you said (in Christmas) and taking care of some hotdogs or burgers while 2tallbill throws jokes after jokes and I/O and Cuna make you smile just with their Ozzie accent....and then later we all line up starting from the couple who married the earliest and ending with the youngest bachelor and Dan gives this inspiring speech and little thank you presents for being such an awesome community...

I got the impression you were supporting the daughter's decision by some of you comments about quality of education and the possibility of finding her own foreign husband in the future.  The daughter is making a decision that will almost certainly have negative consequences for not only herself but for her mom and Eagle.

Unless Val is unusual, she, as a forty-something will find adapting to America more challenging.  Having her daughter by her side will make if better and improve the chances of family happiness.  Every effort should be made to pursuade the daughter, who I feel is making her decision for superficial and temporary reasons.  It's normal for a 19 year old to not see a bigger picture than her own daily routine.

I'm relieved to hear you advised her properly.
