Given that the Soviet Union only fell 17 years ago (1991), there wouldn't be many women who left Russia simply for the purposes of marriage before then.

I know of a couple that have been married for over 20 years. They have 4 children. She got out of the Soviet Union and was granted asylum in the US for religious persecution. She and her family spent a year holed up in the basement of the US embassy in Moscow back in the mid 80s, waiting for the Soviet Union to grant her and her family permission to leave.

I know a number of Russian couples who were married for more than
15 years. If you go to Russia you will find even more.
