jmana,  you need to get a grip on reality.  Or...just send da' goyle a WU moneygram.  Then go to the airport and wait for her plane to arrive.  Bring a sleeping bag and some munchies.  You are almost begging to be scammed so you might as well let it happen and get it over with.   Hint:  Dis' goyle iz prubly a goiy. :selfharm:

Nigerian scammers pull this trick all the time on eBay. They'll bid high for an electronics item like a laptop or digital SLR, then send a bogus check. There are some people foolish enough to send them the item before the check clears, then they're not only out whatever item they were selling but their bank will often close their account for the hassle they've caused.

The fake checks are even cashier's checks, money orders..you name it... they can counterfeit it.  No one is better at counterfeiting that the eastern Europeans and Russkies. 

Oh I forgot the N. Koreans.. There it's what supports the government.

Please accept my apologies Jmana.  I didn't intend to offend you though I know that's how it turned out.  I just couldn't resist the... TEMPTATION. 

Oh, you didn't offend me!  I appreciate people being blunt with me about this.  I tend to be a little naive so that is why when something doesn't seem right I try to ask people who have been there.  But I do know whenever I hear Western Union, I immediately see stop signs in my head.  I sent a lot of money to my ex through them, the messed up thing was she didn't even get it, it was her aunt and grandmother who were scamming me!

On a very serious note, you might want to play along but get the US Secret Service involved.  They are charged with investigating financial crimes.  If there IS a person located in the United States (which I doubt), they can put him/her away.  Best thing is to ask for a contact number for the sister. 

Your "Polish girl" will probably say she can't be reached because she is traveling (how did SHE reach her then).  Problem is, if it seems to the scammer that you might be wise to them, the commucation will come to an abrubt stop, so play dumb.

Wanna have some fun?  Remember my uncle counter-scheme from my earlier post?  Well, as it turns out, your Uncle Nick works for the airline and will be at the ticket booth in Warsaw (or whatever Polish city she is in) for the next three weeks.  So you called your Uncle and got everything set up. All she needs to do is go there and ask for him, and he will get her right on the plane with no cash on the table.

Don't worry about losing a legit gal this way because she isn't one.

the USA sister, has known all along she is coming to visit...
but all of a sudden is out of town,
 and for some bizaare reason can not send money to poland..
but CAN arrange to send it to you..

 

why are you even trying i nth eslightest to make this legit in your mind..

and THATS the real scary thing.

there will alwas be con artist and scammers.

you letting yourself become over invested in this emotionally,
 to someone you have never met..
THATS th ereal issue!  and what needs to change.

There is absolutely NEVER a good reason to do so.

I can solve this problem for you very easily. Wire me the funds via Western Union. Then I will send the funds on to the Polish woman.  Then have her send me the  funds via Western Union and I will give the money back to you.  Then have her sister wire me the funds via Western Union and I will send the money on to whomever she wishes.  Her parents and other family and friends could also wire the funds to me.  I will invest the money, double the funds in 3 months, and send the increased sums back to them.
