I wouldn't refer to ANY country If you mean any Western country then we again have to qualify exactly what time and social strata we are talking about.
I'd say that on the average (if you can draw any averages from, say, rural Italy or Greece and sophisticated Harvard Law graduates in Washington political circles or French aristocratic jet set), I'd rather think that 12-15 is pretty common and 10 - close to a median age difference. If you consider the second marriages, the statistics will grow even more complicated, I think.

As to Russian/American marriages, well, I'd think the greater age difference is more common than not since for the American party this wiil tend to be a second marriage with grown kids, while the Russian partner either didn't find an established spouse of roughly her own age, or was already divorced from an age-"suitable" one and was seeking a partner with different characteristics.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to be rather over-emphasizing the "foul tendency" of more mature American males to seek younger spouses in Russia over the free choice of Tussian fiancees. They have some choice in this matter, don't they

And the goals and expectations, also the reasons for marrying are somewhat different for second marriages, too. I bet you'll have some trouble finding many shotgun marriages or coupling in wedded bliss of school dropouts in their 20s within the second etc. marrying crowd 

As to your second sweeping statement I'd hotly disagree. There's much more chance of porblems in marital bed to be found with a red-hot stud in his 20s - who'll as likely as not think of not much than getting his rocks off with everything that moves, than with a guy in his 40s (or even 50s in many cases) with a great and varied experience, who knows how to satisfy a woman and also puts a premium on his partner's satisfaction as enhancing his own.

Also such a very common "trouble in bed" as premature ejaculation is a young man's problem mostly - this is not a conjecture but sex pathologists statistics

And yes, I'm an avid subscriber to the point of view that sex is more in the head than in the body. Where the brain is involved would be much better than where it's only brawn

I think the woman situation in Alaska is different than in the rest of the States however. I remember being there during two summers, even the toothless women had a circle of men around them.

My thoughts:

Everyone is different.  Supposedly there are many 20-something men who are very good in bed ("swordsmen").   

Some women are very physical.  A swordsman is what she wants.  And if such a woman explains what she wants and guides a man, even an inexperienced young man, she should eventually get what she wants, or at least what she needs.  Is it that difficult to learn the physical techniques and the variances among women?

What is more difficult is learning how to relate emotionally to a woman whose emotional needs are coupled with her physical urges.  I found that most women are not machines and a young man may not fully satisfy them.  Nor would an older man if he is unable to "read" her.  Remember, the largest sex organ is the brain.
