I am totally with I/O (or he is with me  :D).
Though I understand some  people on this board who keep talking of "how it should be" They look at it as a commercial and you're right- the commercial needs to be perfect.
The key thing is the agency owner himself- he does it the way HE sees it.
Ken, John was probably misled by the owner about the the way to dress (by the way I am watching this thing again and see jeans and shoes on the guy- not bad)
So I am sure the things went the way the film maker looked at them.
By the way read his story- he is 47 married to 24. Lived int he US for 30 years, was married to AW, got divorced and couldn't find a match after.
So the show is made from his perspective and only.
It shows as much class as the owner has himself.

Thankfully for both our sanity, that isn't ever going to be the case. >:( There is no chance of agreement between a RW and a half German Aussie. Simply is not going to happen. :P

BS aside, who's the relevant judge here? Two married RW and one in search phase (Sorry if I missed someone) One married RW says he has possabilities, one married RW says he is trash and the searcher says he maybe warrents further investigation. Even money spread which gives they guy an even money shot.

It can happen when we talk of Americans  :D
Nobody is completely relevant. The opinion of 100 min Russian girls would be better. Mine is -the guy is OK and far from being trashy.

And even then you are likely to get 100 million different opinions. Thank God we don't have to please 100 million women, just one.

KenC: Whatever yours or my take on what standards should be, and I would add, I was a way sight better dressed when I met my now wife, decent slacks, top shelf shoes, collar and tie, jacket and so forth, (The particular situation lent itself to that), but hey you really do need to have a look around if you think this dude is way down the ladder in the whole scene. He is mid scale at least from what I've seen over the last few years.

I think there is two different thought trains running through here, one is how it should be and one is how it is. Reality is, they are not one and the same in today's scene. I've seen way worse than this more times than I care to count.

I/O,
Just because the "norm" is set so low, does not mean we have to accept the standard.

It's so sad that the RW who should have high quality AM,  are getting so used to low quality AM, some may actually believe this guy is "better quality" or "good enough". I have often said the men who go overseas in search of a wife are lower quality for the most part .Yet AW who are mostly undeserving are getting the high quality men here.Is there something very wrong with this picture? It's really odd we now compared a high quality AM in Russia not by standards, but by the other low class guys that go there.

It's like saying to some foreign guys, a gal like "Ellen"(talk show host or hostess) isn't "so bad "compared" to the fat ,ugly, socially inept women looking for a stud husbands in a poor foreign country. Sure, you may convince the guy she's not such a bad catch after looking at all of the AW in his country getting off the plane. But if he has any sort of sense ,soon as he gets to the U.S. he'll quickly be comparing her to the "better quality" women here and realized he's been duped. People are not stupid. You can only make a sow's ear into a silk purse for so long. Then the truth comes out.

BTW,judging from the body language of this man's dates and their facial expressions I dare say ,they were not exactly acting like he was a catch.

Women pick the quality they want or agree to. Nobody is twisting these girls arms!
I met two  AM before my husband, I didn't like them (their quality), I went for a different man. I stopped when I saw that was the one.
Nothing sad - this is how it is there and here.

No , most of them didn't really like him.

That's right. The look of distaste on their faces showed they were too smart to get fooled by the sow's ear disguised as a silk purse. No matter what the women saw through the low quality AM that was put in front of them.

Perhaps if the 47 year old guy was more realistic in choosing the women who were at his level he would have achieved much more. For now I think even average looking young girls are looking at this 20+ year older guy and saying "no thank you"!

I think eventually he will get a desperate girl in his preferred age group of 20's to go for him. But he better know it will be a GC deal. Unless he shapes up and gets himself  at least a little fit, Learns how to dress and behave differently and starts looking at women 30's and up. Then he may find genuine success.

I wonder why Eduard is so oblivious to the girls behavior and lack of interest as he is supposed to be there to guide this guy in the right direction. But it seems he wants this guy to believe he's the stud in the drivers seat. Why does he need Ed around to sugar coat. I can't see Ed's agency offering anything other agencies don't. delusion and hope is a top seller.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought the AM was 47.  I am not talking about Ed. Eduard has the advantage of being a RM and speaks the language and understands the culture. BIG plus in my book.

If he's in his late 30's it's even sadder as he is in very bad shape physically for such a young man. I know people M and W who let themselves go when they reach 30. But that leaves for many bad health issues as they get older.

I think Americans need to wake up and take our health into account. When we see overweight young men and women and we think nothing wrong of it it says a lot. There is an obesity epidemic here which is a shame because fat people are becoming the norm. Noone seems to care what they look like naked since they can cover it with cheap clothes.

Doll, that is the problem with the U.S. too many people that size and we now think it's normal. So sad we are the fattest in all the world and folks think it's ok.That stomach is not muscle but flabby fat. Sad when we make excuses for fat out of shape people by calling fat men clothing stores "big and tall" and calling fat women curvy,or BBW(big beautiful women) rather than what they really are FAT!!!

back when I was growing up most of the kids I knew had thin parents. Fathers were thin and mothers though not always thin were not fat either. These days both men and women are so out of shape that when they travel to foreign countries it's easy to spot the American. Not because they're speaking English, but because they're out of shape with big bellies and bad clothes.

This gay is definitely fat. But some women don’t mind, so I did not hold that against him.

And the Russian host was 2 times bigger!

KenC: Two points. You are preaching to the long since converted with me. I learned my lesson on day one in the FSU years back. I had asked the questions as best I could and all advice, just stick with travel clothes, nobody will notice. Maybe nobody did notice, but I sure as hell did when I hit the ground and believe me, it was airport to apartment and shower and then hit the nearest menswear shop of which the owner is probably still greatful for my patronage. I had come in from Switzerland where I was appropriately dresses but I was way outclassed by the locals and pride wasn't going to let that continue. I dodge fellow foreigners when in the east because far too many are not the sort of people I would wish to be associated with. Not all, but far too many. I don't, and never have approved of a large number of the clowns travelling east, wife hunting and interesting enough, I may have said this before somewhere, the worst of the bad I have seen were Germans.

The second point is one I agree entirely with. Be it Eduard and his "System" or any other handholder, if a guy needs this sort of managing to go east, then I have serious questions as to whether or not he should be going at all.

BTW, I haven't seen any takers among the RWD boys for my invitation to show a clip of themselves in shorts only, ironing their shirt. ;D What's that say? Too much class? Embarrassed? Can't use an iron? :o

:noidea: I can use an iron just fine and have on many occasions, but can't recall a single time *ever* that I did it wearing only shorts - camera present or not  ;)

   May,

Did you tell your mom those women are horrible actresses if that is indeed the situation? Though Ed may try to tell us different, the body language and facial expressions of those girls  showed they had no interest in the AM at all.

If Ed tries to come and tell us all the girls were interested in the AM and he had the final choice I will then say he is no different than any other agency owner.Who would care not about the client and helping him avoid mistake, but more about the bottom dollar.

When men go to FSU and use the help of an agency is this not holding hands with someone? To go alone is to be a man? I read the other thread Are you man enough?, catchy title, then I noticed guys responding and saying "I'm a man because when we go shopping......"

Ladies & gentlemen, don't make fun of John, it just occurred to me that Eduard vaunted acquiring some RWD members as clients, therefore he may be actually reading all this ;D.
