If anyone on this board can say they met a line cook or wal-mart shelf guy in FSU, let let him/her speak up.

Ronnie , you're wasting time lecturing on the USA vs SU agreeculture- we a re here and know quite a bit. The example with the farmer (shelf guy or line cook) was just in opposition to lawyers and CEO

Doll,

So you met a  lot of Wal-Mart guys and line cooks who traveled to FSU on their $8/hour income?  :rolleyes2:

Like a fool, I assumed all along your postings were serious.  Okay, you got me.   :selfharm:

Well, the RW's husbands and bf that I personally know:
1. Wall mart janitor
2. Zoo attender (yes!!!!!!!!!!)
3 (Three!) unemployed
4. 2 cops ( small salary)
If you need more- I will think
I myself met two AM - both with less than 30K annual income. Swear to God!
"Met" meaning I dated.

I don't trust them also. The girls don't want to admit their husband in MOST cases are not the match. mAny of them are marrid to 15-20 years older men, many have financial problems. They talk of it now and then but in this topic they just say "Fe". Come on!
I totally agree with Zhena.

Do they want to make themselves look better? If they were to admit that their husbands were not their match, would that not imply that they could not do better? It might bring up awkward questions that would bruise the self-esteem of some.

Likewise, with the men, it seems they must do so much to counter the existing stereotypes and boost their egos. Like or not, the perception in the general public is that only "losers" go to the FSU to find wives. Makes me wonder why John's case has elicited such a vitriolic reaction from some of the men here. Why the need to prove that he is an "exception"? Is it because that he confirms the stereotype? Much of what is posted here at RWD seeks to affirm how hard it is to find a RW and how much of a real man you must be to find and marry a woman from Russia. If men like John succeed, what would that mean about the other men who marry RW?

"Personally know" or travelled to FSU?  I personally know RW husbands who've never been to FSU.  The RWs were already in the US.
Did your janitor travel to FSU?  If so, does he work for Wal-Mart or is the store just one of the clients of his janitorial service?
Zoo attendant?   Do you know how well that job pays?  Didn't think so.
Cops - small salary?  Do you know that the LAPD starts new recuits at $54K plus overtime?  Five years on the job and they're over $70k.

When you say you "dated" 2 guys with less than $30k annual income and know of some who are unemployed you are obviously missing something.  Assets!

Did you always ask your dates their salaries?  Just asking.

The first one is a cleaning person in walmart- the walmart employee
Next makes $9  and hour and his wife has to have two jobs to cover the expenses
Both cops pay child support and they make less then 40 K before taxes

Ronnie,

Why must you continue with the inane arguments? I know you said somewhere else you're opinionated but does that mean you have to argue points which are unsustainable?

The last X number of posts have been about Doll's assertion that the bloke in Eduard's video not being so much different than other American men that Doll met (dated) in FSU.  I don't know why you can't accept something she says???

You claim you NEVER met anyone "that bad"...  something I find unbelievable.

My time in FSU is MUCH less than yours,  but blind freddie can find many examples of dreadful specimens chasing FSUW.

If you're still saying you've NEVER met anyone "as bad" as the bloke in Eduards video I would have to question anything you say in future.

2 cops ( small salary)

U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics

Quote
Police and sheriff’s patrol officers had median annual earnings of $47,460 in May 2006. The middle 50 percent earned between $35,600 and $59,880. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $27,310, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $72,450. Median annual earnings were $43,510 in Federal Government, $52,540 in State government, and $47,190 in local government.

In May 2006, median annual earnings of police and detective supervisors were $69,310. The middle 50 percent earned between $53,900 and $83,940. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $41,260, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $104,410. Median annual earnings were $85,170 in Federal Government, $68,990 in State government, and $68,670 in local government.

In May 2006, median annual earnings of detectives and criminal investigators were $58,260. The middle 50 percent earned between $43,920 and $76,350. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $34,480, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $92,590. Median annual earnings were $69,510 in Federal Government, $49,370 in State government, and $52,520 in local government.

Federal law provides special salary rates to Federal employees who serve in law enforcement. Additionally, Federal special agents and inspectors receive law enforcement availability pay (LEAP)—equal to 25 percent of the agent’s grade and step—awarded because of the large amount of overtime that these agents are expected to work. For example, in 2007, FBI agents entered Federal service as GS-10 employees on the pay scale at a base salary of $48,159, yet they earned about $60,199 a year with availability pay. They could advance to the GS-13 grade level in field nonsupervisory assignments at a base salary of $75,414, which was worth $94,268 with availability pay. FBI supervisory, management, and executive positions in grades GS-14 and GS-15 paid a base salary of about $89,115 and $104,826 a year, respectively, which amounted to $111,394 or $131,033 per year including availability pay. Salaries were slightly higher in selected areas where the prevailing local pay level was higher. Because Federal agents may be eligible for a special law enforcement benefits package, applicants should ask their recruiter for more information.

Total earnings for local, State, and special police and detectives frequently exceed the stated salary because of payments for overtime, which can be significant.

According to the International City-County Management Association’s annual Police and Fire Personnel, Salaries, and Expenditures Survey, average salaries for sworn full-time positions in 2006 were:

Minimum annual base salary             Maximum annual base salary
Police chief                                    $78,547        $99,698
Deputy chief                                    68,797               87,564
Police captain                                    65,408               81,466
Police lieutenant                            59,940               72,454
Police sergeant                            53,734               63,564
Police corporal                             44,160        55,183

Statistic is two years old, but I guess, for two years the annual earnings of policemen increased  :)

It seems we are arguing relative levels of "bad" - which is, indeed, pretty tough to argue effectively as there is so much subjectivity and bias built into the foundation of the issue.

Just a passing observation.

Carry on . . . . .

Most police officers must be U.S. citizens. They must be healthy and strong and of good character. To get a job, a person must pass a written test, be at least a high school graduate, and have some work experience.

Some local, special, and State police units want recruits to have some college training. All Federal police agencies require a college degree. Many police units encourage new recruits to take college courses in police work.

Pursuing a wife in FSU, bringing her here and supporting her is an expensive proposition. I don't see how anyone can do it who does not have substantial income and/or assets.
Just one visit to FSU will set you back at least 3 - 4 K, and probably more, the dollar is down and the airlines are raising their rates, again. Check out for airlines prices to Kiev, they would hit 2K this summer for the ticket alone.

For someone to even think that an unemployed person, or a janitor can pull this off is incredibly naive.

In all fairness, the costs have increased substantially now,  so someone could have done on the cheap in yesteryears.

I think substantial increase in costs either already have or would soon eliminate the type of person who is the topic of this discussion.

Also one should remember some basic facts about our system. About 76% of Americans have a " negative " net worth, means they owe more than they have.  To think that any of these people could muster up thousands of dollars for this pursuit is utter nonsense.

Though it is conceivable that you could find a wife on free personal sites, but going there, bringing her here, and supporting her costs a fortune.

I think reality is being lost.

My mistake was that I argued how he compared to all American men in America, not American men on sex tours (or whatever)  in FSU. So I apologize to Doll, we were talking different subjects here.

Kuna, you may have missed a post or two.  Doll and I are arguing, inanely, I grant you, that I selectively listed the men I personally met who were in country seeking a wife.  I was accused of not being truthful as you are doing now.

Doll asserts that ($9/hour) American guys are plentiful in FSU.  I ask you who's stretching credulity?

I was 100% honest in my recall of the AM's I met there.  I left no one out that I can remember.  I even mentioned the good ol' bama boys -guys that I have nothing in common with and did not make a good showing of America.  I got the impression they were there to have fun.

Further, Dan makes a good point.  i HAVE had guys who make use of coarse language in my presence but when they see I don't reciprocate they usually stop.  Some even apologize.  Here's what some people don't get.  Using profanity around people who have rejected it for use in their own speech is like blowing smoke in a non-smokers face.  Some idiots do it.  Most have more self-respect.  The guy in the video seemed oblivious.

Yeah right, four dollars gas was way off too.

Most Americans are already maxed out on their cards, they can't borrow anymore. You live in USA and you did not know that.

Well - no need to spat over this issue - as we have a link right here at RWD that will settle that question. Just visit the RWD Shopping Mall (look in the left frame - towards the top) and you will find a link to "Airfare". There, you can check on flight prices using Kayak or Expedia - whichever floats your boat.

Enjoy!

- Dan

[Update]: Well, I guess it is only Kayak now. Must have removed Expedia a while back.

Just did a mid-June check on R/T price from DEN <-> KBP for mid-June, over-weekend travel. Lowest price for economy passage was $1639. I did not click on the price to see if there are additional fees, but it is likely.

And the ones who aren’t must be Irish….

If you fly in September from Seattle to Kiev it costs less than $1000. If you fly from New York, it will cost less than $900 and that includes all taxes.
