I live in California 8), and work as a actor for Film, TV, and Theatre, no I am not famous and rich, yet :D  But that hasn't stopped women from  contacting me. The problem is, and I'm here because I was told this is the place to find out more about this.
I have had women from all over the world, not just Russia, who contact me, it is very flattering, so we write e-mail,exchange photos, etc.and have been since March, not just one but most say they have finally found true love, just be e-mailing me and seeing my photos and profile. Some have posted profiles giving American locations as where they live, but then some tell me they are not here, but in Ghana, Nigeria, or some place went to for business or to bury their loved one who died in Africa. Russian women send me photos, love letters, and I respond in kind, it seems that they don't have computers, telephones and cell phones because it is too expensive, and aren't paid well enough on the wages the receive as doctors, teachers, and so on. Hey I'm not getting rich here either, if my brother hadn't sent me this cell phone and my friend gave me this computer for helping her move, I'd wouldn't either, if you cannot afford it like me you don't buy it.  My Russian girlfriends, they are not complaining just telling me why I cannot call them or they cannot call me.  I read the scam alert and took the quiz, and file a request to check one out, who asked me to pay the fees the government requires for her to come over here, that is when the red flag went up!, but the truth is also I don't have the money to pay for this. It would probably be easier for me to their country and teach English, except I don't have the money to do that .
Why is it that all these women in Africa have some fortune stowed away in locked boxes being held by the bank or security company for them and they need my help to contact the bank or whatever to have it shipped to me. OK WE KNOW THAT IS A SCAM. The Russian women don't try to pretend to be rich, they all say they are working and just cannot afford to pay for their own way over here. Is that true? I don't know, could be, maybe it is, but how am I going to know with out paying out the money to someone to deliver flowers to the address? If it was here in the USA, I could send a card with my return address that way if I get it back because no one lives there or the place doesn't exist, at least I'll know.
Sorry I see I'm going on and on here didn't mean to take so long.
Thanks for your attention and make it a great day!

Patrick ;)

Patrick,
Welcome. You came to the right place! First, read the 10 Commandments. There are many experienced men here, many who are married now (to FSU ladies) and many in the pursuit stage. And yes, some starting out, like you.

Some other guys may differ or explain it better, but I would be very suspicioius of any unsolicited emails from girls. In general, a real Russian girl is not going to contact you, except with maybe a quite short note, and certainly NOTHING romantic. If you stick to ladies you have initiated contact with, at least you know there is some reduction in the probability of getting side-tracked with scammers.

It struck me how you mentioned already so many things about monetary situations with respect to the "girls" that you've been emailing. This is very unlike a real FSU lady (by the way, FSU is Former Soviet Union)

Now, if you stick to only women you have initiated contact with, will they all be happy to write to you? Nope. Many will ignore you or write 1 or two times. So your ego gets less stroked. Part of the price of reality.

Actually, you could ask yourself, are you even serious about marriage at this point in your life?

But whatever, you can get many good answers and perspectives to your questions here. This is a solid bunch of guys and girls. We have some real smart FSU ladies that also participate.

Patrick,

Any woman who contacts you out of the blue without you having a put up a profile is suspicious. Of course you might not expect this being a world famous actor (well almost), but I guess most of the mails you have received were from men, and should have stayed in your junk mail box.
The pictures you have seen were of real women though, and most of them would be Russian ones. So if the eye candy interests you, and your income will reach a point where it is comfortable to travel, you might check out the real women in the FSU. You will not be disappointed, and find that they can make their own way without your help.

Don't send money to strangers...unless it is me you are sending it to.  ;D
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Hello Patrick! i am not as experienced as the other members, but i can tell you that if any person contacs you from Nigeria or the like you have to run like mad, seriously Nigeria is scam country and when they tell you that they are there for any reason most likely is a scam, so don't lose your time with them.

Hi Patrick

Welcome. Well it seems you are getting your feet wet in a hurry. Glad you understand about the African, Nigerian scams. Nobody died and left you $10 mil. Period. Sorry.

Just some quick comments on your intro. Almost all RW have at least a cell phone. Those that say they do not, may just be a means of avoiding direct contact, not a good sign. Secondly, no honest RW is going to send you a love letter, unless you have already met her in person and have established a relationship. If, by the time the 3-4th email comes and she thinks you are "the one", just hit delete. And, to ask for money because she wants to come and visit you is a total scam. Because it can't happen. Well, that should take care of about 80% of the ladies you referred to!!

Never send money. Period. Period.

I am sure you will receive a lot of good advice here, so just listen and keep us informed so we can help. Good luck.
