All I can say is good luck. I hope it all works out in the end. It is a real shame how poorly some of these lovely ladies get treated at our Embassies world wide. Too bad, I hope your gal does not think all Americans are as rude and inconsiderate as the folks whom she met at the embassy were to her. But I would not blame anyone for not wanting to go there again let alone go to a country full of people like this. I mean how many other Americans has she bet besides you? Maybe she thinks we are all rude????

I don't know.  Compared to the typical customer service in Russia, I would think that even the rudest treatment at the embassy would be an average day around town.  And if you think that is bad, wait until she needs to deal with the ignorant people she will meet once she arrives.

I've said this before.  Having thin skin and an easily upsetable personality doesn't work in this endeavor -- be it for the RW, or her American partner...
