Ukraine address for I-129F and G-325A
« on: July 25, 2008, 09:32:20 PM »
My fiancee lives in Kyiv, but her passport has her Lughansk address (she owns the apartment there where she grew up).  She claims that in Ukraine, passport addresses of "home owners" are of that home address, not where they currently reside (if it's different).  That being the case, should I put her Lughansk/passport address on the K-1 forms as her current address, or her Kyiv apartment (rental) address?  Nobody is living in her Lughansk apartment (it's been empty for several years), and she plans to sign the ownership over to her 22 year old daughter before she comes here.  We obviously don't want problems at the Embassy interview when she surrenders her passport, which shows her address as Lughansk.  By the way, Lughansk ladies are traditional Soviet hotties, without the westernization/feminism/self-importance that is beginning to plague Kyiv (go East young man), and people in general are far more personable and friendly in Lughansk than the capitol.  I met my lady through a friend of a friend in a church here in Michigan.  Thanks in advance guys/gals . . . . . .  8)

As far as i know on all forms they ask you to fill in Residence Address, which means where you or her live physically at the moment, not where she is registered.... The idea is for USCIS and US Embassy in Russia or Ukraine to be able to send her the package or notices to her address where she lives for her be able to get them and stay in contact with them.

So, in your case that would be Kiev rental address. (especially if she isn't planning to move from there till she moves to you)

Confirm this with Jet.  :)

That is absolutely correct. They will use this address to mail her things, so if she doesn't want to check the Lughansk apartment regularly, use the Kiev address. The US  gov't understands people can move after their passport has been issued.

Sideskraft,
They want the address where she is physically living.  Her visa will be sent to the address listed on the K1 Petition and must be signed for by the beneficiary (her).  No one else is allowed to sign for the Visa except the beneficiary which is delivered via DHL/FedEX.

In regard to the police report, the disparity between the resident address and the official address has the potential to create some problems. Has anyone been in such a situation and how was it resolved?
