Thank you so much. I dont think we will stay here but it is a great hotel. I'm thinking more along the lines of an apartment. We used to know this nice girl that worked there. I actually had a friend that went to see her. He was an idiot. Thats all I can say about that. She married some very lucky guy from down there. We thought about Turkey but with the costs of airline travel, visa's,hotels the whole nine yards with traveling with a kid we've just decided to do Yalta again. What about the mountains? What do you guys think?

Hi Greg, which mountains Crimea or west  Ukraine.  I have been to both, but Crimea mountains are limited.  Good for maybe a night or day visits but maybe a little boring.  Tartars have a nice lodge up in the mountains which is fun.  However only 3 rooms but great food and views.

West Ukraine in the mountains you could easily spend a week.

I'm think West Ukraine. You are right about the food of the Tartars. Great shashlik and good tea on top of a cool mountain.

While "Tartars" is an alternate spelling and technically correct, "Tatar" is the more commonly used name.  It avoids getting them confused with the sauce.
