Decided to stop the casual dating scene I was doing in Kiev, USA, Zurich, Brussels etc and find a serious girlfriend again. Since I will live in Ukraine at times in the future, have to focus on a girl who lives there. Also, I like Russian speaking households and not Ukrainian. So decided to put my profile on a local agency in Kharkov and see if any girls hot listed me. Several did and I did something I thought I would never do. Exchange letters and actually plan to meet someone. I never write letters always meet face to face. I know my writing style may seem direct and unfriendly in other posts on this board -but in person a lot nicer and very open. This has all taken place in past 3 weeks.
So This Friday after work I fly from Brussels to Kiev airport and arrive at 20:50 than take a taxi to Kharkov (train or plane not good times to Kharkov from Kiev). Than meet her at 12:00 on Saturday. At 19:40 Saturday night I fly back to Kiev. This girl works which is a first. I have dated a lot of girls but very few actually have worked - in fact maybe 5 out of 40/50 I have seen in Kiev (modelling is not a job in Ukraine). So this is new for me. I actually liked the girls who did not work so they could spend whatever time I needed with them when I visited. My previous girlfriend of two years in Kiev did not work and I supported her with buying apartment, debit card, etc.
By the way I have never talked to this girl on the phone. She asked me to call but I told her via letter face to face is way to speak first time. I think we exchanged 4 letters. I did see non agency personal pictures as being a guy appearance is a must for me. I like very tall thin girls. The kind that cannot buy Victoria secret stuff as it is too big - i.e. 174 -178cm and 51 to 52kg is perfect. Of course the girl has to have a personality. Most girls in Kiev I dated were lacking the personality and were very insecure (models tend to be that way).
This is also the second girl who does not speak any English I will meet in my life for a date. Last one was the girl I dated for 2 years.
My backup plane is a bachelor party I have to go to in Ukraine and some members from this board who may want to meet in Kiev on Saturday / sunday. I also have some girls who call me a lot who are from Kiev but I am not serious about them and not good for me to keep seeing them. When guys ignore women, some of them really want you - not a good thing for any relationship.
I have the luxury to fly every weekend to Ukraine I want. Will be there again September 26th and probably every weekend in October.
Should be fun - but I remember the first 6 months with my and big effort to teach her English (daily 2 hour calls, English lessons, electronic translator for vacations).
If this does not work, will do the letter thing in the paper in Kharkov everybody is talking about next. Since this is an agency girl, we will see.
